I have made it clear on several occasions that I do not support 4chan, Anon, and other such groups but in certain cases, such as this, I must support their goals, if not their actions. In many cases they give the rest of us internet goers a bad name but here I don't think they can be any middle ground.

Just watching the video is awesome.

It's Anonymous vs ACTA, but it's never clearly stated what ACTA is even doing so it's 2 ambiguous factions warring over....?

Oh yeah, I forgot.
I was thinking of copyright law.
They bassically have the right if this passes to search your computer randomly without you knowing for "harmful content". If deemed "harmful" or copyrighted, you could face jail time without a trail... Assuming this wont be abused would just be wishful thinking.
wait what? that's what they're trying to do well then I hope anonymous wins then and what do they deem "harmful content" really nasty porn? and by copyrighted do you mean illegally obtained music/games/movies/tv shows? or those being used without permission

...Well, I personally am Hoping Anonymous will Take this down for us. I hope that the Last boss of the Internet can win against the governments of the world against internet censorship, or else we are heading for the new world revolution.

And how is dismantling Scientology going? seriously though, i would prefer these guys win rather than the internet becoming censored. maybe they should team up with the NRA...

How would they go about war with the world governments without doing more damage? We need to take real world action to show that we won't put up with this, petitions, lobby, roit, strike we need to show them that they cannot do this. We can't hide behind internet annonymity now.

the european parliment is seriously against acta until it is made much more resonable (the removal of the 3 strike law and the internet disconnect law)
If i'm not mistaken, hasn't something like this already has been enforced in the UK? the Digital Economy Act 2010?

"Annon, Annon, they're our undefinable group of internet crusaders, if they can't do it, no one can!!"

I wish them the best of luck. They'll need to do more than press Z or R twice to triumph today.

Oh, it's going pretty well actually. Just a matter of time. At least in Melbourne, anyway.

Definitely with Anonymous on this one. I don't really approve of a lot of their methods, but I think if they want people to take them seriously, they can use their numbers to raise attention in real life as well. Look how many people turned up in '08 for the first Project Chanology protest. Except this will be a little different, since this affects everyone. People don't have to care about Scientology, but they will start to care if this affects their internet usage too.

Everyone, talk to your congressmen about this bull. There isn't much else we can do short of violence.

I actually like Anonymous.

They get shit done; and they are not to be fucked with.

It's crazy, and sometimes scary if you're in their cross-hairs, but it's always amusing to watch when you're not.

Anyways I'm obviously rooting for them. This whole idea of censoring the internet is ridiculous.

Basically, my limited understanding of ACTA boils down to the old adage 'if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns', but newly updated and paraphrased as: 'if the internet is outlawed, only outlaws (and the wealthy and privileged elite) will have he internet.'

While I certainly don't want a part-van pointed at me, I personally don't worry about anonymous... I'm much too small a cog to garner any attention, and in this case, I'm glad that there is a group capable of defending the rights of the public to use the internet in a free and (relatively responsible manner.
