Usually I'm a optimist, but that can waver from blind optimism to blind pessimism, depending on my mood.

I used to be much more pessimistic.

Short term pessimist, long term optimist. I'm pretty sure that the human race can and will continue to amaze me with stupid shit each and every day for the rest of my life, but I also can see that the human race is better off than it was a few hundred years ago, and things should get better over time, even if they don't directly apply to my life.

I am a strongly optimistic and a realist.

Nothing is ever as bad as it seems and everything happens for a reason with all hardships neccesary to teach us lessons or make us stronger for coming hardships. Death is just a transition, the future looks brighter and brighter as we move towards a more peaceful world, and the vast majority of people I meet are all basically good and decent deep down, under their stress and worry. Even on a cloudy day the sun still shines.

I used to be a realist with pessimistic tendencies (i.e., others considered me a cynic) but nowadays I'm rather optimistic because things, while not perfect, generally worked out for me.

I'm an Optimist Primist. Which also coincidentally makes me a Maximizist and a Transformist.

Seriously, though, I find pessimism a more cautious outlook on life, albeit more depressing.

I tend to be a optimistic realist. I cant see a point to life, and i believe that the world isn't fucked up (by my definition of fucked up), but I'm happy about it.

Sorta like cutting your own balls off with an axe, but being happy about it.

many many cookies for the one who gets the very obscure reference that embarrasses me.

Some may say that the glass is half full.
Others would say that the glass is half empty.

I say that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

One side believes that this is the best possible world. And the other believes that this is the best possible world.

What about being a realist?

Is being a deluded Optimist or depressing Pessimist closer to the 'Reality'?

I consider myself an optimistic realist. I see that if people can put hard work and hours into getting what they want, they will succeed. Unfortunately, I know I'm an lazy ass.
I am an extremely optimistic realist.

Interestingly this means I go into things expecting the worst.

Yet I always am either surprised or pleasantly reminded of my abilities to predict the future.

Hasn't failed me yet.

People say it is pessimism, but given the way I view the assumption I take it as optimism.

Some old guy at work said that and I thought he meant that he didn't eat too much.

On text it jumps out at me what he meant.

In Biological psychology we found that optimists almost always live longer than pessimists given that all other variables are relatively similar. Makes recovering from bullshit WAY easier apparently.

Although I try to be optimistic I'm a realist leaning over very close to being a pessimist. Always prepared for the worst.
