I get annoyed to hell when people use certain things that makes everything you do ridiculous. There's just times when you DONT use some things. Simple.

I don't see what is noob about taking advantage of something that can get you a few more kills that usual.

Well, if a certain thing is cheap or noobish (such as martyrdom and rocket launchers) then I suppose that I agree with the observation that said article is cheap or noobish (normally there is a good reason behind these accusations).

I find that it is often the sneaky individuals who use said cheap/noobish tactics who are the ones who defend them and get annoyed with people pointing out the lack of sportsmanship these approaches suffer from (although not every weapon/item/upgrade that is highlighted is unbalanced there are quite a few that are).

as for glitching, its only really fun when everybody can agree to do it and the outcome of the match be damned, were gonna have some fun. ive been lucky enough to get a few matches like that, and though im no master glitcher or anything i genuinely had fun.

Not nearly as much as i hate people using the term scrub. I've obviously been spending too much time on fighting games cos it gets thrown about like confetti.

I think there are things in games i'd consider 'cheap', for some reason people who wander around inside buildings with a rifle grenade ready on bf 1943 irritates me more than it should. It just says, i dont think im good enough to actually shoot you so im gonna try and luck out on the one hit kill weapon :p

It's true that the terms "cheap" and "noobish" are thrown about a lot in games, there are weapons and abilities in certain games that require little to no skill to use. The Grenade Launcher in CoD 4 and the MP40 in CoD WaW are examples.

The Grenade Launcher is overpowered, accurate, deadly, and requires absolutely no skill to aim in the enemy's general direction. In Hardcore gametypes, it's possible to wipe out entire teams with one or two well-placed grenades, aimed artillery style.

The MP40 is the most overpowered gun in WaW, and is available at a very early level. With the MP40, especially with Stopping Power, takes about three to five shots to kill. When equipped with Juggernaut, you essentially become an unstoppable killing machine with excellent power, and decent rate of fire.

When you are given the option to wield a super strong weapon that can win you the match or use a crap weapon for the sake of not being noobish then YOU are the noob for not using the tools you've been given effectively.

My policy is that if someone is "cheap" be cheap back to them. If they're being "cheap" and you don't fight back with the tools to kill them, then you frankly are the noob.

If you think tossing a grenade wildly at the start of a CoD4 match and getting a kill is skill then go screw yourself.

Cheap? Not really, anyone can do it.
Noobish? Well, it doesn't require any skill but equally it doesn't stop skilled people from doing it?
Relies entirely on luck? Yes. Yes it does. Try to pass off that kill as 'skillful' and I will laugh you off the server.

It's annoying to be killed in such a manner, but it's neither 'cheap' nor 'noobish'.

That's just blind luck. Which happens to the noobiest of the noobs and the skillfulled of the skilled. Calling it skillfull though, is a load of rubbish.

It's annoying when they say that about the weapon/class/strategy you use.
Pyro is a valid class damnit.

But it's true that things like spawn-killing or using glitches are cheap and annoying. Those take the fun out of a game for both sides.

Yes. I am. Almost. they can be fun to watch moaning about how "1337" you aren't.

Even though I don't usually use anything that is considered so, it annoys me if my team mates are bitching about something. I found some servers that allow everything and the admins enjoy mocking the people that cry about it, that is fine and bitches get kicked and we can talk about worthwhile things. (Worthwhile used very loosely)

No, I really am not sick of it. I will use an example from Cod5 to try and illustrate this. I will creatively use a mp40 class with camoflague on team deathmatch and while the 2 teams are shooting at each other in lines like they are british redcoats or something i will sneak around back when the enemy uses radar. People depends far too much on their maps. I can usually take out a cluster of them before they realise i am there. But this gets irritating when you come around and see the same sterotypical idiot who thinks he is mad pro and brags all the time because he has an mp40 and juggernaught on. It is dumb. All the people with the skills and good tactics are being dragged down by the simple fact that the mp40/juggernaught combo is overpowered. This i consider noobish, Especially when i get frustrated, Throw on juggernaught and utterly rape this guy before he rage quits.

What I fear the most is something that I'm seeing a trend towards in certain games.
Mind you it hasn't happened yet, but I think it's only a matter of time.
And that is the ability to buy with real world money additional gear that gives you an advantage.
I'm already seeing hints of this being considered by some developers and it's a really bad idea.
It would pretty much ruin multiplayer for me, because I only pay for my games once.

the only thing that tics me of and makes me call someone a noob is when they camp in one spot with the shot gun, the thing is, that one spot is a room that is just big enough to survive the grenade thrown in, and the room is the one room you need to go through to get to the other side of the map. thats is extreamly annoying.

My response is:

"I got the kills, yet you call me a noob?"

If something gives an advantage it should be used, not using it through choice voids your right to complain when you fall victim to it.

Excusé moi, mon ami? I'm not sure I follow your point here.
He means they all stand still in two lines and shoot at each other, like in the days of muskets.

If that was meant ironically I apologise, the humidity is interfearing with my sense of humour
