It would be better if prostitution was legal. They are legal in Amsterdam, and because of this, the percentage of people with STI's has decreased immensely. They are required to have an STI check every month, and aren't controlled by pimps, so they have a nice carreer.

I don't like the thought of selling your body. It's ok, if they have to get checked for STI's, but those are not the kind of news i would like to hear.

I was surprised by this sudden shock announcement and was expecting to be reading all about it in the papers tomorrow, until I learnt that it was kind of a joke thread. Pity, that wouldn't have been too bad a discussion point.

I'd like to see the headline "Cure for Cancer Discovered". Or anything relating to any major medical disease (malaria, TB, MS, Huntingtons, Cystic Fibrosis) which would mean sufferers of it around the world would have a new lease on life. That's the sort of headline I'd like to see, one that could be appreciated by all.

(Shrugs) AIDS is the classical example, I thought that would have been self explanatory. It's diseases like TB and malaria which kill 3 million and 1 million world-wide per annum that tend to fade off into the background somewhat, yet they're just as bad.

The president doesn't REALLY have the power to get things done instantly, guys. I mean, his biggest idea since starting this whole president thing has been the 'health insurance for all' plan, and after all these months we aren't any closer to it at all.
