The president doesn't REALLY have the power to get things done instantly, guys. I mean, his biggest idea since starting this whole president thing has been the 'health insurance for all' plan, and after all these months we aren't any closer to it at all. How could you possibly believe he'd say "Oh, by the way, I made it law, marijuana's legal now"?

Okay, I would like to point out that I am British before I say this...

Actually you are ALOT closer to getting the Public Option, Harry Reid has put it in the bill so now it needs 60 votes to get it out and the Republicans dont have that. So it is VERY likely that the Public Option is going to go ahead... AND it is the Opt-out option rather than the Trigger option so its actually the good version.

Getting almost anything done in politics is a long and arduous process. If we ever legalize marijuana, you'll hear about it months in advance. Well yeah, he most certainly cant force a law into being in a day. People would, and rightly so, go off the rail if he did that. So yeah, you would hear about it an age before it actually gets through AND even then the Republicans would be fighting it all the way through and FOX "News" would be saying all kinds of crap about a black president legalising marijuana.

Marijuana is an anesthesiologist, there are better, more convenient, and less addictive pain medications for all types of pain. If someone has short term pain, morphine (which is pretty similar, but not quite) is better, and nothing as addictive an opiate (morphine, vicodin, percocet, weed, etc.) should be used for long term, medicinal marijuana is bs
