I'll pass on meeting a giant squid, tyvm. Eyes the size of pizza's. Pizza's damnit!
Were they those things that are supposed to fight epic battles with whales in the deep sea?

I read that somewhere once, no idea if it is true, that they found these whales with scars the shape of tentacle-suckers and by the size of the wounds the squid must have been as large as the whale.

Now if that isn´t one epic fight, I don´t know what is ;-)

But we won´t meet one, ever.
Those, yes. And the moment we'll be able to go deeper into the ocean, we'll go. And we'll be fucked.

Like that. Since I fail at embedding.

First thing that came to mind:

That's a modern day Velociraptor, I'd rather not get disembowelled by one of them.

I hate big spiders, but funny thing is, the Orb Weaver doesn't intimidate me much. Yes it's eating a bird, but it's pretty much hairless and has a colour pattern akin to something found in World of Warcraft. It just looks so...fictional. Glad it does.

A Huntsman would give me a heart attack, but I'd watch an Orb Weaver in fascination.

That sounds like a number one reason not to got deeper.
The Great Old Ones are one good reason.
Their descendants are best left to battling whales, methinks.

That is true, but it's pretty much a one sided fight most of the time, the whale dives, bites a squid and eats it, it's usually over pretty quickly, they believe the scars are from the squid thrashing about as it gets bit in half

Awww, that is disappointing.
I had such a lovely image of the fight in my head... Both entwined, thrashing, under water in slow motion...
Ah well, reality is often just not up to it! ;-)

My number one animal I would never want to meet in its native habitat:

Anything that originated in Australia.

I am thoroughly convinced that everything that evolved on Australia did so for the express purpose of killing me and as many meatsacks get in the way until that goal is accomplished.

Shocking Pink Dragon Millipede (Desmoxytes purpurosea) is a spiny and toxic millipede aptly named for its bright pink color. These adult millipedes are approximately 3 cm long and live in the open on leaf litter.

Oh, and did I mention that the little thing shoots hydrogen cyanide? You know, the slightly acidic, extremely poisonous substance that boils at just a little above room temperature (25.6 °C, 78 °F). I'm pretty sure it's natural environment is warmer than that. Meaning that this little bugger fires off a volley of extremely poisonus liquid/gas in your face if you try to poke him. I would not want it in my face. I could consider beneath my heel, but I might just as well prefer to never meet it at all.

Yes, Australian wildlife is pretty gross.
Not even Chuck Norris fucks with Australia.

In Australia, Kangaroo roundhouse kicks Chuck Norris!

And everything seems to be poisonous.
Large predators are bad enough as it is, but if anything that lives under a rock can kill you, it gets worse.
Best thing you can say about a Polar Bear:
You always see it coming ;-)

Army ant.

Fucking "dreaded swarm" is right.

Also, anything that lives in the pitch black zone of the ocean.

SImply being down there would nightmare fuel enough.

in pictures they dont look scary but the barracuda fish are definitely the most evil thing i have ever seen. i saw a tank of them at seaworld in florida, and even in a tank they are really scary looking. they barely move, they just stare at you looking evil and dead.

however i would say the animal i would not want to meet would be a grizzly bear. they are just the ultimate predators.
