So im getting a gamecube off of my brother and I was wondering: Is there any good games for this work of art? I've already got wind waker in my mind but is there any more?

Depends on what kinds he likes. Here is a list of my favs:
Wind Waker (which you said you already got, so A+)
Smash Brothers Melee (which has been stated)
Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door (RPG game)
Super Mario Sunshine (especially if he liked Mario 64)
Hunter the Reckoning (up to four player, top-down hack and slash)
Zelda Four Swords (if you have four GBA systems and the required cords)
Zelda Twilight Princess (it IS available for GC)
Harvest Moon (if he's into those)
many of the Resident Evil games are available on GC as well, including Zero and 4

As i was scrolling down to post I noticed I'd been ninja'd, but Paper Mario TTYD and Tales of Symphonia.
I can pull out my whole collection, but i can't really be arsed going upstairs because i'm lazy.
Off the top of my head, Resident Evil 4 is fucking amazing on the GC: much better than the PS2 port, but not as good as the PC version from what i hear.
The Day of Reckoning series (wrestling games) are fantastic aswell.

Its already been stated, but Eternal Darkness is easily the best game on that thing in my opinion. Often scary, but sometimes its just hilarious as well.
The only ones I can think of of the top of my head have already been said:

Why has there only been one vote for Metroid Prime?
Melee is also a solid choice, as is Killer 7 from what I've heard.
You can skip Sunshine; while it's not bad, it's certainly not up to the standard of pretty much any other Mario game.
