crafted writing will always exaggerate stuff to make it more interesting. that why there are more books about adult detectives or spy's and what not rather than the accountant from Basingstoke. drug addled teens with nymphomania are more interesting that the ones who are sitting in sweat pants, watching TV and posting on forums at this very moment...Oh God! What am i doing with my life?

I go to an art school, so it's true that a lot of my friends are like that, but I'm not, as well as a couple of other people I know. I think the paranoia is not without reason, it just becomes very annoying, especially when you aren't performing any illicit activities.

It depends on your group of teens really the religious fanatics usually aren't, the lower class teens usually are and the upper class can afford to do it teens are. The middle class generealy aren't. But it all depends on where you live.

Let people do what they want, what right do we have to stop them? there happy where they are, and im happy where i am, mind you, there in a ses pool (i more then likley spelled that wrong) and i say ses pool because they run a high risk of catching somthing that hurts when they pee or worse, and im in a place where im happy having a nice, safe relationship with no drugs involved and we dont just have sex, we talk, we know each other.

To tell the truth, i never gotten the people that just have sex with people they dont know, i really just dont see what is so great about sleeping around. I hope im not the only one.

My mom thinks I'm going to have sex with my girlfriend every chance I get these days. All because she read The Tenth Circle by Jodi Piccoult.
Your mom should be more worried about you having sex with your gf cause your a male. :p
You mean that it isn't a consented act between two people? Do you mean that he's gonna jump on her and force her because he is a guy? Wrong choice of word Nalesnik.
? um no, my word choice was fairly satisfactory; The OP actually quoted me earlier, and he seemed to understand my joke. Lighten up, buddy.
Well i did too, but the way you wrote it was ambiguous. Granted, english isn't my first language but i remember my ?college? (it call cegep here, so i can be wrong. anyways, it after highschool)english class. Think about it! His mom should be more worried than her mom, why? Because he a male? Why the words "more worried"? Why his mom should be worried because he is a male? That lead to my conclusion... and my post.

What you meant was; Your mom should be worried about you having sex with your girlfriend because we know what guy always have in mind. LOL

And i, as a guy, can said it true... BUT WE ARE MADE BY WOMEN THAT WAY! Like i said to a lady friend of mine when she talk about her boyfriend may cheat on her; "Men are like play doh, if you don't play enough with it, it harden and become useless. So play with him more!"

And walking home today i walked pass a few people who looked about 14, one of which said "i feel like getting high" and another replied "yep - me too!" and this actually really shocked me :L

By the way? Does they still give free condoms in highschool now? I remember when i went, the consellor had a box full to which he gave some to student who asked him. The policy of the school was; We don't want you to do it, but if you do it protect yourself.

You know what worse? Parent that bought them clothes, watch anything and do anything is because they are too lasy! I worked a few years ago at gaz station. Everyday, i saw kid tring to buy alcool and cigarettes. I refuse. Than they send the parent. Refuse. Get verbally abuse. tell them to go to the nearest child protection service and end there collective existance. But one mother said to me: "I prefer to give her what she want than deal with the fuss if i don't." She was the mother of a foul mouth 14 years old drug addict girl who slept with a 22 years old junkie that had less brainpower than a goldfish!

I don't have high hope for the future... can you blame me?

It scares me. It really does. I mean, I know someone who has to have sex with their dealers to get their coke, and she's only thirteen. THIRTEEN. THAT'S NOT A GOOD THING. The worst part is, though, you have to, to be "cool". Good thing I'm not.
That is fucked up

Also, I don't know what kind of place you live in where being a 13 year old crackwhore is "in" nowadays- this society we are heading to is not a good one

I don't want sex... and I really dont want a drug addiction (My caffeine and video game addiction are hard enough to deal with :D). But, yeah I have friends who spend their weekends getting high, and other kids in my school get high and have sex. But I only ever hear of anyone using weed, cigarettes, or alcohol. But it would be a miracle if crack could get all the way up to MN without some authority finding it.

But basically a lot of teens do this or want this, but by no means all of them do it.

Most of the kids at my high school are completely obsessed with sex and drugs, but my high school is also the one that the American Pie movies were based on, so I don't know if I have the most fair point-of-view. They're pretty annoying, either way, especially because I'm asexual and haven't ever taken drugs.
are you kidding about your high school, that it inspired american pie?
I wish I was. The series creator actually based the movies on his time attending the school. Not much seems to have changed since then.

Fucked up teenagers are pretty normal around here.

I'm 16, I drink, I get stoned and, while I'm not sex-crazed, I know people who are. Plenty of people, actually.

Basically, I'm a senior at my school. The other seniors in my school range from 16 to 18. One of them had a party last week for their 18th birthday and pretty much invited all of the seniors. I was invited too because I'm "in" with the popular people. The vast majority turned up. & the vast majority of those who turned up, left shit-faced on booze and went to someone's house where we all proceeded to get stoned and I don't doubt at all that at least half of the people who came back to that house, went and had sex with someone.

Parties like that happen pretty much every week and during the summer we spend most of our time in the park drinking.

Maaaybe that's just because we're Scottish and that's the norm around here, or maybe my school is an isolated case. I very much doubt it's the latter.

I think half of the thrill of drinking underage is the fact that you're doing it when you aren't meant to. I know I get a thrill if I get served in a pub. And as for the sex, it's probably just because we can and when you're 16/17/18 you can have sex with someone without being pretty much forced into a serious relationship because you have the defence of "I'm too young for this".
Nah it's not just an isolated case, it's exactly the same for me, drinking and getting stoned. Though I don't drink that much, i'm more into other drugs.

I am a teenager and a virgin and every time someone at my school asks me if im a virgin they laugh and take the piss out of me so from experience im inclined to say, f*ck yes.

Oh and btw i recommend the song sad statue by system of a down, the lyrics kind of fit in with this topic ("you and me will all go down in history with a sad statue of liberty and a generation that didn't agree")

Alright, I'm noticing a trend lately. "Adult" Literature (No, not pornographic) seems to be depicting teens, anywhere from 14-19, as either sex-crazed or buying drugs.

Now, I'm not normally one to complain, but I can see where this is going to lead. Parents who read these books are going to become paranoid. They will try to match any sort of pattern in the book with their child's life, and then condemn them for it. Now I'm not saying there aren't teens that do this, but think about it. How many times do you see a teen in the news for something other than this kind of behavior? This is going to lead to the same kind of paranoia that will cause parents to suffocate their kids, instead of letting them experience life for themselves.

Why am I complaining about this? My mom thinks I'm going to have sex with my girlfriend every chance I get these days. All because she read The Tenth Circle by Jodi Piccoult. It depicts the kids drinking and having a rainbow party.

Feel free to shoot me down now.

Thank,

JGreg

I hate being a teenager on this site as I think everyone has "impressions" of me.

Here in South Africa the elitist groups never get involved with this. Because I have a high aggregate I'm in an elitist group. sort of. I am so glad that there is streaming in large schools. I wouldn't survive around the druggies.

When I finish this post my post count will say Sparta. 300 isn't enough!

In this country (Canada), stats seem to suggest that while the overall amount of young people drinking and going wild in their first year of uni is going down, those that choose to partake are drinking more and more heavily and creating more and more of a ruckus (people are still in their late teens when they start uni here).

As a result, I would assume that the common perception is that the kids these days are out of their minds, since the ones who stay home on Fridays and study don't make nearly as much noise and are not as destructive. Also, boring teens don't make for exciting or funny films.
