4Chan actually counted to 10 for this. Shit be serious.

I've spread the word onto many sights, and I suggest sending stuff on ACTA to the news stations. FOX especially, since they'll gladly eat this up.

This has to be stopped. Its just straight up bullshit and its wrong. People like the Church of fucking Scientology and the RIAA should not and ever be in control of the internet. Neither should governments.

Alert the news stations, spread this around, tell everyone. Get the word out.

Umm, you do know that Fox is Censorship Central? Send it to Jon Stewart and Stephan Colbert.
Perhaps, but they'll take anything they can get if they can make Obama look bad.

I'm probably going to lose whatever soul I have left by saying this, but...

I'm siding with Anonymous on this one. I hate censorship in any form, and if they are fighting the ACTA, I'm behind them. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" seems to be the wisest advice to follow at the current time. Of course, one would argue the wisdom of siding with Anonymous...But I really do hate censorship and the fact that the ACTA would allow governments to search my computer without my permission.

That's unconstitutional.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
It is unconstitutional, but ACTA is an international agreement, meaning its above any national law.
Oh shit! I hate loopholes!

Now I really hope Anonymous takes them down.

In a sense being part of Anonymous, and firmly against the idea of what ACTA proposes, I'm obviously supporting it.

What's hilarious to me though, is that ACTA also stands for my town's transit authority, lol.

Im completely behind Anonymous. The ACTA is a terrible evil that must be stopped. And by uniting under the banner and the common disguise of the Guy Fawkes mask that so often represents them I do believe that it can be stopped. We must(or alteast I shall) dare I say it head to 4chan and await further instructions

Someone should have explained to the kid who made this that China & the various Islamic states haven't just been threatening internet censorship, they've been savagely practising it for years. With threats of incarceration, corporal & even capital punishment depending on the severity of internet 'abuse' in those countries, perhaps it's a shame that Anonymous don't exist.

I really like the concept behind Anonymous, but not so much the execution its undertaken. Conceptually, we are all anonymous. Until we identify ourselves we are legion. Its ... interesting to think about.

Its funny to me that people ask anonymous to rise to the challenge when what needs to happen is for us to do so ourselves. It is in numbers that anonymous has power. Problem is, how do you fight something like this? When our governments are working in secret to censor and control the masses, how do said masses fight back? Short of revolution that is...

I fear what will happen to the internet and its denizens, as it were, should ACTA pass. Its a sad future, that's for certain.

Stewart and Colbert are equal opportunity mockers who, while they have democratic leanings, will call both sides out. Besides, Fox would never work with their most hated group. It's more likely to see Commander Shepard flying a Reaper before that happens.
Yeah your right. But it still couldn't hurt. After all, Shepard flying a Reaper would be pretty sweet...

Gives me chills. (In a good way)
Hope this ACTA thing fails.
Indeed, it is quite creepy.

"Expect us" almost makes you think of an anon in full V get-up seeping up from under the bed of some RIAA manager.
This would certainly work... there is an old story where a warrior prevents war by sneaking in to the king's castle 3 times on 3 different nights, moves things and leaves a note simply informing the king he was there, after the 3rd night the king sought a peace treaty and ended the threat of war.

In a way i hate Anonymous, and in a way i support them, it is not really a group as much as a gathering of pepole with like minds on a specific event. This has some backing from me, the cause not the deceleration of war in any way other than symbolically .

Normally I dislike 4chan because of its content and though I support Anonymous's fight against Scientology, I have to question some of their methods.
But when the future of freedom on the internet is at stake, some things are just worth fighting for.

Actually, it could hurt. They could take ACTA's side.
I doubt it, but anything can happen I guess. Like most of the 1st world countries coming together to screw over the internet and the people on behalf of corporations.

Hopefully this doesn't end like Chanology did...you know, with a couple thousand guys in Guy Fawkes masks standing in the rain for a few hours...and then doing nothing else...

If you've actually seen /b/ recently, most people don't seem to be up for any ACTA raids, though it could just be the summerfags.

I'm hoping they actually follow through with this attack on ACTA and don't stop after a few protests like they did with Scientology. It's not like they can make things any worse...right?

Also, you seem to have missed a fairly recent attack on this whole "Tea Party" business. The Escapist actually has an article by Andy Chalk on it.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102426-Anonymous-Punishes-the-Oregon-Tea-Party
I'm aware of the Tea party raid, just couldn't find a youtube vid for it.

Edit: If you have one link me it please nd I'll include it.

I find it amusing that people seem to think that Anonymous can make a difference in this business.

What are they gonna do, huh? Prank calls? Youtube videos? Take down a website?

Oh I bet the politicians and diplomats are quaking in their boots at the thought of a prank call.
