She ignored the second comment, blushing out of embarrassment. "In a manner of speaking, yes: Wesburg may be populous, but few of its inhabitants remain year-round. Thusly, I remember him and his family being around the block when I was growing up. I certainly wouldn't call him a friend... More a natural disaster than a man, but, surely you know of his reputation. Why come to me about him? Are you concerned?"

Ellondra prodded at the pecan tart with her fork as though wondering if indulging in sweets was appropriate given the circumstances. "How you managed to feed so many with one good arm is beyond me..."

Vik'nar rubbing his chin and thinking for a second, "Hmmmm, an excellent question. To try and put it plainly, I would say that I can trust you be you Ellondra. If that makes sense. So far you seem to be the only one disturbed by scout's note and contemplating its meaning. Maybe I'm merely being overly paranoid, but the coincidence of men looking for envoys of the King where the scout's meeting was planned troubles me."

"As for the food, well back home I'd serve twice this number of my people almost every night. Even with both arms and assistance of my kin, I'd be quite exhausted by night's end. But the Sever-elves work hard and deserve the comfort of a fine meal now and then."

Pausing for a moment, "Strange, I don't normally talk of my family's dealings with others."

Vik'nar spotting her eying and prodding the pecan tart with a fork. "They came out quite nicely, let me know what you think." And stares, waiting to see her reaction from taking a bite of it.

"I noticed you didn't seem to be a 'normal' Sever-Elf..." If the comment was offensive, there wasn't the intent behind it. She glanced up and caught his eyes because they happened to be right there, and she shifted a bit, uncomfortable with such direct attention.

"So you've read it, then. The note." Ellondra paused, cutting a small section of the tart free of its surroundings and spearing it. "...If they seem to have little worry, it's because I've not shared it with them since we found it."

She took the bite while he absorbed that fact. Eggs, sugar and butter... A completely melt-in-your-mouth experience. Molasses sweetened and complemented the flavor, and the crust crisp, but yielding. It completely derailed her train of thought and it was a long moment before it turned up again. The Sergeant shook her head as though returning to reality.

"I... I'd intended to make the scout's meeting tonight."

Vik'nar smirks at her facial reaction to sampling the tart. Perfect.

"Wait, you weren't planning on going alone?"

'So thats what she wasn't telling me' he thought as he stood by the crack of the door and listened to every word of their conversation.

'It's like they think I'm untrustworthy' he continued as he stiffled a chuckle at the irony of his thoughts. Maybe he'd come along to this meeting, un-observed of course but that was what he was best at.

She didn't respond--so the answer was likely a "yes".

Her companions were wounded in ways that affected their combat. Not that she wasn't, herself. But she could still hold her sword and move her feet and perhaps just a touch of questionable substances could null the pain. She'd considered, briefly, enlisting Skaar's help... The black knight was the least injured and his powers would greatly turn the tide of a surprise attack. However, he was unreliable and his mood shifted swiftly.

Ellondra finished the tart and set the plate aside, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "I intended to hide the real eggs in the event that I fail."

"I know your logic in this, but I'll be damned if I let one arm keep you from going without someone watching your back. We learn nothing if you turn up dead next morning." Attempting to look his most stubborn but still betraying the faintest hint of concern.

"Besides I'm not completely disabled." Grinning as he produces a dagger seemingly out of thin air with a bit of sleight-of-hand. "You're not exactly tip-top either." Indicating the bandages stained crimson at her arm and stomach.

Ellondra looked away guiltily, embarrassed of the state she was in. "Of course I would've done reconnaissance beforehand... Fine. But just the two of us. Any more and we lose what little subtlety a cripple and an officer already have."

She paused, looking him over carefully, seeming somehow conflicted. "I do hope I'm not wrong to trust you in this."

Anyway, just letting you know, if you have questions and concerns.

P.S. I've noted what you put into spoilers, and I just love you guys for doing that! :D Thank you so much, really ;)
Do that in the future... everyone, do that, it's so handy.

I've updated inventory, and if you want to know your current status regarding anything special or just the typical overview, PM me.

