I don't think I know a single person who doesn't have a game console of some sort. Games like Guitar Hero have really made gaming a social event.
Now when I go to parties there is almost always some kind of videogame running in addition to everything else. Gaming is nothing to be ashamed of. It would be like being ashamed of watching movies.
That said, there is always room for more hobbies. If all I did was game then I would probably start to feel intellectually repressed. I'm not just a gamer, I'm also a musician, a biker, a skier, a sailor, an amateur historian and a decent artist (only with pencil and charcoal. I can't get my head around paint).
So if you are getting tired of gaming, take up a new hobby in addition to it.
