Google 'furry'.
You are not alone with your... interests. Don't worry, though- Anthropology is a legitimate fascination. Until you get into yiffing. At that point, just give up. Just... give up.
...Anthropology? Am I missing something?

OT: Probably just a phase. When I was in 1st grade, I had a crush on my substitute teacher...that wasn't exactly realistic either. You know, because she had to move on to other schools...

I wouldn't worry about what is "normal". As far as "deviation" goes...this is about as harmless as it gets.

It's just a dog that you are attracted to, probably a crush that will go away.
Perhaps a little like a "bro-mance"? Or how about a "b'ruff!-mance"? XD

Not intended as a pun on the OP's expense. He seems like a good sport. :)

Sorry, I meant to say anthropomorphism.
It's the attraction human to human characteristics in animals. That's what OP has, as do all of us to a degree.

It's possible, actually, after all, while he is a dog, he's given human attributes, so perhaps you're in love with his personality.

He is male, however, so I assume at this point you're bisexual?

That's true, supposedly facial proportions in kittens and puppies are similiar to that of a human baby, and that inspires us to want to take care of it.

I've also read that cats have learnt to match the frequency(or pitch, or...something)of a crying baby, making it hard for us to ignore their cries of "feed me now!".

Not sure I believe that one, but it's pretty damn interesting if it's true.

So this isn't a bestiality thing. You don't love dogs; you love furries. The furry fetish, sexual or otherwise, is one steeped in fantasy. The content is always fictional drawings, photoshopped pictures, etc.. What do you know? Here we have Bolt, a CG dog given human qualities. Is it normal that you "love," Bolt?

Actually, yes. He fits in perfectly with your fetish/interests. Why shouldn't you love him? Now is it healthy to be obsessed with someone or something fictional? No. I think it's also important you determine what kind of furry you are and what you mean when you say you "love" Bolt. Do anthropomorphic creatures sexually excite you or just intellectually fascinate you? Do you want to walk down the aisle with Bolt? Do you want to copulate with him? Or do you just admire him?

Finally, just how serious are you about this? It's not uncommon for people to want to be or be with fictional characters. The reason I love books, video games, comics, and movies is because I want to be part of those worlds and the character's lives. However, at the end of the day, I know they are all works of fiction. As long as you can pull away for a second and say, "I love Bolt, but he isn't real," I don't think you've got a big problem.

Really. Everyone's a bit of a furry, huh? Please, do explain.

You cannot be in love with a fictional character. You cannot be in love with ANYTHING that cannot interact with you.
You sure can be obsessed, though. Which is what you are. Obsessed.

IF any of this is even true.

Also, pretty sure he's just all out dog, not anthro. A talking dog, but still. That'd make you a zoophile, not a furry.
Don't... Well, not "don't worry about it". It's pretty fucking odd but I am sure there are people out there like you. This is the internet.

Uh, also, try not to act on any urges you may have. It would be, among other things, a violation of animal abuse laws.
Not fucking around here. Literally screwing the pooch is kind of up there with child molestation for shit that should not happen. You can't control what you feel, but you can control what you do.

Again. IF you are not just attempting to troll.

God this is fucking ridiculous.

Im sorry, im sorry, I'll stop now.

Once again OP, it's not intended to insult you. It's just me indulging in some silly wordplay. Im not judging, im just joking. It's not like being attracted to an animated male dog is going to hurt anyone.

Oh, for Gods sake, look- See the kitten? See it's adorable dinner plate eyes? See the way it coos for your attention? See how the unbearable purring makes you want to squeeze it against your chest and not let go?
Anthropomorphism.

Yeah, well, that's not what the OP's describing, is it? He said, and I quote,

A sort of affection that I think can only be described as love. Or at least some sort of emotional fixation as I find myself constantly thinking of him. I?ve had several girlfriends in my life, none of whom have ever been as interesting or attractive to me as Bolt.

Surely im not the first one to have a crush on a fictional character, but im 19 years old (and male for that matter).

I could mention a great many things that attracts me about Bolt. In fact I could make a list (and I have) of his many wonderful attributes, ranging from his deep, contrasty personality and his cute, wonderfully expressive mimics and beautiful face. And yet, he is a dog, a treat that is more of a virtue than a handicap in my eyes.
Not exactly how I look at MY pets.

Yes, it IS what OP is describing. Anthropomorphism comes in various degrees, as do all things. I have no idea HOW you look at your pets, but you when DO look at them I can be certain you feel some sort of attraction or they wouldn't be your pets.
OP is anthropomorphic to the degree of infatuation. Many are the same way. It is perfectly natural.

Forget a psychiatrist, get a good English teacher. You're using words like "deviating" entirely incorrectly. I understand the meaning, but the usage makes me think you're trying to sound smart. And that makes me wonder why. Possibly you're trying to offset the appearance of being absolutely insane by a good vocabulary because really smart people are never insane. Or, you're new here and don't really feel all that confident with yourself and so have concocted this absurd story about being in love with an adorable albeit fictional dog to garner sympathy. Plus, you're 19, so you've got to be going off to college soon, assuming you're in an average socio-economic bracket (which I am. Because you're here). My vote isn't for malicious troll, but rather an attention grabbing one. A narcissistic troll. A troll who really doesn't have any confidence in who he is and would rather create absurd stories to pad what is likely a precariously inflated ego. You're seeking acceptance, no? Afraid people will walk away when they discover you think you're boring?

If this is a real issue, then you're probably just seeking refuge from hurt. Solace from trauma. Respite from your past. You do know you can't outrun your shadow, right? And running into the sun to keep your shadow stretched out behind you only works for a few hours in the day.

Or you're just crazy. You know, if the collar fits, it probably comes with a complimentary straight jacket.

Probably the only one to say this but this is perfectly normal, men who consider themselves straight often have man-crushes and vice-versa for women, people who are underage have been known to fall for people much older then them, people in general often fall for fictional characters, millions of people fall for people they'll never meet, this may be an extreme example but it is normal.

I had a similar situation that involved me loving Renamon from the Digimon series. Eventually I realized that my feelings could not be returned by a character that some other human thought up, so i got over her. As far as I can tell, There's nothing abnormal about loving a fictional character.

Edit: On second thought, i'm really weird by several accounts so maybe i'm not the best judge of character.
