Idk, I hear about those from everyone, I'm a big KH and Castlevania fan myself. Castlevania is a classic with a bunch of titles, and more on the way. Persona maybe, but I still see people talking about it all the time, personally not my cup of tea, but I've played them.
Einhander would get my vote I guess, I really really love that game, and it needs a reboot, provided they don't fuck it up. None of my friends had even heard of it until I told them about it and I don't really see it discussed very much.

The N.O.L.F series (No One Lives Forever).
The whole feel and style of these games was awesome.
It was like Goldeneye mixed with Austin Powers.
Very funny dialogue mixed with FPS/stealth gameplay.
To bad Contract J.A.C.K helped kill the series (that's an assumption but man did that game suck).

Ratchet & Clank. For once my mentioning of it is justified. It's an excellent game series, it has a handful of devoted fanboys and fangirls - me included, duh - but if you ask me, it dosen't get nearly as much praise as it should. Nowadays, amidst all the "realistic" brown FPSes led by titanical Modern Warfare 2, R&C games can be called original without a huge stretch.
Now that there's going to be a sequel (YAY) Beyond Good & Evil!! Woooo. Also I really like Max Payne, wasn't such a huge fan of the first but the second is one of my favourite games.
