Florida's not that nice anyway.
Bullshit, Florida is quite awesome. Well, the beaches are. The rest of Florida can secede, and we'll annex the beaches (including the gorgeous models who frequently visit them.)

There are a lot of assholes in the USA, and unfortunately they are the ones that tend to get the international attention. Most Americans I've met seem nice enough, but I have also met quite a few people who give their countrymen a bad name.

I love my country. Sure, Bush was stupid, but I agree with the war. Do any Americans disagree with us going into WWII for pearl harbor? Then we should go to Iraq for 9/11.

But the government's fucked. The economy's pretty fucked. And, overall, America is a fucked up place nowadays.

EDIT: As a right-winger, I take some criticism for my opinions, so I try to stay out of threads where I'll want to say what I think.

I do an extremely bad job.
Not one of the 9/11 terrorists was from Iraq. Thats why we went to Afghanistan. We went into Iraq because our leaders picked and chose from intelligence to make it sound like he could drop a dirty weapon on Europe within an hour. Turns out -surprise surprise- this was false. Reading between the lines it was motivated by oil and a vendetta on JWBs part.

If any good came from 9/11 it is only that America stopped funding the IRA as terrorism was no longer cool.

Sorry but you have just embarrassed yourself pretty badly there.

1: The militants were mainly from Afghanistan, Saddam Hussain was president of Iraq.

2: The Taliban were from Afghanistan, the Al Queda are from Iraq.

See what I mean? The sad thing is that most Americans who support the war cannot tell the difference and that is why they receive so much scorn when it comes to the Middle East; they don't seem to know who they are fighting or why.
No need to heap scorn on him, we can all get our facts wrong from time to time, for example Fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon. None from Afghanistan...

A fair share of them are, yes.

Now I, personally, couldn't care less about "my" country.
But I am a little fucking sick of all the stereotyping that goes on - stereotyping that wouldn't be alright if it were directed elsewhere, I imagine.

It's a little like how it's only okay to discriminate against white males.
I have to say that America does deserve some of the shit it gets, but calling us to emotional? That's quite frankly ridiculous.

It's like in school when everybody rags on everyone who's smart, like it's a bad thing.

I'm British and I actually hate my country and love America. I think I might have been some kinda mistake and shoulda been born in America. I've been to NYC, Philadelphia and D.C. and they're just the greatest places in the world! Well, actually Philadelphia was quite a shit hole lol but I can't wait 'til I move to NYC. Americans (at least the ones that I met over there) seem to be much happier than the miserable pricks and football hooligans I'm surrounded with a lot of the time

Really? REALLY? You didn't go to IRAQ because of 9/11, you went to Afghanistan. You went to Iraq because they were 'developing WMDs'. Also, I like the Americans in general, when I go there you're all generally nice. So I'd say you're far from being screwed.

I've never been anti-anti-American. I just treat you guys like I would treat a friend of mine in real life. Y'know. Casually insulting, but it's alright cos we're all friends really.
That comes back to the whole which is the greater sin, stopping something that we think might happen, or waiting for it to happen and trying to stop it then?

I"m a proud American, though I'm not proud of how my country degrades every year since I've started living. Everyone thinks Bush was evil, but was LBJ? Both of them were handed a situation and they acted on it the best way it could be done. I feel honored to have been led by people who will put aside their own needs to do what they think is right for all and still get slapped after it. Also I'm tired of people claiming Bush destroyed the economy. If you know anything about economic trends, you'll realize that it fluctuates all the time. I can't believe people are comparing it to the great depression(or were) when it hasn't even gotten as bad as the drops before the second war.

On the subject of war, I'm tired of people saying all it does is destroy the world. Despite what pacifists try to believe, fighting is a part of nature. And war brings in demand for goods, and production of those goods helps boost the economy. With boosted economy comes happier people(though inflation actually should make them worry.)

Anyways, I just wish people would take responsibility for once, and instead of blaming each other, blame everyone; because everyone knows there's two sides to the coin.

I hate some Americans simply because they inform us all that they have the exclusive ear of God. They even tout that crap on this site.

Killing abortionists
Katrina hit New Orleans because it was a den of sin
The world is only 12,000 years old.
Creationism? Are you fricking serious?

Do not get me wrong, I realize these are "extremists", but I have to ask, how come there are so many "extremists" in your government?

In any event, we own you in hockey,,, so haha...

and go Blue Jays! Canada's team that has only 2 Canadians on it.

Didn't you know? It's popular on the Internet to hate on America. It's like plus five epeen dude! Omgz.

On a side note... Picking on Americans for their government's mistakes is kinda like punching a quadruple amputee. That's just mean. They can't really do anything about it and you know it.

They can - most won't.

I dont particularly like America as a country for the way they conduct themselves on a global scale but I wouldn't judge an individual American citizen on that

As someone who lives here, I'm afraid there are no gorgeous models who frequent our beaches.
There are only whales.

And sometimes there are whales from the ocean as well.

Seriously, fuck Florida.
It's hot and everyone who is mildly attractive is so sunburnt that it's impossible to look at them without wanting to vomit.

I can't see what you're saying here - that emotions are good?
They cause otherwise intelligent people to do stupid things.
If they are truly intelligent, then they won't let extreme emotions corrupt their logical thinking.

EDIT: Oh yeah, human nature.

No, generally the whole world is anti-American outside of America.
You forgot those of us inside America, as well. There are times when I wonder if America will single-handedly bring forth the end of the world(or WWIII(whichever comes first)). Of course, I wonder about other countries with this mindset, as well.

Don't get me wrong, I like my country, but unless the people truly get a say in what we do, our country is in the hands of a government that mainly works beyond the people's influence.
