I enjoyed SSB Melee the most but Half-Life 2 and Metroid Prime are some of the most exciting games I've ever played. I'm gonna pick Melee since I played it 7 years straight with out stopping.

Resident Evil 4. It is the only game I can think of that if I start playing, under any circumstance, I'll want to keep playing.

Just to tick my friends off I want to say "Tribes Vengeance" (if you have no idea what that is imagine playing Reach, jetpacks only, 3 weapons AND the sword at all times, 3 classes of armor, and it was out around the time Halo 2 was)

but honestly I'm torn

Either Armored Core 4, Team Fortress 2, or on the note of Indie development Castle Crashers

EDIT: Wait... Didn't Sonic Adventure 2 come out in that time frame? in that case I know a lot will bash it and a lot don't play it anymore but DANG it was good, I'm still going back just for city escape (and my friends go back just for the chao)

Zelda Series (i.e. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess) - if you were talking about the *last* decade (00s era) instead of the *past* decade (2 different decades) you could also count Majora's Mask.
