I can see Nicholas Cage playing Brianna Wu.
His over-acting would be so on point.

Personally, I'd hope they'd continue the theme of Hollywood beautifying that would be Johansson as Quinn and cast a bit part for a Movie-Bob character played by Chris Hemsworth.
Now I actually want to see what's made.

I wonder who gets to play TotalBiscuit. inb4 Tom Diddleston.
If this is from Quinn's perspective it'll probably have to trend in the other direction. Pick some hideous, or at least someone who can grow a completely convincing evil moustache.

Hm, I guess you could say that GG's representation in mainstream media...
[HEADING=2]LEVELED UP[/HEADING]
Seriously though, this may just be some huge publicity stunt, but I really want to see it happen. The attention it would garner and the potential for dank memes it would produced would fuel GG for decades, especially if they go full-SVU on it. The only way I would be disappointed by this is if they go for some cheap oscar-bait drama which turns out boring and unenjoyable for everyone.

All I know is my gut is laughing.

When it comes down to it, this movie is likely to be as silly as, if not sillier than, the cringe worthy Law and Order episode. And so I shall take residence in a fireproof perspex box with a popcorn machine so that I may witness the inevitable salt storms.

CAPTCHA: "role model" Why thank you Captcha.

You're already judging a movie that hasn't been made yet; you ARE the salt.
No, I just know that no matter what happens and what quality the movie is the same reaction from people will occur. Human nature, especially in groups, is predictable as all get out.

Although, if I am the Salt...

I know said poster is banned but just to give this arguement a little more spotlight:

We judge movies before they come out all the time, why should this be different? Even if you are not a part of a GG(For or against), does this sound like a good movie? Maybe in different hands yes but I doubt it.

Side note is this more movie/film or is this going to be more documentary? All I know is OP is right this is funny.

DON'T DO IT SCARLETT! DON'T DO IT!

This sounds really boring. And I don't want my favorite actress to be anywhere near an inevitable disaster.
Maybe it'll be like one of those lifetime movies bored housewives watch and forget about. It'll be funny when their ratings go up because of the mass of young men scrutinizing every facet of the movie.

Once again we've got lots of people coming out of the woodwork to tell us all how aggressively they don't care. C'mon, we all know you're gonna hate watch the shit out of this cinematic abortion.

Is it gonna be good? Of course not. Is it gonna be GOOD though? Oh yeah. I can't wait to read another eight months worth of incredibly salty diatribes about Quinn and her sex life. All aboard the ethics train! CHOO MOTHERFUCKING CHOO!

"The movie deal was based on a proposal titled Control Alt Delete, and tells the story of how Quinn, creator of the hip interactive game Depression Quest, was targeted by a digital mob bent on upending her life when a blog post by her ex-boyfriend went viral. It sparked the widely-discussed Gamergate controversy and took a surprising turn when instead of running, she decided to fight back. It is a very inside look at gaming and nerd culture and what happens when one gets caught in the gears of that machine."
Isn't this the synopsis for Joan of Arc?

Eh I'd rather we make a movie on the darkchan/gamergate terrorists, maybe we can have both since they are kinda related?
I'd pay money for that at least, would probably be lulzy as hell.

I mean, argue who disliked the Law and Order episode more all you want, one of the things both sides agree on is that it's probably one of the most mind-boggling silly things put on television and some people were able to enjoy the stupidity of it.
YES that svu episode was the most hilarious thing to have come out of the whole debacle.
Incidentally I want a moment where Zoe is playing Civ5 with the brave new world expansion only for terrorists to hack her game and...I dunno simulate rape with her virtual avatar or something?

This vid remains my absolute favorite of that year <3

So Scarlet Johasson for Zoe, Shia Lebouef for the Dorito pope would work imo and the various media personalities who like to weigh in on this issue as support cast for goodies and baddies dependent on their point of views and what else...
Maybe Total Biscuit as a Bin Laden esque leader?

I'm so giddy at the idea I don't care if it's in all likelihood a joke on someones part.

TLDR wimmin are the cancer, vidya is the answer.

Scarlett Johansson?

Do this even has enough her interest behind to generate enough investment to pay for Scarlett Johasson? I thinking they are thinking a bit too high.

Holy controversy, Batman!

Nah, this is stupid. No matter how they portray Zoe Quinn, or the whole situation in general, it is only going to end up with a lot of people pissed off. I am actually quite surprised that a movie studio, headed by human people with brains, greenlit this project.

Before Quinn became a game developer and changed her name for a second time she was a model known as Locke Valentine, she did a couple of photo sessions and her pictures are still available online (For a price of course).
- The woman's ugly as sin, inside and out.

- I've already paid the price with temporary blindness from her pale ass.

- Any porn site that also showcases pictures likely has her nudes up. Wouldn't say "any" per se, but a good chunk of them probably do.

*topic* I actually wanna see this made, just to see what kind of audience would be interested in seeing Van Valkenburg's... whatever her story is. Maybe the writing would be better than Paul Blart 2.

Oh! We should get Mercedes Carrera to play Zoe! That way we can skip all the bullshit and just get to the porn parody.
It'd actually be very fitting.
That would be so awesome. She wouldn't be able to keep a straight face through it XD

Maybe she could just do the porn parody and wear a shirt that says, "Zoe Quinn" during the sex scenes. The tagline: Zoe Quinn gets fucked hard.

Slut shaming... fat shaming... transphobia... yup, looks like we're covering our bases in the comments. Twenty bucks says this will at least be profitable if if goes through, just because the outrage train will stir up a bunch of publicity. I would say it might also get a bump from all the people that hate the idea going to see it (kind of how I hate listen to conservative talk radio sometimes, but I get that for free), but I suspect the actual number of people with an axe to grind against Quinn are small, just very vocal, and not really capable of influencing earnings for a movie like this, at least not on a recognizable scale.
