where you from could help make an apt comparison although the easy ones are she-devil Beelzebub cruela devil and the worst way to spend a vote.
you are obviously new, so let me be nice, "where you are from could help make an apt comparison, although the easy ones are she-devil, Beelzebub, Cruella Deville, and the worst way to spend a vote." corrections are in bold. please try to use correct grammar.

anyway, i am from America. but you dont need to know that because comparisons dont need to be made, just tell me what she did and why she is hated.

While I'm not British I am very familiar with the history and culture. So yeah, I do know Thatcher. I don't really mind the film, just that like OP said, it will probably more an homage than a documentary.

Never heard of this woman. Sounds like a royal...

Sounds like she was the opposite of a lady.

I heard of her first from the movie "Billy Elliot". But no, I'm probably not old enough to know her well enough to have an opinion. Anyone who sends their people out to war though, is a horrible person by definition.
Except that war is often necessary to overthrow evil dictators and bring freedom to enslaved people. Do you feel that the allies were horrible people for choosing to fight Hitler?
but then again if the first world war had been avoided Germany would have never gone into a resection and its national pride would be intact and Hitler would have no argument and being an Austrian would be less accepted than the Jewish community, just to point out before Hitler Germany was one of the most multi-religious accepting states in Europe, therefore no second world war.

OT: From what I heard, she sounds a bit like Sarah Palin lite.

Conservative, possibly evil, but not stupid.

Seeing how I don't like conservative views, my opinion of her is, naturally, negative.

That's not true, I'm 19 and I loved the King's Speech. And maybe they are making this movie to show people who don't know who about her who she is and what she did. She was the leader of the conservative party in 1970 and the first, British, female Prime Minister by the way.

very well then (a touch offended) she was a PM in the 80s hated for her decision to import cheap coal, destroying British industry, and Privatising many public surfaces. this created mass unemployment. to get the idea of the cultural mood at the time watch V for Vendetta based on a comic book written at the time.

and please refrain from patronization as it is quite annoying. "Garrb Garrb I don't like the toan of your voice young man".

How exactly could the Falklands war have been avoided? If you had've let some tin-pot junta take over sovereign Britsh territory which contained British citizens It would have had quite bad ramifications for other areas. China @ Hong Kong: Ohaithere

I've heard the film described as pure left wing fantasy. I lost desire to see it when I read how it shows Thatcher as guit ridden and demented.

As for why I don't hate Thatcher, where I know I could always learn more what I hear of British industry is that when Thatcher was in office it just wasn't very good. At the end of the day why save something that is substandard?

Tatcher has gone down in history as an anti-workers extremist & war lunatic (falklands war, really? What next, a war for opium) and brits abroad generally continue picturing her as a madwoman. Consider it like this: if you f**k with the people, the people will make you pay it by ruining your name forever afterwards.
