A sad day for humanity or at least the public image of these women.

It's funny. If a man does something wrong, everyone here would jump and point out that's his individual fault, not that of all men. If a woman does, everyone here jumps blaming it on feminism and women in general.
You know what's funny? Nearly everyone here blamed the individuals, not feminists or women in general. The first page did have two posts specifically blaming feminism, but they were quickly shot down by other users. So basically, most of the posts here merely talk about how vile these women are and many point out the double-standard. There are obviously quite a few people who link feminism to every stupidity any woman ever does and you're in the right to criticize them for sexism, but it was barely existent in this thread, so you have no right to blame the general escapist of anything at this moment.

This is saying a lot about how sexism is still around: And as usual, the scorn is reserved for bashing women wanting equality. Every excuse is immediately used to bash feminism, because insecure people just can't stand women getting equal rights - which we're still far away from.
Now you're just being deliberately stupid. I'm fairly sure nobody here in their right minds would bash women wanting equality. And while we aren't there yet, we're actually pretty close to reaching equality for both genders (aside from gender roles). We've definitely come an incredibly long way at the very least.

THIS, my friends, is a double standard. Classic case.
No it isn't, because your previous argument is flawed. Most posts here merely discuss how disgusting the behavior of the women on the screen was and pointing out the blatant double-standard (Which one of the women on the show actually point out) present within the show. A lot of people might have reacted the way you describe, but you're wrongfully blaming every escapist of something they didn't do.

The claim that "men saying similar would get fired instantly" is insane. Men say something similar every day, on Fox News, for example. It's called rape apologism, and is so common, most of you don't even notice it anymore. That's the fun part about the outrage in this thread.
Men make similar comments every day and nobody gives a shit except those icky feminists you hate so much.
First of all, using Fox News for any argument is never a good idea. It's the craphole of television and nobody cares what is said there on that show. Secondly, Rape apologism is common? Really? I'm not saying that in a sarcastic way, because it might differ from country to country, but I have yet to see that appear anywhere on local tv-shows.

Third, just to be a bit more specific here, most of the people here freaked out not because of sexist comments, because those are common on both sides, but because of how a group turned such news into a complete joke. I have yet to see a single male-dominated TV show in which they constantly crack jokes about female mutilation.

And People do give a shit...lots of shits actually, which I will explain in the last section of my comment and again, nobody hates actual feminists. And the reason for this certain outrage is because this site is predominantly male and the idea of getting your penis, probably the most important bodypart for any male, cut off for no reason by someone who is blaming the guy for it might be a bit more horrifying news for them than for the general female population and seeing random women make fun of it might have pissed them off more than usual. Imagine a women getting mutilated and getting her genitals mutilated and then finding out that a group of men make fun of it and sometimes praising the man just because it's a woman.

And again no, male show hosts get into a huge amount of trouble for sexism very often. Something isn't insane just because you won't believe it. Many episodes of shows often get taken of the air or at the very least censored at the hint of male sexism and rarely at the hint of female sexism.

The women here were out of line (mocking people that were brutally savaged is NEVER FUNNY, it's total douchebag behavior), but it's saying a lot that people only complain when women act like this, and think it's totally okay when men are making jokes about women being gangraped and killed.
Why do those men deserve no punishment? Why is it only bad if a man is a victim?

It should be bad in BOTH cases. Why are you hypocrits only complaining about this when it's a male victim?
Whoa whoa what? Are you living under a rock? The exact opposite of what you say is true. Nobody thinks it's ok to joke about women getting gangraped or killed and if such jokes do happen, they'd get the shit criticized and complained out of them by both parties. I've witnessed countless threads filled with countless complaints about sexist men on many, many gaming forums. Much more than I've seen the opposite (like this thread, for example).

Hell, it's usually not even about subjects of such size. For example, just a month ago, there was a completely random police officer that made a remark about how, while rape is a horrifying crime, women should wear more clothing, so they don't provoke these rapists. Sexist beyond belief, yes, and threads about this were to be found everywhere around the Internet for weeks. I have not seen a single month in which sexist behavior of a certain man (appearing on tv) isn't discussed thoroughly in multiple threads on multiple other game-related forums. You have a flawed vision of reality. Just because you don't notice the threads rightfully criticizing such disgustingly sexist men, doesn't mean they don't exist. Because on the contrary, they're quite common.

