So I had a major test last week and got the results tuesday. This was a BIG unit test for U.S. History and this was a good chunk of my grade. Turns out that I aced it 100%. When my neighbor sees my grade, she says, "What is wrong with you?" I respond, "What?" I look over at her test, 63%. And at my school, there is no D, So thats an F.

After that, I get an hours worth of rant about "Nerds have no life, they just study all night" yada yada yada. I question her if being smart is bad. I get the STFU face.

I get annoyed when this kind of phrase "Being smart is dumb" pops up. It's just stupid.

Have you ever have had or seen this kind of issue?

Yes.

It's even funnier when I don't study, and still do better than people who study for hours.

In my GCSEs I didn't get anything lower than an A in any of them, so I know what you mean. Generally it comes from stupid people, but on the whole most people aren't like that (where I live, at least). Just stupid people who either feel jealous or threatened.

Mmmm. I think its funny when people get angry because you got a good score, and they don't. And I rarely study for tests. :)

I do this all the time. I haven't studied for a single US history test, and I haven't gotten lower than a B on the 8 or so I've had. It's great.

OT: If someone gets mad at you for being smart, they're just an incredibly idiotic person. Don't listen to them. Ever. They're just jealous that they don't get good grades or have an Escapist profile.

Also, 63 wouldn't be a D in my school, it would be an F, as in my school they (and every other public school I've ever heard of, as well as most private ones) consider anything under a 70 an F.

I never studied before exams, and still did the same or better than people who had been studying for months :D
The look on their faces were priceless :3

OP: Only being dumb is dumb. Saying that being smart is dumb is just showing how stupid they are.

I've experienced this for years.
Especially at the religion class thing, I actually SLEEP at class and still know more than the religious fellas that keep criticizing me all the time.

That type of stuff just makes me laugh quite a bit. I can't help but think she's just extremely salty that she bombed it...And not you know because...

So... according to her, you're stupid for being so smart?

That just shows how stupid she is for saying that.

Schools have been like that since forever, people who get good scores are labeled nerds who have no life. Don't worry man the more you move forward the more it will be appreciated. Ignore the idiots who try to put you down, it's very simple :).

Petty jealousy is like that. I would reccomend you don'y get into the mentality of not studying for exams. I did and while I past well I never got the grads I could of done if I woorked hard, that and the fact it's a bad mentality for university.

I've been on both ends of this situation. A classmate gets a good score and is extremely proud of it, while I get slammed with a D and a "see me after class" written on the test. Despite my better judgement, whenever this situation occurs I feel a stirring hatred for the good grade kid. And there have been times where I'm the one with the 100 and people give me the stink eye.

I get this FOR working IN CLASS (believe it or not) I wasnt really happy with my GCSE results (I passed everything, but I just kept blanking on the day of thes tests) So in sixth form I wanted to up my game. Now in my media class the teacher wasnt in, and had set us work, so rather than doing itm the entire of my class messed around, while I did the work. The when they realised they kept pestering me about it.

Now YOUD THINK that at the age of 16 you finally realise that your education is super important (if you havent already) and the fact that YOU CHOOSE to go to sixth form adds to it. If they even work in class, they definately dont work at home. And they were taking the piss because I care about my future.

She's just mad cause she scored lower. If you wanna be really evil though, tell her you didn't study. Then laugh at her.
