The sun rises in the morning, we fall asleep at night, and Fox News are a bunch of fucking morons. What else is new?

Thank you.

OT: Why is it that I'm not even surprised about this?
Because it is fox news. That should be all that needs to be said. If there weren't rules against low content posts I'd have make simple post "it's fox news", since that sentence should be all the explanation that is necessary.

Hell, I am more surprised at how surprised people are here on escapist.

Took a look at the list. Some of them are major WHAT THE FUCK moments. "There weren't any terrorist attacks on American soil from 2000 to 2008" you know, except the biggest one ever. "The Lorax is indoctrinating our children against rampant industry?" if EA is anything to go by, the Lorax is still relevant even after all these years, and is a message not against industry, but against careless selfish, self-destructive industry!

I admit some of the notes flew over my head in an "I don't even know what you're talking about way," but when it got to the bit about the unemployment rate, they said that it was at 14% in Obama's term. I looked up the rate and it turns out that at the very worst, it was at 10% and then it started to drop, so that's stretching the facts. Also I wonder if it has anything to do with companies firing their employes because Obama got elected.

God, I can't believe my Dad watches this shit. I always heard that they were idiots and bigoted, but I only ever saw hints of it (don't watch the news) but now I'm seeing how up front and personal.

So this whole thing is apparently startin somethin at Fox News. Normally when a pundit says somethin insane, most reporters/anchors/hosts just either nod their head or pretend it wasn't as insane as any rational people think it was.

Fox news' own Megyn Kelly actually questioned this entire thing, on live television, and persisted with it for an entire segment.

At first the way she's smilin and even kinda laughs makes you think that she's just goin to do the nod her head and agree garbage. Then BAM, all out assault.

She seems quite legitimately pissed that one of her colleagues actually believes the crap he's spewin.

Full thing here.

Some terrifyin things that happened. She actually brings out facts. Real honest facts. She brings up the fact that homosexual couples fair no worse than hetero families when it comes to family raising. Its...I dont even know. If this is some sort of ruse, its probably the most convincin ruse ever.
This is excellent. What's she doing on Fox? She clearly doesn't belong there.

I'm glad I live in England so I have to actively search this shit out and I don't have the chance of accidentally seeing it on a display television in a store or something.

that was funny my first question when he went to nature i was like....what about lions? dont the ladies go hunt while the men are lazy?

But anywho this is a win she clearly argued her case and did it rationally and confidently. she could have been right but in the wrong way but she was right in the right way(cept where she got pissy with the old dude for a second) but all in all this is a good thing. That woman made them look like fools and was clear and concise.

A woman made those men look like fools on live television.

celebrate and be positive escapists dont be negative.:)

I'm getting some odd formatting errors. Words aren't stopping at the end of a line, they're cutting off and finishing on the next line. Is it on my end or...

What's that? Elderly gentleman are responding negatively to something that opposes the preconceived notions they've held for decades, if not their whole lives? On Fox News no less?

STOP THE PRESSES.

[small]No, seriously. Is anyone actually surprised at all?[/small]

Usually, she's doing the same thing the other anchors and pundits are. Pushing their agenda and saying "fuck the facts."

At a guess, the only reason she's nailing this guy is because he offended her personal sensibilities, and only THEN do facts and science come out and only then do they matter.

Megyn Kelly brought up same-sex couples in a decided departure from her usual narrative on homosexuals and homosexuality, for example. She's right at home on Fox, and I'm sure as soon as they increase the mind-altering substances in the food at the cafeteria she'll be back in the fold, railing against the gays and blacks she just selectively used as examples.

The way I see it, there's one of 2 possibilities here:

1) She's the usual selfish, short-sighted conservative, the type who only cares about discrimination when it's directed at their group. This is a sort of cognitive dissonance I shall never be able to understand.

2) She does the usual rhetoric to get monies and stay at her job, and only now has something finally offended her enough that she can no longer, in good conscience, justify it to herself.

Males are the dominant role in nature?....I think the female lionness would have a few things to say about that, but what the fuck do I know I'm just a woman.

Also 54 million abortions...in 40 years...among, what? 5, 600 million people? Wonder how many women he would have preferred died due to severe complications because the fetus was more important, especially if it was a boy. I just...women don't RUN to get abortions because they want it. A FEW women are seriously fucked up and get laid and constantly end up pregnant, those women need help. But the very large MAJORITY are women who are becoming sick and face the potential for death because they're pregnant, the baby would not survive outside of the womb, or their economic issues make having a child impossible so they wouldn't be able to provide and while adoption is an option it's not the BEST option...seriously the foster care system in the U.S. is totally fucked.

Course I don't know why I'm ranting, this is Fox, those stastitics are probably inflated.

Female lioness? As opposed to the male lioness? >.>

Sorry, being a smartass aside...

their economic issues make having a child impossible so they wouldn't be able to provide
And it's funny how the flip the narrative once the kid is born. Suddenly, the mother (or parents) is irresponsible and shouldn't have had kids.

And you ever notice how these assholes never seem to bring in what the father is doing? A lot of times in those situations the father says "fuck that, I'm not sticking around for the kid" or maybe the dad won't get work and yet they never mention him, that "if men should be the breadwinners" he should be providing for his children and wife...no it always come back to the mom. Not man bashing, or at least not trying to, and I admit I'm generalizing, but more I'm just commenting on how conservative men rant and rave about this stuff.

Well, for them it's not that the mother shouldn't have had kids. It's that the mother shouldn't have sex, because these guys don't like contraception or abortions either.

Yeah, because you aren't allowed to have sex when you're not able to sustain children, see demonising birth control.

But the greatest evil of course is big government and the nanny state. Except, you know, when it reaches into your bedroom or into your vagina when transvaginal ultrasound is required for an abortion.

I'd like to think maybe she learned, but I'm betting it's 1. I'm betting she's back to bitching about blacks and gays next week, even though she just used them as examples of archaic prejudices. Megyn doesn't even seem all that pro-woman, based on of some the crap I've seen her say in videos, so I'm betting this is JUST because it attacked a specific body of women. Women who work. Like her. She seems fine slamming middle and lower-class women.

I sort of wonder how the cognitive dissonance doesn't make their heads explode or something.

"Men should be the breadwinners/responsible!"
"Single mothers are damaging out chilluns!"

Of course, we all know that single women are all out to destroy society by eschewing men and intentionally becoming leeches on society, so it's all moot. <.<

what ever happened with 50/50 responsibilities? dads can be great parents, and moms can be terrible parents. its not always "daddy" thats terrible. also parents should educate themselves about children before have the damn things so it will be easier to do and understand how to take care of. its the same reason so many dog owners get rid of their dogs, they didnt educate themselves and made a good dog and unruly one that will end up in a shelter and be put down to make more room for owner screw ups. great. same with the kids, shitty parents, shitty kids, they grow up to be burdens of society. jee, just what we need. and they say a huge number of abortions, do they realize that if these woman had to keep the baby? they most likely give two shits about it? the baby would grow up to be garbage. does Amerrrica really need more garbage people? i feel they've had their fill no? well they dont know what Stop means anyways.

my parents raised both me and my sister 50/50 and we've never done anything bad, or stupid, we are a strong people who never get peer pressured, even in school and we speak our mind. my mom died when i was 10 though, so my dad raised us alone. he did a good job.

bottom line, Dads can be Moms too! everything is equal.

we even celebrate Mothers Day for my dad too, when we were kids we called it "Mommy-Daddy Day" we still celebrated Fathers Day too of course.
