And if someone asks me if I'm gay? Am I expecte to lie about it? What if someone asked you if you were gay (assuming you're straight, I may be wrong)? Would you not deny it?

Oh man, I'm one of those gay guys that kind of likes fashion and sometimes says fabulous, I've apparently become the problem...

I feel dumb here, way im reading this stuff is that pansexuals are willing to go out with people who blur the genderlines like she-men, whilst bisexuals prefer more gender defined men and women?

This sexuality stuff can get confusing.

People need to stop labelling themselves based on Wiki pages, and stop getting peeved because nobody knows what they are defining themselves as.
I used the wikipedia page because it presents a simple, easy to understand definition. I did not "label" myself based on it. In fact I got off a community councillor while discussing sexuality.

No, no, no, no man. I'm sorry if I made it sound like that. I have no major issue with (you people?). I have issues with people assuming that I have those specific interests because I'm not straight.

I appreciate you giving me the link thus learning about a new sexuality apart from the 4 main ones (heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, and lesbian ...if lesbian counts.) but I must advise that your post comes off very hostile toward the readers.

Not mad or troubled, but it made me feel guilty without a 2nd thought. Perhaps it's just me but being called names for assuming something when not informed correctly gives off a bad impression. Anyhow, I still admire you teaching me about a new concept so thank you for that really, no sarcasm.
Wait, what? Lesbian = homosexual.
The fourth is transexual is it not? >_>

Also: Point of interest. We are technically similar to black people in the fact that we are both minority groups that suffer discrimination. Just at different levels of magnitude.
Really? - is it the 80's again, did I miss a meeting?

That is a rediculous statement to make, I'm not even sure how to comment on it and do it justice. Poor pansexuals, having to sit at the back of the bus, what will they do about all the pansexuals in prison, or dying on the streets, selling their bodies to fuel their Ty Pennington addiction.

Dear Everybody (especially females),

Sex in the City and other similar, shitty TV show are not an accurate portrayal of how the average LGBT man acts. Just because I appreciate dick doesn't mean my tastes or behaviour will be any less masculine than a straight guy. Please get this through your skulls, it's starting to get on my tits.

On a related note (this time for everyone), Pansexuality is not bisexuality. Stop saying it is. When it gets to the point where I lie about my sexuality for the sake of simplicity, something has gone very wrong.

For those unaware as to what pansexuality is here's a wikipedia article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansexuality

The more you know people,
David (Pansexual)

P.s. I'm actually in quite a good mood at the moment, just thought I'd give a PSA :)

So, ranting aside, does anyone else have this problem?
You know how it goes, the worst of the group ruins it for everyone else. You are the typical just a slight blip on the "gaydar" to most people, but when people think gay they thing. "Like hey boys! Its totally fricken HOT outside!"

Oh and thank you for defining Pansexuality, I always classified myself as bi, but this fits me so much better. At least to a point, there is some details I still need to look at further. The wiki makes it come of more of personal taste that biological driven interest. Though I do know a few people who would probably classify themselves as pansexual.

Okay, that statement may have been a bit ridiculous, but i stand by its meaning. Also, I meant LGBT peoples in general, I am part fo largeer community. Who the fuck is Ty Pennington?

The chances that a gay person is less masculine are higher. It's not okay to apply avarages/generalisations on an individual though.

Wait? One of you people? I'm not really a walking stereotype or anything, I just like nice looking clothes and sometimes say words like fabulous. Some people mentioned those being part of the common stereotype of gay people. I'm not a stereotype either, and just because one likes some of the things that stereotype likes doesn't make them one. A black guy isn't a stereotype just because he drinks grape soda.

Basically, I'm just trying to say that I'm not some super manly gay dude nor am I some super effeminate gay dude. I have my own tastes that are completely separate from my sexual orientation. Which is exactly what your thread is about, but it works both ways you see.

If I may correct you, if somebody is transgender, then generally that's a gender identity thing, not necessarily a sexuality one.

Also, female and male homosexuality are sometimes classed together, sometimes seperately, either is fine.

Ah- I figured. Only reason I didn't include transgender because it's who you are physically, rather then feeling attracted to someone (the other three I mentioned have to do with what you're into, while transgender is what you are or become with X Y chromosomes.) However, I feel that I should of included it anyhow so my apologizes ^_^.
You Sir, are a gem. However, transsexuality isn't just a physical thing. It stems from who you are mentally. I know a transman who considers herself straight because she's attracted women.

Call me crazy, but why do you need to?

I mean, I've done things with guys, I've done things with girls. No-one has ever asked me my sexuality except once to ask if I was gay. "No", I replied. That was all.

I'm a big believer that people do not have defined sexualities - and the sudden rise in people claim to be pansexual or bisexual only supports this view in my mind. I think people should just doink and be doinked by whomever they want and stop worrying about what box they fit into now.

Nature is never kind enough to sort things into nice little boxes.

You Sir are also cool (note, I will be using sir for both guys and girls because that how I speck, my apologies if that upsets anybody).

Oh look, another sexuality venting thread that really serves no purpose besides complaining over trivial things and/or indulging in some good old fashioned Narcissism. Not like we've had a huge influx of these lately.

Except for the large number of gay men who do act like that? It's not about orientation, or even really a stereotype: the kind of gay man who will hang out with vapid, shallow, oversexed women will himself BE vapid and shallow, because people associate with those who have common traits. Sex and the City is a piece of garbage that ought not be viewed by anyone anyway, but you might as well complain about it "stereotyping" women as drunken whores.

As for pansexuality, get over yourself. Just fuck who you wanna fuck and don't bring unnecessary terminology into it.
Alright, everyone, start thinking like this guy immediatly and this would all be a lot easier. >_>

So let me get this straight, a pansexual could be sexually attracted to say....a dog, an alien, a person with no gender (if they even exist)? Sounds kinda hipster-ish to me.
