You lose.
I just did it because im nice o_o
And I got boob so shush.
Obviously you win then. So long as you don't mind that you've kind of stolen someone's girlfriend. Don't worry though, the really evil one here is her.

I think a huge amount of guys that consider themselves gentleman (oh, and so that we are clear, yes I am talking about the guys in this thread) are totally deluded about the concept and have perverted it such that normal men cringe at the thought of calling themselves a gentleman.

Being a white knight is not admirable and women can see right through you, you manipulative little boys.

I hold doors for women, talk to them with respect, verbally tear apart any man who speaks like the dregs of society, and act as much as I can with utmost chivalry.

I have had one girlfriend, never had women interested in me, in fact, lost women to assholes and prigs. Been treated as a doormat and a nuisance.

I'm starting to think that women in general are earning the quality of man they recieve today.

I feel sorry for them. And I end up drinking alone and angry.

As the French say, C'est la vive.
Pretty much this. I've always found it odd that women constantly complain that guys are such jerks & assholes, and yet they only ever seem to go for the jerks & assholes. You reap what you sow ladies.

I like to think myself as a gentleman to a certain extent, I would pay a bill for a date (even after much arguing from a girl who always wants to split it) I am often courteous. I am not just doing it as an act but because I treat others the way I wish to be treated... sadly others don't seem to treat me as they wish too (they often like to step on other people and expect to be treated with utmost respect)

Im generally inclined to let everyone go first, get the last doughnut, take the last coke etc.... because it ususally makes them happy and i like it when others are happy.
On a complete off topic for a second here: I totally take the last cookie. I'm saintly freeing everyone from guilt and mental torture of wondering if they should take that cookier or not.

It seems like there are a lot of bitter people here who are stuck up on the notion that if they act like what they percieve as the perfect gentleman then pussy should just come there way. Girls don't want the perfect gentleman who is a doormat. That is a bland and boring person and if you do put a girl on a pedastal your treating her as a pet that your taking care of and not a human being.

Of course I don't claim to know how women think this is just from peronsal experience...

*cough* Gentlemen...

I like to think I fit into that category. I hold open doors(even if they don't go through them, bitches), I let the ladies sit first(most of the time), and I offer to pay.(at least for my own meal if I can't afford to pay for everything. But sometimes the girls want to pay.)

Of course... I haven't been on a date in...*counts*... Eight Months? I'm so lonely.

Agreed. Look, guys, this thread alone is case and point: you all make such a big deal of being a "gentleman", and what the fuck has it done for you? The general rule seems to be that if you're a gentleman, you don't get the girl...feel free to prove me wrong, but take a good hard look at the thread and see what you find.

Also, I'm pretty sure that real gentlemen can passionately make love to a woman and give her thrills like never before.

You're not a gentlemen just by being polite to strangers.

I try to be a gentleman, but if a woman takes advantage of that (or if anyone does), then I don't see why I should be - although I am not rude to them either.

Maybe the guy was low on cash, or his girlfriend was going to pay but forgot her purse. He might even was having a bad day. But still, it was rude of him.

I love how everybody, and I mean everybody, offers up the qualification "I hold doors open" as proof of their being a gentleman.

Yeah, they either take advantage of the courtesy or take offence to it.

Why the post?
Seems a bit self congratulatory...
But whatever.
I guess they all got bored of being gentlemen and moved to this forum.
:p

I can be a gentleman to women, namely the ones I fancy. Other than that I'm a right dick, it's more fun ;)
