Scenario: You live in a house that's isolated enough so that no one would easily notice or hear what you do. (perfect for loud parties/this thread) You pass by your window on the second floor, and looking out you see two people, one person laying dead on the ground in your yard, and another person standing over them. The person standing turns around and looks right in your direction and sees you through the window, and you notice that this person is...

Option #1: ...Holding a bloody blade. This person runs towards your house but you lose sight of him.

Option #2: ...a zombie, and of course it runs towards your house to eat you. you also lose sight of the zombie

Now, it's pretty obvious that both the zombie and this murderer want you dead, but given the option, which would you rather deal with, and what would be your plan of action?

Note: The only supplies/weapons you have are what you currently have in your house in real life

A zombie sounds easier to outsmart, and probably easier to kill due to them lacking self-defense knowledge. So I choose option 2.

Well, true zombies can't run. Nor can they think. So I'd rather face the zombie, even though the person the zombie just "killed" will reanimate as a 2nd zombie. Provided the 2 zombies are the only threats nearby, I would definitely choose to face them rather than one human murderer.

To deal with the threat. I would find a blunt/sharp object and wait at the top of the stairs. That would force them to come up single-file and I'd take them both out as they reach the top of the stairs.

It depends how well the murderer is dressed...if he's wearing a suit, he's somebody to look out for, probably drunk if he's wearing shabby clothes, and if he's wearing a trenchcoat...go for the zombie.

I'd have to go zombie. Lots of stigma around killing murders, paperwork, it goes on your record, but with zombies, all ya gotta do is point and say, is a zombie!

Murderer

Humans can be killed, or at least incapacitated, with surprising ease, if you know what your doing. Plus, the kind of weaponry in my house is better suited to mortal flesh the the already-dead

I'd say zombie, after all they have no brain functions and are generally easy to kill, when you have the right weapons and skills.

I can probably stop the guy with the blade by disarming him and using his weapon agains him. The zombie coming at me probably means there's a zombie apocalyps going on, which means that even if I can get rid of it there will be a lot more to eventually eat me, so in that case I might as well give up and just let that first zombie eat me. It's not like I care that much for being alive.

Zombies are stupid, and traditionally slow (unlike the one in this thread who seems to be a bit of a athlete. Either way, doesn't matter it's still thick as shit, unlike a human high on his kill with his senses sharpened.) I choose zombie.

Step 1: Grab a suitable "tool". Sports equipment i.e. my cricket bat, hockey stick will do. I also happen to have a replica Jacobite sword. Of course an ice pick from the garage would be most effective, according to the genius of Max Brooks.

Step 2: Establish a good position in a room (check it for undead first) and set up a barrier with furniture facing the door. This barrier will be a simple design intended to funnel the zombie into a small space that slows it down by using myself as bait.

Step 3: Use the tool...... on it's brain.

Step 4: Relax with a glass of whiskey and ice. :D

Zombie.

Much easier to outsmart and slower (I am assuming we are talking classic shamblers and not 28 Days Later/Left 4 Dead Infected). Taking out one zombie would be easy enough, I would think. I would retreat to my bedroom, retrieve the crowbar that I keep on my bookshelf and then head upstairs. With any luck the zombie wouldn't even be able to make it up the stairs, and if it did I imagine it would be with great difficulty, giving me ample opportunity to bash its skull in.

The zombie. A serial killer is a lot smarter than a zombie. After that, I would have to destroy both bodies.
