A review of Zero Punctuation

Zero Punctuation is the greatest video review series ever. Done by a man who actually will research something before arguing about it. With that in mind, lets get rolling. Vroom!

The videos are well structured, the images are entertaing, and the analogies are freakin' hilarious! The man is like a Grizzly bear that tears apart anything that wanders to close to him, like the woodchipper in fargo. Yahtzee picks apart the game like a shark and will find every ant that tries to crawl up your bum. If it is a good game, then he declares it ant-free, or at least managable with some pesticide. Other games have so many that it results in control-snapping frustration.

It is unforunate that 90% of everything that comes out really is shit, or at least falls short of expectations. That's why we have Yahtzee, to play these crappy games to let us know if the game should be declared God, or if it should be buried and never heard from again, Like Atati's E.T. and Pac-Man.

So all-in-all, I'm thankful for zero puctuation, Yahtzee for putting up with the games & making the videos funny and informative, The Escapist for pulling the genius move of hiring him, and in Yahtzee's own words, Stonking Great TITS!

EDIT: Okay, it does read like a fanboy review. As for the greatest review series ever, I've been watching too much G4, so perhaps I didn't compare it properly.

I don't think a review of Zero Punctuation was really needed. Nearly everyone on this site is here because of him. But I fully agree that ZP is awesome.

While I generally agree with you, this is less a review, and more a spouting of fanboyish joy.

Frankly, I stopped reading at "Greatest video review series ever".

With short paragraphs and the fanboyism, it's hard to take this review seriously.

Let's go to the points you should be addressing.

A. Why do you like Zero Punctuation?
B. What is Zero Punctuation?
C. Why should people like Zero Punctuation?
D. Does Zero Punctuation has flaws?

And many many many many many others. If you're going to do reviews on this site, check other reviews. They might give you an insight on how to actually do one.

Huh.

It's an amusing series, but I think reviews should be considerably unbiased, even for the sake of comedy.

Yahtzee is less a critic and more a chariacture.

Love his series, find your "review" to be a fanboy wank more than anything.

Okay, It does read as a fanboy review. Also I should have expanded on it, instead of showering it with praise.
This review came about mostly because I wanted to test the waters and see how well I could do, so I started with something everyone is familiar with.

Constructive criticism is quite welcome.

Wait, we're now doing reviews of reviews?

This has serious ad infinitum potential. Either that or the paradox of the review that reviews itself.

Somewhere, Yahtzee is either weeping with joy, or about to write a review of this review. In which case he's going to wreck your shit.

I agree though.

Amen. Anyone that says something is the best ever is a fanboy by definition. Anything that has ever been, has never been the best. Everything is good or bad for different reasons. And if you are two narrow minded to understand that, then oh well.

Can someone explain to me how a person known for his hatred of fanboyism now has his own personal army of them?
A fucking paradox if ever there was one.

Ok if you're going to do a review, it needs to be objective and professional. ...ok, well professional anyway.

He's hilarious even when I disagree with what he's saying. I have a friend who got pissed at him calling the resident evil 5 guy "Small head HUGE body", I lol'd.

GDW, I would like to respectfully disagree. There is no unbiased review of anything anywhere. Fox news has "unbiased" news that is actually worded in a way that you don't notice the bias because they present their opinions as fact. Even Amazon item reviews by Amazon employees are biased by the adjectives they choose to describe items. Therefore, I would like to argue that a reviewer who accepts their obvious bias are more reliable than an "unbiased" reviewer. He even tells when he is basing a view off of an extreme bias in case your opinions differ, such as his aversion to most RPGs and motion control.

Although I do agree with you, for those who don't know ZP, this review was unhelpful. It needs to acknowledge faults and give more information.

While I personally enjoy zero punctuation for its insight and occasional dry witticism, rather than its endless tirade of dick jokes, I think Yahtzee's other endeavors have been far more interesting although perhaps less entertaining to people because it actually involves using your eyeballs to read.

Granted ZP is why I'm here on the escapist though I've grown to like other things here as well. Unskippable for one is great but then again I'm one of the few Australians who has heard of MST3K and dammit if I'm not a fan of that.

A review of a review series? This is getting a little meta, and not in a good way.

I do enjoy ZP, however, I really prefer the regular review supplements posted on here. Yahtzee is funny, but he really magnifies the problems a game has to an insurmountable amount (Mmm, assonance). While funny, and good if a particular thing vexes you to the point where you can't see passed it (Press X not to die....), but not really candid, nor objective to ANY extent.
