The other annoying part here is if you pick the game up in a bargain bin which happens to have multiplayer-exclusive trophies. The online's practically dead by then, with maybe 1 or 2 matches, sometimes not even have servers anymore. Even if you desperately wanted to get those online trophies, you can't. I hate that.Hubilub said:2. Multiplayer exclusive trophies.
Now, I don't hate that they are multiplayer. I hate that they are a requirement to get a platinum trophy.
I'm a single player kinda guy, and it annoys me when I can't get the feeling of 100% a game because I don't play the online.
The most recent perpetrator of this is Red Dead. I 100% single player, yet it will never be 100% when I look at my trophy-list. Douchebags.
Any game with DLC achievements or trophies does that. Sucks on both ends. For 360 it takes away from our completed page. And screws with our progress bars. And on PS3 it takes down the percentage. Bastards!!!chromewarriorXIII said:Borderlands does this in a way. It adds the DLC trophies into the overall percentage. So while I have the Platinum trophy for it, I only have 68% of the trophies. I hate seeing that because it makes me feel like there is so much that I'm missing.Hubilub said:I mean, what if they released trophies for DLC to a game that hindered you from getting platinum until you got the DLC and got the trophies? It would suck. And so does this.
For me it's: Complete Level X, Complete Level Y, Complete Level Z, Complete Level X on (insert hardest difficulty), so on and so forth.
Aaah yes but there is a rub to this secret achievement/trophy gig. Often they will hide hard non plot achieveys to not scare away the trophy/achievement whores. Take a look at Lost Planet or White Knight Chronicles. Some of thier secret ones are ones that will need playing 600 hours or more. I know people that have passed on games they wanted to play because the achievements were too time consumingly stupid. Just like games with easy achievements sell better games with hard ones sell worse.Yagharek said:Secret achievements.
Oh great, I'm so good because I did something by accident and got an achievement. It's not much of an achiievement if you're not trying to achieve it.
Some achievements I can forgive-plot spoilers ones etc. Ones that just happen in the game.
But I generally dissaprove of having achievements that just happen in normal play, and having the obscure ones secret can be annoying. Checking online at a later date to discover that you've missed one that would've been easy levels ago, or whatever, is annoying.
