I don't really care about my gamerscore, but I bet there are lots of people that are annoyed at the multiplayer-only achievements, especially if they're like me and don't care about XBL Gold.

Like the rest of the planet, I really dislike multiplayer-only achievements, for the most part. Though, some do feel good. Like the "Have Fun Respawning" (have the entire opposing team dead at once with at least an overkill) achievement in Halo 3 DLC. THAT took some insane skill/luck to pull off. It's very satisfying to hear that *ba-dink* for doing something amazing like that, playing against other people.

So, maybe I'm conflicted on that...Perhaps they should be filed in two categories, counting SP and MP achievement progress separately.


I'm not a fan of getting an achievement simply for playing the game. "Beat level X" "Kill boss Y" and others of that sort. It's like being rewarded for knowing how to blink, or something...now, one for completing the game? That's just fine. However, I love watching my utterly meaningless Gamerscore inflate rather quickly when I first play a new game, so maybe I'm conflicted on that as well...

Any achievement having to do with leveling up/reaching a certain level. =_=;

I'd rather they substitute those ones for something of a more interesting/unique spin.

I consider achievements more as a notice of "hey, you can do these things," like the Pants Exploding thing in Fallout 3. So things that are just story progression really kindof piss me off, but I can see why people would like it.

I hate all Achievements.

Just let me fecking play my games and stop bothering me with that crap on my screen. A stat-screen with things done is more to my liking. Like in GTA vice city (never bothered with the rest)

There are two kinds of trophies I hate.

1. The trophies you have two of a kind or more of in a game.

Essentially what I was talking about when referring to The Force Unleashed. Having to kill X amount of enemies with weapon 1, then do it all again with weapon 2.

Games guilty of this also include the Uncharted series.

2. Multiplayer exclusive trophies.

Now, I don't hate that they are multiplayer. I hate that they are a requirement to get a platinum trophy.

I'm a single player kinda guy, and it annoys me when I can't get the feeling of 100% a game because I don't play the online.

The most recent perpetrator of this is Red Dead. I 100% single player, yet it will never be 100% when I look at my trophy-list. Douchebags.

Couldn't they have made a system where if you want more trophies you can pick some option that allows you to get them, so that single player focused people can get a platinum simply by not picking this option?

I mean, what if they released trophies for DLC to a game that hindered you from getting platinum until you got the DLC and got the trophies? It would suck. And so does this.
i hate these too, so much.

first off, your making me do the exact same combo/weapon hundreds of times in a row...isn't that work/chores?? i thought it was A GAME!

and secondly, some multiplayer achievements..i can't remember exactly, it might have been gears of war, or idk, but you had to be in a certain percentage on the leader board or something, i was like WTF, so im supposed to beat out 100,000 other people on the board to get that achievement??? fuckk thattt, im a single player person and your trying ot force me to be a multiplayer farmer?? fuck you. fuck you.

I hate any achievements that aren't actually achievements. You should have to ACHIEVE something.

Finish Level 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, etc. You're not achieving anything, you're playing the game.

First Blood: Kill 1 enemy. You started to play the game, congrats, but that's not worth a medal.

I even like absurd achievements, like kill 53,563(?) zombies in L4D or Dead Rising, that takes some effort, so you're achieving something.

Collect X of Y, even though we won't tell you where to find them, Kill X number of enemies in Y fashion, Kill X number of enemies. You beat the game? Congratulations! Now do it again 3 more times. Find X number of secret areas, play X number of multiplayer matches, Kill X number of enemies in multiplayer, reach X rank in multiplayer. I hate multiplayer achievements..but worst of all is this one.

This is a secret achievement.

Multiplayer only achievements piss me off. As far as I'm concerned, they're only there to prevent me getting 100%.

And not to mention the despised "reach top multiplayer rank" trophies.
