Heh, I've gone back to GW1 to try and get my Char stuff in the hall of Monuments. :p
Anyone feel like helping with some missions? PM me.

I'm also doing this, though I have got enough for the little ginger kitty so I'm happy. I would like to do more for the heroes monument though because at the minute I only have Gwen up there but I'll be damned if I'll ever do Slaver's Exile again... and I haven't attempted Glint's Challenge.
The armour monument is no trouble because I collect armour sets. My ele has about 7 and my mesmer is catching up fast. I have nothing in the weapons monument because... well, I suck, I suppose. The minipet monument is also no trouble. I do need a few more titles though... I don't even have "Kind of a Big Deal" yet... and boy do people hold THAT against you in PvP. Suppose it is my fault because I went through a phase where I didn't play for almost a year (I know, shocking).

I also need to finish Prophecies and Nightfall... I just sort of lost interest in them and focused on Cantha and EotN because they were more interesting to me.

Ah well, currently I'm running around in my new Lich costume that I bought for Halloween 2010 while I do the Zaishen missions. They're always handy for gold and loot.

NEED. GAME. NOW.

I at least need the damn release date ANET. So I'll have motivation to beat the Proph campaign finally, since I've done the Factions and Nightfall and EOTN twice each already. (Seriously the only fault I find with the game's stories is that Proph just seems so long and annoying compared to Factions and Nightfall, which actually move at a decent clip and don't waste much time with annoying fetch or escort quests.)

I wish for you guys to keep this topic alive, any new info post a link here, we should also just have general GW2 discussion here. It would draw more attention.
Are you still updating this thread? Because this is basically where I come looking for GW2 updates. :L

As you can tell from my Avatar, I as a fan of GW just as anyone on this thread so I'm glad I saw this thread. I been checking GW2 Wiki and Guild War 2 on youtube for the updates but yeah it's been quiet lately.
I really hoping that the Assassin will be in Guild Wars 2 or be under a new name.

Most likely it will. Though I wonder, why is mesmer so popular? I never ever met one while playing GW...

I play mesmer. Though I will admit that other mesmers are a bit thin on the ground, and it's a shame because when they're played right they're awesome.

That interview was an interesting read. I didn't expect them to be implementing potions though. I'm just wondering how hard it will be to get into the flow of the new skill system and energy drain after so long of using the GW1 version; which I honestly don't think is that difficult. It kinda sounds like they're simplifying a few things.

Eh, I dunno... I'm gonna sit on the fence about the new skill system till I manage to test it out.

Well, the neat thing about the new skill system is that it's actually a lot deeper than it looks at first glance. 5 fixed skills and 20-odd utility skills sounds a lot smaller (compared to the current system of 100's of skills available), until you factor in Traits [http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Traits]. Slotting a Trait can change how a skill functions, i.e. adding extra damage, slowing/speeding recharge time, raising/lowering energy cost, additional effects (such as bleeding, poison, longer durations, wider areas, extra minions, etc.). With dozens of traits, the same skill could have many different specific effects and, as an added bonus, every combination is 100% viable.

Lots of things are "simplified" (I prefer the word "streamlined"), but it's still pretty deep for us "deck builders". heh. I'd say a little bit of (that kind of) depth is worth sacrificing in exchange for no unusable combinations.

I do agree with you though, I'd very much like to get in on a live demo and try it out... on second thought, let's see open beta ANet! pweaze?? *puppy dog eyes* haha.

I was really, really excited for GW2 for the longest time, I've loved GW1 and I was super excited to play the new races, but then I read about the downed state. I was able to justify myself as... it could work, I hope. However then they introduced energy potions, and I just cannot justify them. I don't see any way whatsoever how it will work for me. It's just too much of a paradigm shift from the original GW and into a non regenerative mana system. Tying your mana to an item means that unintentionally you WILL run out of them at some point. It could be at a doesn't matter time while your wandering out in the wilderness and are about 2 minutes from a merchant, or you could run out 2 minutes before you kill Zhaitan and end up wiping, because you forgot to go to the merchant because you're constantly tied to your inventory screen.

I just don't think I will enjoy it simply because I hate games with non regenerative mana systems (I'm looking at you D&DO).

From a Concept Art point of view all I have to say is that I love Guild Wars 2 purely for the amount of Kekai Kotaki work that's been put out as a result of it.

Hm, luckily I am not be a Elementalist. :D

Though it somewhat is easier to have mana potions instead of a regen mana, as it sometimes can get annoying if your in a bad situation and you need to regen mana but becuase you can't fast enough you lose.

Hmm, I'm not convinced about mana potions either. Wouldn't it be beneficial to have something like the Dragon Age style, where mana/stamina regenerates, but you can bolster it with potions/increase the speed at which it recovers?
