I think I read quite fast, but sometimes I get distracted and find that I've read an entire page without comprehending a word of it.

I don't know. I read faster then most people my age, but it took me about three months to read The Grapes of Wrath (reading roughly forty minutes a day), but I've heard that some people have finished it in a weak.
Maybe because that book is a ***** to get through.

At least it was for me.

I struggled through that thing. Only time I've ever been more disappointed in a book was War and Peace.

Goddamn that book was so mentally draining.
I know. I picked it up because I wanted to read it, and only finished to prove I could. I still don't get the ending though, it's just total mind screw.
Which one? Grapes of Wrath or War and Peace, because I couldn't finish either.
Grapes of Wrath, I've never read War and Peace.
Ah, well here's some advice:

Don't.

Don't do it. That book is a struggle, you will kill yourself over trying to finish it.

1300 pages of constant bullshit my ass! I couldn't make it past 400

It really depends on the size of the pages and the font... For full 8 1/2 x 11 pages with 10 or 12 font, I can read about a page a minutes, and on smaller books, 100 pages an hour.

Yes, I read naturally fast. I find myself reading faster if I'm bored by the book and I read really when reading a great book.

I read at about the pace that I talk, stopping every now and then if I miss a word or get confused.

If I'm told to read aloud I fail epically though.

I read pretty slowly, as I like to savour each page and absorb the detail. If I'm reading to revise for a test, however, I read at a bit faster than average, still nothing amazing.

I've always been a pretty fast reader, and I still am, although it takes me more motivation these days because the texts I read are for my course as opposed to for pleasure.

When reading for pleasure, I can get through a decent sized book in less than a day. However, compare it to my books I have to read for my course, then it can take me longer if I don't enjoy it or if I'm lacking any real motivation. For example, back when I was in Year 12, I had to read Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks. Now, for pleasure, a book like that would maybe take me a day. However, reading it for my AS at the time, it was significantly less interesting than I had hoped, and subsequently, it took me around a week to get through.

I read really slow. In fact, when I was young my teachers suspected me of having dyslexia because I was such a shitty reader (and writer, for that matter).

Never bothered me all that much, to be honest.

In Norway we have yearly reading tests, on my last test i got about 380 words per minute, that was blazing as fast as i could through the text.
Reading novels and the like i'll slow down quite a bit, tough i have not measured it.
When i read the Animorphs-series a couple years ago i would read one book, around 140 pages, in about one and a half hour.
I started reading books in English when i was around 11 (a book i wanted to read wasn't translated yet, so it was the only option.)

I think I am, but sometimes I tend to misread stuff (especially when tired/sleep deprivated).

Depends on what I'm reading. If I'm reading something very accessible and not very difficult, like, for example, a thriller by Michael Crichton or a novel by Stephen King I tend to read fairly quickly. But if I'm reading something that requires a bit more thought on my end, I tend to read much slower. For example when I read Gravity's Rainbow I commonly went over a single paragraph a couple of times before moving on. Made for a looooong read.

I'm unbelievably fast. I find it boring and pathetic at the speed other people can read.
To compliment this, I can also type extremely fast and write! Yay speed demons!

My reading speed sped up with each Harry Potter book I read. The first took a week, the second took three days, and after that each one took a single day.

I read a ton when I was a kid, so now I have the ability to read extremely fast. However, I can only reach top, uninhibited speeds when I'm truly interested in the subject. If it's something boring, I have to stop and keep doubling back to reread things I accidental skimmed over.

If I'm motivated and the text is a nice font (none of that Arial bullshit) I can read a page in less than twenty seconds, sometimes fifteen. Is that good?

I always finish ahead of other people, but my school is HORRIBLE at reading and writing.

I've always been fast at reading. When I got the Harry Potter books, my parents would read them to me, then after they left I'd read about 30 pages onwards from where they stopped, only to insist that they start reading again from where they stopped, not where I did.

I still read quickly, but not so much at the moment because I have been extremely tired for about a month for some reason.

Friends have said that I am a quick reader because I can go through a 200-300 page novel in a few days.

My books are my real friends.
