My parents tended to be against videogame-type presents. In fact, the only time I can remember is when my mother got me a game for Christmas about two years ago (making me twenty at the time)... a hidden-object adventure game.

Keep in mind, my collection tends to include such titles as Europa Universalis, X3: Reunion, and The Witcher.

I guess there's a reason I mostly buy my own games, both then and now. :)

I remember asking for a PS1 for Christmas, and I ended up getting a PS2. It was friggin awesome. I only got PS1 games for it though, cause my mom didn't know the difference, but I got Final Fantasy VIII out of it, which was awesome.

I had NEVER even heard of the game before this.. Consequently the two years after that are a bit hazy...

One year I got a couple of 360 games for christmas, which I thought sucked because my relatives bought a game for the wrong console.

The very last present I opened was a new 360. Best christmas ever.

I got the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition. They had gotten it months in advance & shipped it from out-of-country to get it to me. I had heard of it about a week before Christmas and was pretty sure there was no way they were going to find it. Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Zelda I & II? HELL YES I missed those games so much

I got a PS2 for a surprise Christmas present when I was ten, and it came with a free copy of Kessen. I still think that's one of the most underrated games ever.

My Dad once got me Freelancer, Homeworld and Deus Ex on separate occasions for a fiver. Ocarina of Time on Christmas Day was also a surprise because we bought my present, an N64 bundle a few days earlier.

My dad was a hidden wonder with games. He actually completed Resident Evil for me because I was TERRIFIED!

Best thing he ever got me was Star Ocean 2 and FF7.

Blew my mind!

For christmas I asked for a bunch of Xbox Games and when my mom asked me if I had all the Resident Evil's I was like 'Uhh yeah I do'

When I opened this giant box for christmas I got Resident Evil 3 on the Gamecube I didn't even know existed. I was flabbergasted for like, ten minutes.

Also the Assassin's Creed II collectors edition. I didn't even ask for it, I just asked for the normal game, lol. None the less I now happily stare at my Ezio statue holding my Comics up.

Also just this easter I said I wanted a DS game and on Easter morning I went downstairs to a 3DS charging by the counter. My parents said they got confused and bought Ghost Recon Shadow Wars thinking it was a reguler DS game, than was like 'screw it' and bought me a 3DS.

And the Devil May Cry three pack and a Nero Statue imported from Japan, but that's a whole nother story. :)

Sadly, my parents don't buy me games often. The best was Mario Kart for Wii on Christmas, mainly because me and my siblings spent the next two or so weeks staring at a TV for a countless amount of races.

My birthday, grade 4, CUSTOM FUCKING ROBO for the Gamecube HOLY SHIT THE GAME WAS AWESOME but I only got to play it for 2 days because my brother lent it to his freind for a month. I finally got it back... ONLY FOR EVERY VIDEO GAME AND CONSOLE IN MY HOUSE TO BE STOLEN THE NEXT DAY.
After years of searching i gave up. until early this year found it for 5 bucks, i literally let out this huge gasp in the middle of the store, everyone looked at me weird but i finally got it. SO WORTH THE WAIT