Kudos! :D

"I don't believe your trust is misplaced, but if it would help ease your doubts."

Leaning in close to sheepishly whisper as if almost embarrassed to reveal it, "It's not gold or jewels I shall ask of the King when this is over. I plan to ask to be appointed Lord Protector of the slums of Hereldan, giving me the legal right and obligation to stamp out The Guild where the City Watch does not brave to enter. My family and kin have suffered enough under their corruption and the indifference of other, being rid of them would be a small step towards our revival."

Leaning back, he studies her once again to see how she reacts, but this time to something far more than a simple sweet treat.

"Find another?" Warees replied, turning back to the wrecked tavern, then again towards Skaar. "Every other one is fuckin' broke, smashed into goddamm pieces! There are no fuckin' stools left!"

"Now get da' fuck outta' da' chair, before I tear you bloody limb from limb!" He boomed, unaware of what he was getting himself into.

Skaar slowly rose from his seat, the ragged shroud swathed about his form shifting as he did. In the dull light of the tavern, his tarnished, skull-etched plate armor gleamed dully; if it came down to a fist-fight, the irate little man was already woefully outmatched. "Walk away, stranger. I have no quarrel with you" He muttered, folding his arms over his chest.

She couldn't hide her surprise; she'd imagined him a vagabond, a thief. She felt admiration towards him for such a noble pursuit... To right the wrongs left behind by an apathetic society. But...

"Won't that get you into a spot of trouble with The Guild, then?"

"You will have a quarrel with me if you continue to act like an asshole!" Where others would have simply walked away and shrugged it off, Warees persisted to push buttons, as if he were trying to get himself hurt in the dumbest way he could achieve. Maybe he was growing insane, or perhaps his judgment had been hindered alcohol once more, but he certainly was digging himself into a hole that he couldn't get out of without a scuffle.

"Furthermore, why da' fuck would I walk away?" He continued "I will never admit anything resembling even the smallest shred of humility, especially not from an...abomination, such as yourself. God damned Half-Bound..."

*snickers*

This is going to be fun...

The only ways for me to continue posting is if either someone or something wakes Landon up or I wait until it's the next day...

Patience Lambi!... anyway, I will allow a couple of posts each player, and then I will be skipping to the day.
Afrosan and Slycne, will you be doing your dirty deeds this evening or tomorrow? (in-game time)

"Oh no more so than I normally am, I suppose. I've been a marked man for The Guild for quite some time." Letting out a low chuckle, "Let's just say I was even more brash as a youth, if you could imagine that."

Glancing out the window, the sun is beginning to set. It's casting long shadows across the buildings of Swaere, and merchants are covering carts and boarding up shops for the night.

"As much as I'm enjoying our chat, but perhaps we should depart soon?"

I'm headed out the door for a little while, but I will be back later tonight, so feel free to get the ball rolling and I'll respond later.

"All right."

Ellondra stood, collecting her breastplate, bracer and weapon. Thinking on it, she drew her dagger and did what she intended from the start, making quick work of the mattress to hide the eggs within it. They should be kept warm enough. She nodded to her partner, slipping the knife into her boot.

"Let's find a pair of rocks, and they'll be none the wiser."

Probably won't be on for the rest of the night

Also, how the devil did you know Skaar was a half-bound? You have no evidence, no logical reason to assume so. Just 'cause he wears spooky armor doesn't mean he's a Demon

"Because if you do not walk away, little man, I will disembowl you. I will rip you limb from limb, and use the stumps of your arms as brushes to paint the walls of this tavern red with your blood." He murmured softly, the words reverberating within the obnoxious foreigners head in a chilling, ghostly aftertone. Skaar had no time to be pleasant, nor subtle, and he had not the patience to continue bantering with this drunk. Either it would leave, or he would kill it. Simple as that.

Ranting about "HE'S MAKIN' VOICES IN MAH HEAD" will likely be viewed by the other tavern goers, not with suspicion, but with derision as the claims of a drunken lunatic.
