Whenever I hear it on radio, TV or whatever, it makes me cringe.
No idea why, it just does
yeah people need to start realizing the difference. Just like there is popular metal and "good" metal, there is good rap and shitty popular rap.Hellz_Barz said:how about we say 99% of commercial rap music sucks? cause even real rap fans would agree with you on that.Zeithri said:I'd say that 99% of all Rapmusic sucks ***.
I would not call you a degenerate of Society though, that's what I am for not having a job, not wanting a job and thinking that society at large sucks. I would only say that your taste in music is extreamly bad though![]()

As true as this is, is it also not the fault of radio stations/media who cause this? Out of personal experience, in the city I live in there are only two well known stations that play rap music actively, and both are actually designated as "new" stations that play recently released songs (they also only play low quality recent songs). Couldn't the whole idea that rap is disposable be changed if it was broadcasted in a different way?RubyT said:I don't like Rap, because a lot of it is just playing with Cubasic to create a nice loop and than speak some bullsh*t over it. Or, if you're really lazy, just "sample" somebody else's loops. Sure, there are a couple of Rap tracks (I won't call something a song that didn't bother to include a melody) that are fun, but in the grand scheme of things, it's rubbish.
How many Rap tracks from 2002 are still played on the radio today? Or from 1996? Rap is not music like that of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley or Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner. Contemporary Rap music will not be listened to in 40 years, because it's disposable. You listen to it for a couple of days, weeks, maybe months and then throw it out. As such, it's much closer to Twitter than Art.
You know why they're 'classic'? Because nothing that people produce these days is anywhere near as good as it was back then. I've listened and tried to get home with the downies down with the homies and honestly can't. Most of the music that is produced from rap is violent, dreadful and not to mention uninterpretible (taking a stab at that) because of the over-whelming "music" over the top of the "lyrics".AdambotLive said:Because i listen to rap music.
Really, why do people critisize a genre so much that they will refuse to listen to it at all? Eminem and Jay-Z have done some amazing songs, such as "Stan", "Empire state of mind" and "'Till I collapse"
And let's not forget the classics. Who can't remember Run-DMC, MC hammer and sir mix-a-lot?
