Yes, Australian wildlife is pretty gross.
Not even Chuck Norris fucks with Australia.

In Australia, Kangaroo roundhouse kicks Chuck Norris!

And everything seems to be poisonous.
Large predators are bad enough as it is, but if anything that lives under a rock can kill you, it gets worse.
Best thing you can say about a Polar Bear:
You always see it coming ;-)
Not always, silly as it is, they can be quite stealthy.

a vampire squid
a goblin shark
or a camel spider

Any of those would make me shit my pants in terror. Especially the camel spider though. On top of being that big, they jump and their poison dissolves everything under your skin including the bones. They're also fast as hell. Seriously, don't look up images of camel spider bites. It's goddamn nasty.

Edit: Ninja'd on camel spiders...TWICE.

That is suprising. I mean, I believe they can probably walk without a sound, many animals can, but wouldn´t you always see it? Well exept in a blizzard of course.
You no your day is no good when you land up in a blizzard. Then you get eaten... great.

But why would the have to be stealthy?
Its a friggin polar bear!
Well, I suppose maybe the seals can get away, but I doubt it... Those beasts can swim very well.

Title says it all. Which animal in the real world would you not want to meet in it's natural habitat? Please state why and the animals killing methods. I'll begin.

The very image fills me with terror and awe

No name needed, the Great White Shark is probably the most recognizable shark of any kind and images of it certainly can deter you from swimming. While I admire a predetor that hasen't needed to change much for millions of years, it still scares the piss out of me. These monsters can reach 20+ feet in length and could swallow you whole! It's an ambush predetor that will usually charge from under the water upwards to suprise it's prey and deliver a fatal bite. You will then be left bleeding in the water, if the shark doesn't finish you off right then and there it will wait until you lose enough blood to be an easier kill. Luckily, they don't usually target humans, still, your helpless in the water compared to these things. So I wouldn't want to meet one.

Then again, anything with a pair of jaws like these is something I don't want to meet.
I should add you have a greater chance of dieing from falling coconuts. I see your point though. These basterds stopped me from closing my eyes in the shower.

Ahem, Grizzly Bear, Giant Squid

I'm trying to figure out exactly what this is, but I'm slightly afraid already.
My favorite Deep-Sea Animal, the Gulper Eel. Can't harm you though, they grow as big as your arm.

Pirahna and the Siafu Ant.

Siafu Ants, they can KILL YOU EASY! Haven't you seen Indie 4? No exaggeration, they are scary and killer ants!

They just let their front paws rest on their nose (which is then on the ground) and walk along with their back paws. Good luck seeing that coming with a nice bright sun :D.

Well that was disturbing. I have a bearded dragon which means I'm not too squeamish when it comes to live feeders, but I don't think I could own a fish like that. That was a very long drawn out feeding o_O

As for the great white... I have no fear of it, but that's probably because I don't live in the sea. If I were to ever meet one in the water, it would obviously be no contest. The animal is just a mouth.

Edit:

Err... that is not a real goblin shark. That is what you might call "paper mache".

Still though, what a terrifying beastie.

Ok, that does it. I will never go near snow again. That is really scary.
And also shows a remarkable level of intelligence, hiding the black nose behind white paws.

hm...
I want to revert my former vote. No I go for polar bear!
How high is the chance to get mauled by a polar bear in the snow of south germany?

Sharks scare the shit out of me. On land I would at least stand a small chance at running away or hiding from something, but in water you're fucked.

Unless you're rich, and can deport them. You're quite screwed. Good luck with not getting mauled :p!

For me, it would have to be giant-ass spiders. I don't even want to go searching for an image I hate them so bad.
You mean the Goliath Birdeater spider?

This wee fella here?

Soooo fuzzilly kyoooot
Jesus, I actually shook when I saw that thing. I can't imagine holding it.

I have absolutely no problem with bugs or spiders, but holding a giant fuzzy one like that? I'd be traumatized.

And when I first entered this thread first thing that came to mind was a Giant Squid.
I had a bad encounter with a squid on a fishing trip about 7 years ago, prick of a thing got me with it's ink or water or whatever the hell it spat at me. But still, spiders, spiders take the cake for being the most scariest bastards alive on my list. One that size would've made me shit my collective pants.
Are you perhaps thinking of an octopus? They're sometimes confused and octopi are well-known for using ink jets to escape predators.
Maybe, my memory is a absolutely shocking.

Hahaha... Some people will believe anything. Except for one species in India, camel spiders aren't even venomous (and they're not even sure if the Indian species isvenomous). As for 'big', the largest average around 12cm in leg span (that's under 5") I often see wolf spiders and huntsmen that size and MUCH larger.

They've only killed like 1 guy, and that wasn't even provoked... I think. All I know is that only one guy actually ever died from a Candiru.

A grizzly bear. I`m more likely to encounter one of those where I live than something like a great white shark. A cougar is probably second on my list.
