Now this on the other hand, people have every right to complain. You can kill us but we can't kill you? Yeah how is that like real war?
Well let's see, we have:

vs.

a bunch of people armed with AK-47s, RPGs and various explosive devices.

I'm going to put money on the B-2 being the least threatened in this scenario.

People think certain aspects of games are cheap for a reason. The grenade launcher in CoD 4 requires practically no skill; aim in the general direction of someone, fire, and hope they don't hide behind a wall. And it's a one-hit kill.
But surely if you're more 'skilled' then you can kill them easily?

I'm personally sick of it. If I'm using a superior strategy to you then you should find a better strategy. When playing Halo 3 I used the Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle combo that takes down their shields with the Plasma Pistol and takes them out with the Battle Rifle. I was called a noob for this since it didn't take skill. I never said it did but it works very well as a strategy.
Greater skill does mean greater ease when killing someone. But there is a difference between being skilled and being cheap.

If you have great skill, you can should be able to use more than just a few weapons effectively, as well as be able to get out of tight situations. Being cheap, however, is when you just do the same thing every time and not show any variety in tactics.

I feel that some strategies that are un-intended or unbalanced can get annoying, and if you are going to exploit them, then don't do it forever and ever. But I occasionally use exploits in multiplayer games to my advantage, but I try not to ruin other's fun by doing it.

I think once you're ruining others fun, you've gone too far. At the end of it all, we're all gaming to have fun, and if you're making someone's gaming time un-enjoyable, then you're going too far.

It's much better to get a honest kill in a game than a cheap, un-balanced one. But sometimes when I'm using a strategy that isn't overpowered/un-intended that people are complaining about, I get annoyed when they tell me personally that I am being a "n00b" or whatever.

EG: "W + M1" -ing. This is a TF2 term for someone who uses the flamethrower and just basically holds W and Mouse1. Now, I will shotgun enemies that are out of reach, but I'd sooner set myself on fire than intentionally NOT kill someone because they think trying to kill them by keeping hold of a button is lame. I once shot a random burst of my flamethrower and set a cloaked spy on fire, so I followed him and continued to set him ablaze until he had died. He then typed "noob W+M1er" or something like that. But... I had a flare-gun as my second weapon and he was out of reach of my axe; What the shit was I supposed to do!? Let him get away!?

But anyway, my point is; as long as you don't abuse something over and over and over, or keep using the same winning strategy over and over and over, then it's fine. You should want to make it more of a challenge, because it's more fun that way!

I agree that people overuse the cheap/noobish argument. Seriously, we understand that you don't like a weapon/feature of a game, but if the game developers bent to the whims of every player out there, people would be throwing rocks at each other from across an empty square room. (And even then, people would complain about map geometry and the fact that some rocks aren't equal to others.)

I may find some things frustrating (Grenade launcher, martyrdom) but I don't think they're cheap. And hearing people call others "noob"" makes me want to slit their throats.

And to add to these, my friends ALWAYS use the annoying as hell, "OH! Apparently..." statements when they screw up and think it's the game.

I am sick of this myself. I have been playing W@W alot this summer, because I enjoy it. I unlocked a rifle grenade for a weapon, garand I think, and was having fun with it in team deathmatch. I use it to take out snipers in positions and other things that are usually hard to counter.

The weapons, perks, and attachments in the CoD games are like a complex game of rock-paper-scissors. Gun X takes 7-10 bullets to kill a guy. Add stopping power and it goes to 3-5. You counter this with juggernaut, which is countered again by stopping power. People get pissed when it becomes harder to kill somebody/stay alive when the person finds the counter to their weapon. Same goes for the "noob tubes" and mines. They are all countered with other perks, flak jacket and bomb squad respectively.

It's utterly stupid.

I have heard almost every weapon, perk and tactic in COD4 called 'cheap' and 'noobish'.

The P90.

The M16.

The grenade launcher

The MP5.

The RPD with grip.

