so they are saying that obama is a sociopaths who kills people just cos it causes chaos and cos it's "fun". that makes little sense if you applay it literally.

also, who goes around putting up posters telling people not to take a vaccine to a semi-dangerous virus.
less dangerous than reg flu btw
I wouldn't go as far to say its less dangerous then the regular flu. Since swine flu is a respiratory virus, it can kill many people, including my girlfriend whom I care for very much since she is an asthmatic. Its very scary because while you may be able to get over it, some other people won't. And when it spreads the way it does, its worrying to say the least.

Death panels? Oh christ! i should be dead! hold on while I plant my face in a gas ring. I broke my arm in march, i had it treated within a couple of hours, i had it examined, and had physiotherapy for at least a month. All of it was totally free. (Discounting the taxes for the NHS) Now suppose i had been in america, and had no insurance. what would have happened then?
I don't claim to be familliar with how americans think, but i beleive the anti-socialist outook stems from greed. If you have insurance, and can afford it, you dont want to be paying for someone else's treatment. They also seem to think that this will result in an inferior system. Rather than paying for individual medical treatment on yourself, yourself however, the cost is spread over the entire country. If not for the NHS my arm may not have been treated. Lng live the National Health Service!

This story is at least a month or so old, why make a thread on it?
I was just wondering if this was happening in anyone elses town or it was just mine. And I was wondering what the swine flu poster means.

The USA has never been purely capitalist or socialist, rather its economic and governmental infrastructure interact on a continuum. Obama's policy, if enacted, would move the continuum much closer to socialism.

Objectively. So does that make him a socialist? I don't know, but it sure as shit doesn't mean he's NOT a socialist.

So I was walking home from college minding my own business, when I saw a poster of Obama with the Joker face paint and with the words "Why so socialist?". At first I was surprised and started laughing. But then there is another poster at a near by bus stop. Then another and another and another. The town's main road is literally littered with these posters. Also I noticed another poster next to it talking about "Swine flu genocide" and "Don't take the vaccination". (WTF!?)Now I'm all for free speech and all but this seems a bit too much. Not to mention Obama looks freaky with that face paint.

Has this happen in your town? Can anyone please explain what these posters are talking about?

Any help will much appreciated.

Be polite. No bashing or flaming please.

Edit: I get the Obama Joker one but the swine flu poster has me confused.
there is also an independent comic called Obama the Conqueror.

It always amazes me how involved US citizens seem to get with their politics, for some reason in the UK everyone just bitches about it but nobody would take the time to create posters showing their opinions or anything.

The posters may be stupid, but at least people give a damn I suppose.
You... you... you have a real good point there.

If I saw that socialist poster though, I'd feel very much obliged to get a thick black marker and write 'so what's the problem there?'
The problem is that socialism is a structure in which individuals have no economic freedom and pervasive confiscation of individual wealth by the government.

People think Obama is a socialist because they have no idea what socialism really is, or why they are scared of it really. The whole attitude is rather creepy, either the far end right has gone completely nuts or racism has a lot to do with what is going on. Strangest poster I saw was one saying no socialism and no walls, I mean no walls?
Berlin wall. Heard about it? It is probably a reference to that. Socialism is just the american boogeyman. In 20 years you will see poster like - no islam and no veils. Its just propaganda.

No, that's because Deep, DEEP down, our government at least makes a small amount of sense.

You would either have sold everything you have for the bill, or be crippled.

I think that the posters are a bit shallow, they've been around since Obama started sweriously running.
When George W Bush screwed the pooch (Iraq / Economy) there were very people that protested.
Then Obama comes to power and uses the rights of the office to try and mop up and 'Voila' the republicans are ready to jump on his every decision. I don't agree with all of his policies, but still...
Personally, I think most of it is just the conservative anger at Obama for winning the election
I agree, my friend gets in my face a lot because I like Obama, and he always says he's evil because he's passing bills that will doom us, yet he doesn't bring up any other possible way the economy could be fixed, like many conservatives I've heard..
People are just angry because he is making decisions during a tough time and passes bills that don't have their full effect right away.
But yes, everyone has an opinion.
Aha, no.

The democrats eviscerated Bush for every damn thing he did, from starting a sentence with a preposition to not pulling our support on a de-stabilized country.

At least the republicans are making a fuss over valid concerns. If you want to talk about brutally frivolous disrespect, look on the other side of the aisle.

yeah there was a booth at my college where he had a hitler 'stache. I dunno. He isn't a great president so far, but he isnt a horrible one. The guy at my school was going off about how he voted for obama and now his health care plan was socialist. I was like, "You just voted for Obama because he was black didn't you" He had no comeback.

I don't give a shit.

Just like I knew a whole bunch of people who created posters comparing Bush to Hitler or Photoshopping him in for Saturn in Goya's painting.

Stupid people make stupid posters.

this is kinda the same thing people did when Bush was in office, so I'm not suprised that the right wing is doing the same...although I do supect a hint of racism in them doing it.

I agree. I've heard a lot of people completely fail to understand the concept.
I don't get 'no walls" at all

We have very good reason to say that he is communistic... he wants to take over my industry next, they are talking about replacing Cisco Certifications with a governmental program to secure the internet as well as we would be required to give all security info to the government so that they have full control of our networks.
Source? Sorry, but I can't take your word for it.
I am at work right now... so I don't have time to go dredge it up... I will post it as soon as I get home and find it.
