Considering a recent forum age poll [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.190621-Poll-Whats-your-age?page=1] revealed more than half the posters on here were under 18, don't expect a lot of support for your proposal.

Side note: I was using the 'net since i was 11 (back in the 56k age) and my parents didn't really understand computers back then. I turned out just fine; never been molested and my porn tastes aren't too unusual...is it possible that the kids who get raped/killed by some old dude posing as one of their peers are stupid?

I say instead of banning the childrens from the internets we enact a rule which forces parents to actually be PARENTS.
Everyone should be free to use the internet despite potential(Inevitable) scarring.
The internet as we know it thrives on anonymity and freedom of expression and speech. While I don't believe in those rights in certain cases I am a staunch supporter of Internet anonymity.
It's up to the users to determine what they will and what they will not view based upon personal experience and preference. It also serves as a test of sorts. The internet is a safe place, if worked correctly.
We shouldn't ban an entire demographic because a small minority may get themselves into trouble.

Me, being 13, makes me take offence at these assumptions that every kid has retarded parents and blame other people for their ignorance, because they're too thick to realise they should take responsibility for their action. What kind of kid uses chat roulette anyway? That's a stupid idea, my point is made.
Well, I'm almost 16, I've been a member for a year, I've made soon 6000 posts, and I've received one little probation for making a stupid mistake on a comment thread that I regret. Other than that, I've done few things to aggravate anyone. Do I deserve a ban?
Also, my parents aren't stupid either, as the stereotype would imply. They're two of the most responsible and smart people I know, and I would rarely question their methods.

I'll admit, since web 2.0... or basicly this age where everyone is on broadband and takes the internet for granted with and all... some children use the internet to dump their oppinions on everything like they're the center of the world...
Basicly, it won't turn around because the internet is more mainstream now... back then, it was nerds... now it's cool to be joe average on the internet.
I'll admit... all that gets to me is children in games clearly not meant for them... (ERSB-wise) add this up to the fact every game supports voice chat now... basicly, i've never heard so many children cuss, have no ability to speak properly or basicly simply being plain dumb.
For instance I have this Team Fortress 2 server that I play, we basicly make it a policy to kick anyone that's blatantly under 15... It keeps it clean, and us adults can keep talking like adults without having the fear of having children listening it and having their parents on our collective butts.
