in the same school i mentioned earlier we had an african american culture club. it was a nice place for african american descendents to get togheter and cook/learn about african american things, and everyone else that wanted to learn was welcome.

so i put in a request for a caucasian club, same premise, we get to learn and cook and do the cool things caucasians do and everyone is welcome. GUESS WHAT IM RACISST. according to the school at least.
Seeing as the majority of people in the US are Caucasian and there really isn't anything to discuss I can't say I see any draw to that kind of club.

And I think that is somewhat justified (somewhat!) since "White clubs" are generally platforms for people to organize lynchings and such.
i didnt think i was gonna get any members, i was doing it to prove a point. double standards in supposedly neutral businesses.

i think i proved it.

The only reason - and I mean the ONLY reason - for cotton wool-wrapped children is suing.
If we wrap kids up in cotton wool then the parents can't sue.
The children can't cope with society and don't understand pain but on the plus side the government isn't sued.

Children should be allowed to be children, and the only way that can happen is by introducing the concepts of adrenaline and pain.
That is exactly what I mean. I was brought up without restraints, Going out and climbing up extremely high tree's, doing stupid stuff, yea it hurt at the time, but I'm all the better for doing that.

It's not appropriate in school because it wouldn't be appropriate in the workplace. People get fired for wearing too much cologne/perfume, so why wouldn't kids get sent home for wearing something controversial?

School is there for kids to learn, not make controversial statements. Save that for when you go out on the weekends.

EDIT: On a side note, there was a kid who cross dressed and he came to school several times dress like a woman, and no authority figure said anything to him. I guess it's all about where you grow up.
Yes, well, while the whole theory of "School is here to learn" is kinda ruined by the fact that the schools flip out about random bullshit, and send you home! When you are suspended or sent home, how the hell are you learning? Especially if you are sent home as this guy was.

I have a record of maybe 6 things the school sent me home for. All of them apparently "gang related".

1st was the mohawk, 2nd was BLUE SHOESTRINGS, 3rd was a red backpack, 4th was because I had a few blue streaks in my hair, 5th was for me wearing BLUE CAMO and 6th was because I had reading glasses with a blue tinted frame.
The mohawk was understandable, but seriously.. Getting sent home for wearing BLUE SHOELACES?

Fcuk with two letters switched around is fuck. It's the same reason why alcoholic beverage t-shirts are banned in schools. Just be happy you don't have to wear uniforms.
Yea, Uniforms are horrible. Uniforms completely undermine free expression, especially in Comprehensive schools.

The mohawk WAS NOT understandable. My entire head was shaved and had a VERY SMALL amount of hair left in the middle. Meanwhile, people had fucking words in their hair like Slap a Hoe, Tug Life and many others. (To this day, I don't know how in the fuck they got the full "Slap a Hoe" thing across their heads)

School is meant for learning. Not just for the kid who got sent home, but for every other kid in the school. The school was trying to protect their other however many thousand students while punishing that one who made a bad decision. If that one kid would like to join his friends in class again, he won't make the same bad decision.

I had a John Lennon shirt that said "You're still fucking peasants as far as I can see". I felt like it was just a word, they felt like it was...well...I'm not sure what they felt, but I got sent home.

It isn't so bad for me but I don't really express myself through clothes. I just sorta put on some shit to cover my nudity. I guess there shouldn't really be uniforms because of the people that do but I'm not really bothered by it.

uniforms are cool because teachers taht dont like you cant interpret things the way they chose to and send you home for no reason.

thats like saying that someone cant wear a t-shirt with a kickflip off a roof that said "sick" at the bottom to express the awesomeness of it because its 1 letter away from saying dick.

how about we ban the word "shot" in school because its 1 letter away from shit.

or beach because it sounds like *****.

see...you cant because its stupid. theres nothing at all wrong w/ having fcuk on ur tshirt in a learning environment.

If I wanted to express myself, there's a time and a place. When I'm there to learn to pass exams, it doesn't really feel like the time.

Plus I looked positively dashing in my old school uniform.

I don't see the point of uniforms. Maybe on a field trip since there are a LOT of people and they don't want the children to get lost or left behind. However, overall, I hate it. A uniform will NOT stop somebody from doing/saying stupid shit. Idiot staff in school is the reason I dropped out of 8th grade to join a military program. It saved me years of bullshit.

Well, the French Connection does like to make risque innuendo using its logo. Because while it very obviously looks like a vulgar word, it technically isn't. Which is why it's kinda funny.

Looks like your school didn't care for the joke.

Actually, it's pretty easy to tell a crip/blood from a person just wearing blue/red. Even wannabe crips/bloods are easy to see. I spent about 3 years in that school. I was one of the only 4 white kids there. The rest were black and most of them called themselves either crips or bloods.

I observed for about a year. It got to the point where I would ask someone I never paid attention to if he/she thought they were a crip/blood. I was 100% correct in all of my guessing.

Edit: No racism intended in what I just typed.
It probably is really easy to tell, but school teachers cannot really afford to mistake these things.
I'd rather have over cautious teachers than relaxed ones, but that's just me.
What happened to you sucks for sure, I'll give you that.

The hell? That stands for French Connection United Kingdom doesn't it? Whats innapropriate about that? It's pure coincidence that it's similar to fuck. Should they stop teaching R.E because its the first half of "retard"? Somebody might find it offensive!
You blew that completely out of proportion, Using a terrible example.

You see "FCUK" can commonly be mistake for "FUCK"

"R.E" is not commonly mistaken for "RETARD" because only a retard would not see the other 4 letters.
The exaggeration was really obviously intended. Don't tell me you took me seriously there. I was just pointing out that it's completely ridiculous to associate a brand name with similar initials to Fuck with the word itself.

The school was trying to protect their other however many thousand students while punishing that one who made a bad decision. If that one kid would like to join his friends in class again, he won't make the same bad decision.
However, when the school's administration constantly looks for such things, just to send someone home, that is when it flaws that theory. I went to a school, where each day, when you go up the stairs, a teacher would eye you over, looking at your uniform, always checking for someone who's uniform was untucked. He would always call two or three people over to him at the last minute, so they would stuff their shirts in their pants, and then be tardy for class.
Then, they would send a security guard in the classes, to check and see if you were wearing any wrong belts or jackets or whatever.

All of that, is an example of what makes the "School is for learning" point moot.
