I believe Mustaine Co-wrote 4 of the songs on Kill Em All and 2 of the songs on Ride, can't remember which ones though (apart from the Four Horseman)Angus Young said:Actualy Dave Mustain did that but only their relly older stuffStevato said:Cliff Burton followed by Flea
Cliff Burton was an amazing bassist and he pretty much wrote all the music behind Metallica's early stuff, thus greatly influencing thrash metal
Saw her live as support for Iron Maiden on their Norwegian tour. Horrible, horrible music, but she's not bad looking at least.TheNecroswanson said:I'm going to have to follow you on Steve Harris. Great bassist, his daughter though... oh... My... God.... I hope he hates her.Angus Young said:I play bass and am wondering who you all think is the best Bassist of all time. make sure to list the band by there name.

Exactly as I would have listed them!wewontdie11 said:I'll just end this thread right here and say Geddy Lee from Rush. Les Claypool of Primus is an obvious and well deserved second place though.
They have a good presence but I wouldn't say they are the best but it's all honestly up to interpretation. All of that eye of the beholder business and such.mokes310 said:Exactly as I would have listed them!wewontdie11 said:I'll just end this thread right here and say Geddy Lee from Rush. I'm glad someone agrees. I just bought HAARP, and Muse's performance was amazing. Chris included of course.Sweep117 said:I was losing hope as I scrolled down this thread but then I saw this and immediately began dancing. Chris Wolstenholme is an amazing bassist. I love that man. I any of you haven't, go listen to the album Origin of Symmetry. Great bass lead songs. Also, the song Hysteria. Brilliant.AeroZeppelinSevenfold said:Chris Wolstenholme of Muse, because I love all of his riffs. His bass is very solid, and helps make up for the fact that there is no rhythm guitar in the band.
This is my favorite bassist of course, for my favorite band. There is no such thing as the best bassist of all time. Everyone has different styles.
In the end though, my personal pic for best bassist ever, is the bassist in my choir's band, Andrea Gunraj. She is absolutely outstanding. I consider myself lucky to have played along side her twice in my life.
