Let me ask you this. Would you sign a business contract that will never yield any profit, and will cost you half of everything you own if either you or the other person opts to end the contract?

Nobody in their right mind would do that, except for every man that ever married a woman.

As long as "commitment" is defined by such a stupid concept, I will proudly fear it.

Haha well put but you could just get a pre-nup cause in the words of kanye west "it's somethin' that you need to have cuz when she leaves yo' ass she gon' leave with half"

I have no issue with commitment. Granted, I never found dating to be all that interesting unless I truly found someone with devoting my time and life towards. I don't ask anyone out just because I don't find myself wanting to do so, so I really only date when a girl will ask me. Currently, my shortest relationship was 3 1/2 years, so I would say commitment comes easy to me if the person is worth it, but then again, I see it as this: "If the person is worth dating, they are worth dating long-term." I truly have no interest in anything short term. I've been with my current girlfriend for a year and a half (as of tomorrow exactly) and we plan to be together until we essentially turn into dust. So, commitment issues? Not here.

Haha i know you see it that way and it gave me a nice little laugh when i saw your post and in my head i thought "damn, it probably does seem like that now haha" but what you guys didnt see is that after reading what people posted on here I decided to look into what commitment phobia actually is (it IS a real phobia) and I believe that I used to have it but then I just started having cynical views about relationships in general maybe it was a defense mechanism idk but I guess I'm sorry if I came off like I just wanted to brag or some shit like that

am i afraid of commitment, to the contrary i would be 100% commited in any relationship but i'm sure anyone will find it confusing that i am when i say i don't believe in marriage. I don't believe in marriage mostly because it seems like a big hype for something i would do anyway if she was someone i loved. im not outright in saying ill never get married because if the one i loved wanted to be married i would do it for her but otherwise i think marriage it self is a load of expensive bs. i shouldn't have to pay everyone under the sun so i can break up or get together with someone. but then maybe im just cheap. who knows?
