The business with Peter Parker's parents being part of the plot and the "don't you know what you are?" stuff has me VERY worried - much moreso than the horrible costume and the animatic-level CGI. The nonsense about Spider-Man's parents being spies or whatnot is the DUMBEST part of his ever-retconned backstory, it does NOT need to be dragged into the movies; and I've got a terrible feeling that there's going to be some kind of coverup/conspiracy thing happening with the new origin.
My thoughts... not to the letter, but close enough. If I were you, I would be making another "Comic's are WEIRD" episode to explain to everyone how in the comics they were secret agents and how they were brought "back."

That will scare anybody from seeing this movie.

Wait, what? Why?

Why is there another Spiderman Movie already?

Seriously we can't even wait a few more years? Was this REALLY necessary?

I was a little upset that they were rebooting a perfectly fine series.(Yes the third one was inferior but it wasn't THAT BAD. i thought it was okay so I agree with IMDB's 6.6.)Then i thought "Well they will probably do spectacular or ultimate spiderman to make it different." So then i was atleast okay with it untill I saw that it was called THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN then i was pissed. Then this trailer showed me that they got someone who doesn't fit Spidey AT ALL. THen it showed me that they are probably going to use that stupid storyline with his parents. Then it showed me the terrible CGI constume. So any chance that i will see this has pretty much died.

To everyone complaining about the first person perspective at the end, didn't they do a first person perspective to reveal the costume from the original Spiderman movies? I have no idea, it's been so long since I've seen it.

OT: It looks pretty nifty. I'm not opposed to a more darker, mature, or "edgy" if you prefer, take on Spiderman. We did that with Batman, remember how that turned out [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/]?

The original Spiderman movies were pretty campy, as were the original Batman movies. Whenever there's something that tries to be a bit darker or whatever, everyone always screams "Emo! Angsty! Edgy!" when, really, I view it more as some emotion. The kid lost his parents, lives with his aunt and uncle, and is generally a loser at school. Wouldn't you be a bit mopey?

Now, we have no idea how the movie will turn out. Could be awesome, okay, bad, whatever. Though I do think people have a tenancy to be aprehensive towards any change. Really, the original Spiderman movies weren't that great. (for some reason, I'm reminded of this [http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/29737-the-top-11-dumbest-spiderman-moments]. He brings up interesting points)

Wow, really? Let me guess what happens: Peter Parker gets bit by a radioactive spider and gets super powers.

WHOA I'M PSYCHIC!

Honestly, do they really need to do the whole origin thing again? We're all very much aware of how Spider-Man got his start.

Also, why the Mirror's Edge ripoff at the end? That game was bad and they should feel bad for trying to make a scene like it. At least they didn't use Mirror's Edge's art style too. I don't want to watch anything if blindingly bright shades of red and white are the only colors used. Shit's worse than brown and gray.

This is going to suck. We're talking Batman and Robin levels of suck because the exact same studio thought process went into making it. No matter how bad people say Green Lantern was (though I humbly disagree with them) this is going to be far, far worse than we can possibly imagine.

The Amazing Spider-Man has been one of those reboots that a lot of fans haven't been too sure about, especially after the mess of Spider-Man 3.
What was wrong with Spider-Man 3 exactly? Only watched the first one and clueless about what happened in the second.
It was kinda a mess and it had a lot of issues with the studio meddling in it to make it as LCD as possible. Oh, and emo-Peter Parker dancing. Just Google it if you don't know what it refers to.

Why are they remaking this? The original trilogy is like 5 years old at most? Has hollywood really run out of ideas that badly that every movie gets a reboot immediately after the originals finished???? Thats retarted!

Terrible punctuation, i know..

Meh. I'm not offended, no fanboy rage. I just cannot bring myself to give a damn about this. The costume is weird, the Mirror's Edge shit is terrible, and the whole thing just feels pointless. I might watch it if it happened to be playing in front of me, but no way am I subjecting myself to the theatre to see it.

The only good reason to reboot Spidey would be if the rights reverted to Marvel so they could use him in The Avengers. Really, Raimi's films work for me. Two out of three ain't bad.

The originals were awesome. 1 was faithful to the core of Spider-Man, being high action and funny while allowing us to cheer for the hero to get the girl instead of it being a gimme. 2 was a grand classic that I still love to this day. 3 was Spidey's Batman Forever, not bad but nowhere near as good as the first two. This is clearly going to be Spidey's Batman and Robin.

Sony loses the rights to make Spiderman movies if they don't make every so many years, plus I hear they've been taking a finiancial beating and need a good cash boost. So I hope you're inspired with confidience.

The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
Are You f@#%king kidding me?

They are blocking a "teaser trailer"? Not a movie, not some kind of music video, or something with actual content, but a freaking teser-trailer?

Stuff like this make me wish Youtube got nuked.

I find it interesting that so much was crammed into this teaser when the movie is still a year away, and all we get in Dark Knight Rises is like three scenes which still leave me going 'Wha?'
I myself enjoyed the FPS scene in the trailer.

As of this thread posting: Is it just me seeing everyone with the face of Bieber making it hard to take anyone seriously here? Have to say, if you gonna troll, may as well troll with the Bieberface.

Toby Mcguire fit Peter Parker more. He actually looked like someone that would have been a social outcast during high school.
I agree with this. Tobey was one of the bits Sam Raimi did right with his movies. This new guy is leaving me with misgivings, but I have been surprised before by actors I felt didn't fit so right. I had full misgivings about Heath Ledger being Joker. Who knew?
Right now this is working out to be at least a matinee movie for me. Worth going to the theater for but not the full price. Definitely NOT 3D. Anymore that is not worth the extra three bucks for anything.

Really? You know I can forgive another sequel. I can forgive the bad CGI, I can forgive the "parkour" emoid garbage. I can forgive a reboot of the film franchise, but I WILL NOT forgive a goddamned second "Origin story" film in less than a decade.

Seriously. Its bad enough that a prime demographic for the original 2002 spiderman film already grew up on the origin story thanks in part to the animated series, but to retell the story yet again this damned soon!??!? Wtf. I wont watch films based on a true story I already know, Honestly having to go through this specific origin first hand for a 4th time is more than I will pay money for.

The only saving grace I can see is the notion of Gwen Stacy being played by Emma Stone.