You are right though, men usuallly look out for random people of the same gender more often than they do for people of the opposite gender. And the same rings true for women. Don't kid yourself by believing sexist behavior is often one-sided.

I always find it funny when people chose to defend femenism by saying something along the lines of "When women do bad things in the name of feminism they are just ignorant because all feminism does is promote equality." Feminists who are unwilling to accept that there is REAL BURNING HATRED in there movement are a serious problem and are the biggest reason I and people like me simply tune out feminist opinions.
It might just be me. I always took the definition of a feminist as someone who fights for equal rights between men and women and I never saw anyone who didn't fit this description as a feminist. So while you point out that certain people have a pure hatred for men in their hearts, I just see those people as morons, not as feminists. But yes, there are people within the equal rights movements that fall under your description and it is most definitely a problem, but I'm not defending those people. There are plenty of people who do merely want equality and aren't hateful morons and it would be an insult to them to group them together with a retarded vocal minority.

I dont pretend for a second that the crazy women who post online that they want to seduce and murder all men over the age of 18 or that Joss Whedon supports domesetic abuse because Firefly had a mixed race couple in it are an accurate representation of modern feminism, but when you look at the mainstream government funded programs and pop-culture feminist literature and you can still see the hatred of men and lack of common sense.
I can somewhat see your point, but again, you're acting as if these people are the majority, while they're simply the most vocal.

Earlier in this thread I pointed out The Vagina Monologues. In this a 13 year old girl is plied with alcohol by at 24 year old in order to entice her into sex. They go on to say this is a good thing. Feminists celebrate this literature and the government funds its performance all across The USA, Canada and the E.U.. Thats right government funded mainstream feminits celebrate the rape of a young girl at the hands of an older woman and heres the really funny part: JOURNALISTS HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR POINTING THIS OUT! Thats right, while women are allowed to casually mock a man for being the victim of brutal abuse, torture and mutilation at the hands of his wife on television, men have been punished for having the audacity to denounce the celebration of lesbian rape. This is the fallout of the Feminist movement and calling these things commendable is quite wrong.
I..wait...what?
Are you serious? I'm shocked, to be quite honest.

"Depending on why she cut it off."

Like there is ever a reasonable excuse for mutilating another person, let alone your spouse.

is "the Talk" like "the view?" Cause i wouldnt be surprised if it is.

personally, i think its disgusting, and if a show where men talked about how nice it would be to permanently plug a womans.... thing, down there, and laugh about it, there would be HUGE outcry about how wrong that is.

EDIT: It has been pointed out to me that the talk is infact like the view.

Yes it is. "The View" is on ABC and was doing good ratings wise, so CBS wanted in on the cash and made their own version of the show.

OT: It's disgusting what the wife did, and it's horrible what the talk show hosts did

i think the biggest think going unmentioned here is how utterly (based on the information provided) unprovoked this attack was. If a divorce is suitable justification for such a horrific case of bodily harm then, male or female, that person has a problem

And before someone goes on a rant about freedom of speech I only have one thing to say, is common decency not a little more important than freedom of speech.
Short answer: No.

Long answer: NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Once you start infringing in people's rights to say stupid, offensive stuff, you set a precedent of eliminating liberties if those liberties make someone else feel bad. This is dangerous and wrong. Who's to say what "common decency" is, anyway?

That said, these are horrible people, and the woman in question deserves some good, quality prison time.

...Dear ladies from "the talk"....Since you support wives chopping off their husband's penis over stupid arguments, I assume you're also in support of women in third world countries having their nether regions surgically mangled in the name of tradition, right?

No? You say that's terrible and totally different? ...Perhaps. But it boils down to the same thing: forcibly destroying a person's reproductive organs. And that's no good. So think about what you're advocating please.

Also...how the !@#$ will that poor guy take a leak now?
*hopes that woman gets her ass handed to her in court for a retardedly huge sum of money*
all i can hope for is she drops the soap.
what? it's equal.
