my school if you even defend, that includes blocking a punch, knocking a weapon out of the attackers hand, throwing a punch back, or a grabbing a hold to subdue the attacker, yourself in a fight you get expelled from county schools. This is so dumb so every time they tell us this i protest that it is a bull-$^%# rule.
P.S. if a shirt would have a curse word you have to, tape the word with duct tape, change the shirt, or be suspended.

I can't even say half the things I wanna say without being suspended off forums or games for it. I can't even say half the things I feel without someone thinking I'm trolling.
So instead I just stay quiet and pleasant so I'm not removed from the school or viewed as an asshole for explaining truth to people that they don't wanna see. :/

Me and a friend died our hair blue, I was asked to change mine and she wasn't, The next day I hadn't change mine so they sent me home, I came back with my mum (grown up thing to do at 17 I know) who ripped into the principle for a good 20 minutes because as a boy I was expected to have a "normal" hair colour whereas a girl could colour hers freely. Got to love sexual equality!

On my last week of 8th grade, I was in this Tutorial class Trying to do my busy work,when this kid about two seats down from me,increase the volume of his voice to under a yell.
I asked him several times to the volume,But he kept up even if the other person started to talk in a lower voice. I then decided to pull a little prank on him.
I leaned over to my friend who was sitting beside me,and said in a fake whisper(Loud enough so he could hear and soft enough it sounded like a whisper) "Hey If I killed some body,would you tell on me"(pointing to person with eyes) he replied "it depends who it is" (both of us chuckle at the kid's look on his face). It seemed to work he got the message(so I thought)and quieted down,and then the next morning some thing happened..... I was called to the principle's office.
She(principle),the assistant principle,and several guidance councilors told me that The boy and his parent's thought I was serious and wouldn't let their son come to school.Then I was asked for my side of the story.
Then something I didn't expect happened,they all told me that since I been here they knew me well enough to know when I am telling a joke.I also asked every Teacher and student I knew,and they all agreed I was joking.
I got a call from the boy's mom as soon as I got home, She kept on saying "I was a bad kid and should be in jail".
I don't know if he was stupid are just had no sense of humor because he was the only person in the school(that I knew) that Thought I was serious.

I've seen worse happen, in eighth grade a student was suspended for wearing a plain white T-shirt, it was called a gang symbol and there was a mass retalition the next day in which about 75% of the students wore plain white T-shirts as a form of protest. So people do freak out. Sorry if I'm something of a story topper lol.

Schools are a special case. Below college, there is an increased likelihood in the number of teachers who suffer to some degree with a superiority complex. The mentality of teaching and administration staff, escpecially in secondary schools, is often highly sensitive and utterly asinine. I used to have teachers that were so completely self rightous, it was insufferable to be around them. I don't condemn all teachers as such, since in my school years I had some fantastic teachers who could teach and interact normally with other people. The education system is full of psychologically ill people, you just have to find a way to deal with it.
A couple of years ago I was sent home from school because I was wearing a CAD t-shirt which said "I play video games for medicinal purposes. My doctor prescribed them to prevent spontaneous gallbladder explosion". The reason was it could be taken as offensive by those with medical conditions. The fuck?

You will have plenty of time to "express yourself" in college or uni or whatever, and wearing a uniform does not change people's personality or individuality. Putting effort in at school and making friends and such is far more important that fussing about the fact that you dont have to bother deciding what to wear in the morning for 5 days a week.
As far as the OP goes, that is pretty absurd. I guess if your school does not have a uniform then they don't really have the right to tell people what they can and cant wear, they have burned their bridges so to speak. If they did have a uniform code though, it would be more understandable. And yes, society is seemingly terrified of offending anyone, but what ya gonna do?

The totalitarian country statement comes from many other "politically correct" things to do, say, wear, etc. etc. and that people are punished more for doing things politically incorrect than say stealing. The government is really hammering home the "you will conform or else" way of life, and what's worse is we as a population, are just letting them.

Yes, yes we do. Swine flu being the big example at the moment. Its as dangerous as normal flu yet due to the "impending pandemic threat" when I go to church instead of shaking hands when we are asked they now suggest we just nod to eachother to prevent spread. I noticed that my school could care less about most things, like how I flicked off someone in front of the teacher, or how on two seperate occasions I got into religious debates with my teachers in the middle of class...but God help you if you violate the dress code! My teacher made me take off my fingerless emo gloves, and I saw the vice principal make my friend take the chains off his jeans...Irony: another friend of mine wears a shirt that has an emo razor with blood pouring off the bottem of it, but she's never got in trouble for it...
