Ray or Thomas from Bound in Blood:Call of Juarez

Now either one of them was capable, durable and never let me down. Neither of them even glitched!

Dogmeat. He was always there to kill Raiders for me. I could sit back and watch him soak up damage for me all for the cost of one stimpak.

Your dog - Fable 2
He's a cute little doggie! You can't help but love him!

Alyx Vance - Half Life series
She's useful and she's actually enjoyable to be around.

Your squadmates of the 22nd S.A.S. - Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare
Much like Alyx Vance (except male and British), they are all enjoyable to be around and they are useful.

Charon was so useful I felt like a mafia don who only had to walk into a room as his henchman blew the occupants to pieces, then ruthlessly interrogate the man in charge or whoever.

I think I'd also actually go with the men you fight alongside in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One (yes, it was even the Treyarch version (gasp!)). I don't know why, but when certain characters died I always felt slightly mournful.

Probably Lilarcor ( the talking sword ) from Baldur's Gate II.
And Morte from Planescape: Torment.
Also Sulik from Fallout 2, but only until I made him hold some drugs for me and before I knew it, he became addicted and useless.

...Cole-Train, why? because if you've read the book, AND played the games..he's funny, witty, and a badass under fire..always cheers people up, always motivates people, and runs INTO fire, while firing from the hip, and carving up grubs..he's the kind of guy that would chop through one, while firing at another with his side-arm, why? cuz "you don't mess with the Cole-Train, baby!"

Dogmeat, of course!

I'd reset my game if he died while I wasn't looking. I loved the little guy, I did.

Man, no one said Yoshi yet? crazy. He was so awesome in SMW. I also agree with Capt. Price in any COD.
No one dared mention Yoshi's name, before you. Not one of us can even begin to appreciate or put into words the amount of sacrifice [http://www.f-ram.net/media/erb/yoshifall.jpg] that little guy had to go through, just for Mario to get a girl, and subsequently proceed to change the whole world's colors all wrong. His is the name that is doomed to forever remain in Mario's shadow.

As for my own answer, I just played through Starcraft for the first time in 8 years, and for the first time without cheating. This made me recall how much I loved Kerrigan as a character, and I'll damn Mengsk for all eternity for leaving her stranded. R.I.P, the Sarah we knew and loved for her personality, not her wicked ability to corrupt Terran HQ's ;_;
Way to almost make a grown man cry with that picture.

Dogmeat. Who's a cute Doggie-Woggie, yes you are!
This. Or Garrus.

Wait, a Fallout Mass Effect crossover... I think I'm onto something here. The Capital Wasteland. IN SPACE.

Oh wait, Mothership Zeta is released soon. I've been beaten to it.

Ashely from RE 4 cause i never really had a problem with her except when i replayed through and sold my sniper to Steve the Weapon merchant and left me with only a Tommy Gun and Infinate Launcher
