There was an old X-Men game for the Mega Drive that had an awesome fourth-wall moment. Me and a friend were playing co-op in Mojo's World (a world built around television and entertainment) and the "game" suddenly displays a bunch of binary nonsense and "system reset".
Of course, we have no idea what the hell "it" wants, since we'd never encountered anything like it before, and pressing the reset button, for all that we knew, was only going to kill all our progress. After a lot of debate and discussion about whether or not the "reset" was something in-game or the actual button on the console, we risked it, pressed the button, and lo and behold, the game threw a hissy fitt... and allowed us to continue.
