Best handgun in any game and why (other than the Halo pistol, please)

Why is the halo pistol singled out, as far as I could ever tell it's design was about as generic as you can get, with its only significant feature was being overpowered in the first game.
My favourite handgun is probably is probably Samus Arans arm cannon, can be held and operated with one hand making it handgun, and it does so many different things.

I like the 228 better. Less Damage but I always seem to run out at the worst possible times with the Deagle.

also because some one used the blame!gun(?) so im gonna say the target locator. and also the infinite ammo raging bull with a riot sheild in rainbow 6 vegas 2 (longest name for a gun ive ever heard...).

Hands down, the "Beamer" energy pistol wielded by the Vanu Sovereignty in planetside. . It featured both anti-personnel and anti-armor (also known as who needs ammo) modes and just about enough destructive energy focusing capability to melt butter. They were even Bio-degradable so that when you managed to fully discharge the thing killing the first enemy you encountered you didnt have to worry about its effect on the environment when you invariably tossed it for the superior firearms given to the other factions.

My regular air-drop CQC loadout was RExo suit, Decimator (for those cheeky MAX suits), sweeper shotgun, my meditool and my shiny, black, large-magazined, highly-accurate, rapid-firing Repeater semiautomatic pistol - because hey, who needs an assault rifle when you have a Repeater.

I'd like to say that at the moment, it's my "detonating Law" (a magnum that shoots exploding rounds) form Borderlands....But I somehow think that doesn't count....

Nope. Only one. You can dual wield regular pistols in that, which I love because that makes them back-up semi-auto assault rifles in every way except name and design.

The handgun (I forgot its real name) from Unreal Tournament. It look cool and I think the secondary button was fire the gun on its side gangta style!

The Enforcer. The Assault Rifles in the sequels could probably count, too. They're held with one hand, can be dual-wielded

In real life, I always liked the feel and sound of Glocks.

The Magnum was the only one the couldn't be dual wielded, my bad. It was still beast. As far as handguns go, the Boltok from Gears of War was an absolute beast, especially in GoW2, where you could active reload it and make it shot ridiculously fast.

I never played Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 but I did play Counter-Strike a lot and the Desert Eagle was by far my favorite pistol in that game.

In Vegas 2 it is a one-hit kill weapon, since, you know, it is a .50 caliber bullet. The Kinetic impact is guaranteed to end your day, even if it doesn't kill you, and since I always aim for center mass or head shots, even with body armor, the impact will kill you. (That is why the DEagle was designed, to kill through body armor) That said, I still usually double-tap, because that is how I shoot.

Oh! MY! GOD! That made me laugh so hard. I love it... Yes, that shows exactly why the Deagle is the ultimate handgun.

The Firelance from Fallout 3. Damn thing could take down a deathclaw with one shot, every time. I had to keep it for special occasions though, like the deathclaw lair, or the final battle, when I wanted to steal all of Liberty Prime's kills, instead of the other way round.

My other choice would be the schofield revolver in Red Dead Redemption. I'd say that 90% of the people I used that weapon on, died from a single shot between the eyes. It may not have been the most high performance handgun in the game, especially at long range, but it was a very sweet looking gun, and my personal favourite besides the Evans repeater. (Or was that the Henry repeater? I can't remember.)

Come to think of it, I remember getting some very satisfying kills with Black Op's Colt Python, but those were mostly in story mode. I think I only killed three people with it in multiplayer. (Three bots in a row while incapacitated,)

You fools... the best handgun is from Megaman.... its his cannon blaster wich is acctually his "Hand - Gun"... get it? There i ended the argument over this considering no one can challenge against a "HANDgun" that can shift, shoot tornados, missiles, bombs, stop time, throw boomerangs, be used has a flamethrower..... and im just scratching the surface....

Probably been said, but the Blacktail from Resident Evil 4. Yeah I know that the Red 9 is more powerful, but the blacktail fired faster, handled better, and yeah I really like it.
