I have never really understood the attraction to Tali.
She looks human and all, sure... but shes boring and just seems naive. Though Im sure that attracts the anime fetish people

Jeez louise... that's just... wow.
First of all, Tali was by far my least favorite party member, and secondly, have these people not heard of rule 34? They really don't have to wait until the game comes out.
What's rule 34?

Rule 36, escapists.
I'm gonna disagree and say that this falls under rule 34, not 36. I'm willing to stake a cookie that there's already pr0n of it.
Rules? i didn't realise there were rules for, fan fetish, fiction, things. o_0

Tali.... looks like darth vader, and has lizard chicken legs.

Tali: You've waiting a long time for this...*slowly starts taking off various clothing pieces*
You: OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY YES YES YES YES YES
Tali: Oh one last thing before we do this...
You: Yeah?
Tali: I haven't always been a woman.
You: What?

See what a world of plastic boobs and botox gets you? Dorks getting boners for digital creations... women are already making themselves as fake as possible, it doesn't surprise anyone that kids want to bump uglies with a digital character. Remember the story from Japan about the guy who married a video game character from one of those sim-dating games? This kind of stuff was predicted by psychologists a long time ago.

Tali the space muslim... very good CloggedDonkey. I got a good laugh from that one.

While Tali may have been blessed the suitable "curves" by the people at Bioware, I would urge the "Talimancers" (sounds like a follow up to Neuromancer if you ask me) to reserve any judgement, if you can call it that, until they happen to see an actual Quarian face, sans helmet. Given that there is probably as much chance of that happening as there is the chance of Master Chief removing his helmet and revealing himself to be the illegitimate child of Gordon Freeman and a female clone of Solid Snake, I guess they're just going to have to sit tight.

As was highlighted by King Teabag above, having seen glimpes of the upper part of Talis face in ME1, I've always figured there's something alien about the quarians to a degree that they probably wouldn't really be attractive to humans (at least until the inevitable quarian fetishists start cropping up). I've still though Tali to be a nice character, but more in a rather naive and innocent way...as has been said, she definitely seems more like a child than anything else.

Best they just leave the romance and sex scenes to Subject Zero and the like (along with Samara no doubt).

I want a thresher maw romance!
I'd hit that.

Anyway, on a more serious note, I've seen a lot of other people say they wanted to do Tali. There was even a thread here on the Escapist about video game characters that you found attractive or whatever and a few people said Tali. I guess it's mostly because we don't know what she looks like, which I guess makes her more attractive to some people.

The thing that gets me though is that there are some things that we do know about her.

1: She has fucked up dog legs (the heel joint or whatever is much higher up, for better jumping I guess)
2: She only has three fingers
3: Who knows what's behind that mask but I'd bet willing to be she's no Michelle Rodriguez

Tali is one of my favorite ME characters, and I am really happy that she and Garrus will be in ME2, but no way do I want her to be one of the do-able characters. It would just be too weird and creepy.

Don't tell me you didn't know of the option to romance with Liara?

in essense, having Tali as your girlfriend would be a nice touch.

even though, if I did so in Mass Effect, I might feel guilty having to break up with Liara.

the space Muslim? I found her not even that effective, let alone sexy. that is really just wrong.
I thought she was a space gypsy- wandering form place to place, believed to increase crime wherever they go.
she has to take a pilgrimage to a special city, Meca for those of the Muslim faith and some space station for her, she has to wear that shroud, thing, and she has a bit of a middle eastern accent, for no explained reason in game and because the religion has one of it's biggest fallowings in the middle east. it's just a theory I have, not saying you're wrong, just putting up evidence. come to think of it, most of those thing are in gypsy culture, so*throws down smoke bomb and runs away*.
What city? She just has to bring back something of value to her people.
Cloggeddonkey has no clue what he is talking about lol. Read Mass Effect: Ascension if you want to learn about the Quarians. They are a nomadic culture and closely resemble that of human gypsies.
god, sorry. I haven't played the game since about the middle of last year and I haven't read the books. I remembered that she had to go on a pilgrimage to do this or that, I thought that she said. the shroud was on top of her head and not connected to the mask that she wears, it reminded me of the Berqa that Muslim women wear as part of their religion. sorry for not being a raving fanboy.
Hmmm... didn't mean to come off as hostile... but I will admit... I am a raving fanboy :3

I prefer Wrex, actually It's kind of odd how they want to get it on with something that never shows it's face.

Item #1: Tali is Quarian.
Item #2: The Quarians shared a long history with the Geth.
Item #3: From the ME wiki: "Though young, Tali is a mechanical genius." Not "mechanics", but "mechanical". The adjective modifies the noun, "genius".
Item #4: Tali is thus, a robot.

Every time I think of Tali, without "her" helmet on, this is what I see [http://outlandinstitute.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/johnny5.jpg].

This is clearly NOT doable.

I think alot of this comes from a Mass Effect 2 trailer/preview about Tali where...

Sheppard (male) and the crew traveled to the migrant fleet she spoke of in ME1 to defend Tali after she was accused of doing something or being put on trial for leaving (I don't know) and you had to make certain dialogue choices to either defend or shun her. If you did a good enough job there was this cut scene where she expressed her deep gratitude and didn't expect you to "come to her rescue." No kissing, no hugs (that they showed) just a very, very grateful thanks.

After that she was banned forever from the fleet no matter what happened.

This was on G4's website in December If I find the link with the video I'll post it but I can't find it right now. The entire tone of voice Tali had during the preview in some people's mind must of sent a message of a possible Tali-mance.

Just a theory on the tsunami of Tali love.
