Ok I have a little understanding of warhammer 40k. Arn't Space Marines commanders clones of the Emperor, and thier troops are clones of thier commanders? hence the whole brother referances, meaning normal civilians can't become space marines? making alot of the autors points null and void?

Yes and no. THey're humans picked at a young age from each chapter homeworld, given a seed that is grown from older marines (The original seed being from the commanders, that were all designed 10,000 years earlier by the emperor, who is the captain america of the 40k universe)

Many of the points that he discussed though, could be put onto most other medias, so are just retardedly vague. The genetic mutation making you super powerful point for instance. Guess this guy hates Super Hero movies/comics/games.

And yes, the Imperium religion of worshiping the Emperer is based on older christianity, you have nuns, an inquisition, crusades. The Emperor is effectively Jesus, who dies for our sins and survival. "Immortal yet dead."