Juggernaut

Snipers.

Shitgunners.

Rushers.

Martyrdom (though this is very annoying on hardcore)

...

...I even had one idiot call me cheap for using my G36C.

I love my G36C.

I completely agree. So what if I spent the entire time sniping you from a hundred feet away? That's your problem.

It's fucking annoying when people only think about their score and how good they look to others.

F.ex. I like playing TF2 surf maps. Generally chilling around, having fun. But then there's some fucking idiots that decide that ruining a sandvich party is fun, or shoot you when you're going melee only, because that increases their score.

It's a game, you aren't supposed to take it seriously.

I hate people's general hate of noobs, and specifically the term itself. It just sounds stupid. What is wrong with new people playing the games? It gives you a nice score buff killing them!

It's annoying when they say that about the weapon/class/strategy you use.
Pyro is a valid class damnit.
But it's true that things like spawn-killing or using glitches are cheap and annoying. Those take the fun out of a game for both sides.
Seriously, how is it noobish to use a Pyro?
Yes they're easier to aim with, but it is more about the positioning and tactics involved with them rather than stupid boring aiming, like the snipers.
Valve's backburner absolutely qualifies as a non-noob weapon, it does the same damage, sans 1 compression blast, but adds critical hits when you hit someone's back! It is a flaming backstabber that takes some stealth and skill to use.

I think that's more to do with the fact that the pyro appeals to a lot of people new to the game. It sure as hell did for me, and it does for one of my friends who just bought the game. But when I look back on how I had played pyro (ran around only using the flamethrower, not using the shotgun or fire axe) I see lots of people doing things similarly.

I actually enjoy the Juggernaut/Martyrdom/Assault Weapon combo on Call of Duty. I especially like Halo players who start trying to teabag and get blown up by the martyr. Sorry, but there is always one kill (up to 4 people one time- had them backed against a wall and somebody started teabagging right before they blew up).

Nope, there is usually a good reason for people to accuse use of certain weapons, tactics or abilities of being noobish or cheap.

Its poor game balance. I really can't see any reason for allowing the grenade launcher in CoD4 multiplayer.

No, I really am not sick of it. I will use an example from Cod5 to try and illustrate this. I will creatively use a mp40 class with camoflague on team deathmatch and while the 2 teams are shooting at each other in lines like they are british redcoats or something i will sneak around back when the enemy uses radar. People depends far too much on their maps. I can usually take out a cluster of them before they realise i am there. But this gets irritating when you come around and see the same sterotypical idiot who thinks he is mad pro and brags all the time because he has an mp40 and juggernaught on. It is dumb. All the people with the skills and good tactics are being dragged down by the simple fact that the mp40/juggernaught combo is overpowered. This i consider noobish, Especially when i get frustrated, Throw on juggernaught and utterly rape this guy before he rage quits.
um try hardcore juggernaught, stopping power etc all worthless youl have alot more fun just put double tap on your mp40 and youl enjoy how fast people die and how you can rush through around 5 or 6 enemies before you are finnaly killed as would be the same wtih any smg on this game. as for tired of hearing it? nope i like the phrases because it makes a convienient excuse and without the phrase good devs like valve and infinity ward wouldnt know what to take out of the next game or nerf in their current game. its not old it only makes sense most of the time (except in tf2) they are right and its really overpowered and they tottaly have reason to complain of such. and by tf2 i mean people who say pyro is cheap and huntsmen is random arrow spraying.

I am sorry but lately almost every post I have seen lately has said "The cheapest ____" or what they should take out in the next game.

People constantly say that martyrdom or Grenade launchers are cheap in CoD 4. Or that the Rocket launcher is noobish in Halo 3.

I am getting sick of it, every game has some things that are a bit overpowering it happens. I honestly dont think anything is really cheap or noobish, you use what the game gives you, that is how it is supposed to be.

So overall I am just sick of people crying over weapons and such. Sorry I just had to vent it out. It was quite annoying.
