Persona 4. It's still a good game, but it tried to mess with P3's battle-system, and, I've said this before, P3's battle system was a massive dick to you and the enemy. In P4, though, with the whole Down>Dizzy thing, instead of P3 missing the first-step, enemies get a major advantage.

And 40% of the time, I found myself really underleveled. I spent an entire in-game-week leveling, and I still had bloody trouble. Did really like the story, setting, and, oh god.. the music.. (foaming from mouth with unhinged glee)

Quest For Glory 3

There's me, a little youngster, I just finished Quest for Glory 1&2 on my old family DOS. I get a used copy of 3. Yah I say, only to realise, it's... well, shit. Annoying characters - I didn't like the Tarnans, the Simbani, or the Leopard men - the only characters I liked were the non-factioned characters, and even then, they don't appear to much, and it was way too text/dialouge based. How boring.
Again, not bad, but not good compared to prequels.
I'm actually confused are you sure you are talking about P4 because the whole game felt like a complete overhaul of 3 taking out all the bad and putting in good (like being able to control characters), and I never found a problem with my levels except maybe grinding one or two levels which instead of taking awhile in 3 took all of a few minutes in 4. I really don't want to sound like a dick but I really never experienced any of the problems you had. Also I'm not sure on the dizzy-down thing it felt like it didn't happen all that much to me, were you playing on hard difficulty where the enemies get critical attacks a lot more? Cause then I can understand it being a lot more of a problem.

ME3.. "The ending.. "
I mean, if one could go from like having 15+ shepards in ME1, 6 completed shepards in ME2, but only finished the game once in full, and then bailed on the 2nd play thru just before the 12 year old wet dream ninja assassin "boss" fight.. something is wrong.
Maybe its me.. but still, ME3 disappoints the fuck out of me - hard core. I just don't care about Mass Effect any more. The lore, the technology, the universe.

Closely followed by DA2.. "almost all of it."
It was a fun game, I did like some of the improved action-y combat.. but it was also stupid. The other all production of the game is just.. garbage for the developer it came from. Repeated dungeons, static world (a town doesn't look the same over 10 years except for the location of random NPC's.) And speaking of.. the story.. 3 random blips over 10 years.. what happened in between? Why is Hawk's life made up of 4 random crazy moments. And the rest? Was he a fucking bartender? and fucking Anders man...

FarCry2 "Random Guard NPC shacks..."
Ok, I could have lived with random respawning NPC shacks if there was a known reason for it, or a way to remove them for a while. But no.. kill them all, drive 5 minutes away, turn around.. and kill them same enemies who are now magically all healthy again *sigh*
I did love the fuck out of the rest of it.

Duke Nukem Forever
I was expecting witty remarks and a fun run-n-gun gameplay like HL1/2 but with the duke
instead I got a COD-ish experience with dated jokes.

or COD Black Ops
I was expecting a fun SP set in the heigght of the cold war
and I got a short as ass SP with game getting prized down in a week or so
If you're still looking for a first person shooter like Half-Life with one-liners, you could always take a crack at Conduit 2.
And Black Ops wasn't short. It was around 6 hours long, AND it had its multiplayer and zombie mode that are like other games that came packaged with it.
6 hours for a SP is short maybe maybe I,m spoiled by HL1 with it,s huge SP but still that,s 0,50 per minute if I only play the SP. I will take a look at conduit.

Crackdown 2, took out a lot of good things from 1 and didn't fix any of the original game's problems. Still fun though.

To be honest I enjoyed the first one but the second one felt....off. Not that it was bad just.....different. Basically it just didn't feel fun.

The most disappointed I've ever been with a game was with the Wii.

Yes, pretty much every Wii exclusive as well as the system in general can be considered a massive flop. With the exception of Wii Fit(yes, really, Wii Fit) and No More Heroes, every game exclusive to the Wii is garbage. Motion-based controls are the cancer that is killing video games.

And SC2... boy howdy. 1/3 the content of the previous titles
That is a lie.

In what world are 29 missions + 9 challenges 1/3 of just 30 missions? Maybe in your world of nonexistant math but not here.
It lacks features, like clan support, tournament support, chatrooms (we got those half a year leter but even then they were bad), LAN (disconnects at tournaments are just painfull...), shared replay viewing , a good custom game system and more.
B.NET "2.0" is just bad.

Almost all the mission in the campaign have some form of gimmik, I can only think of one that doesnt.
The missions themselves feel like fillers, unlike SC1. The story is bad, as in REALLY bad. A lot of plotholes too.
It completly ruined Kerrigan, she went from someone who was able to bear the combined forces of the UED, the Protoss and the Dominion in a single battle to in SC2 lose to what, half of the Dominon fleet and a Deus Ex Machinima?

Mass Effect 3's ending. Biggest video game disappointment I've ever experienced. The rEApers have harvested another studio.

And yet here I am with an extensive library of great Wii games. I think you are referring to something else. You really didn't like Xenoblade, Sengoku Basara, Darkside Chronicles, Madworld, or Trauma Team?
I'm with Raika on that... the Wii is, by far, the most underused console I've ever owned, and I've owned every SEGA/Nintendo/Sony console since the NES days. Yes, it has good games, but they are much harder to find than with previous systems, lost, few and far between the insane ammount of shovelware that plagues the Wii.

Does it have the occasional good game? Yes, it does. But it had a far fewer ammount of memorable games than any of its predecessors. In fact, the only games I have REALLY enjoyed on the Wii have been New Super Mario Bros, Muramasa, Dead Space Extraction and No More Heroes... and even those last two had better ports come out later for the PS3.

Saints Row3 is a fun game but compared to 2 there were to many things i disliked. One of the examples that improved gameplay and graphics doesn´t mean a better game.

Yakuza: Dead Souls. Firs thing, I love the Yakuza series, I've had a lot of fun running through Kamurocho, doing side quests, and enjoying the narrative. About 30 minutes into Dead Souls the controls got to a point where they were just horrible. I wanted to love it so much...what a letdown.

I'll go with Diablo III.
Four years of waiting and hype and what we got was a somewhat broken and short game that felt really rushed. Been playing for around 120 hours since release, though I lost my enthusiasm around the first time in Inferno 50 hours in. What bothers me the most is that we're forced to use certain builds in order to proceed through the game with most classes. Perhaps I don't want to play defensively on my barbarian and monk. Too bad, I have to.
Should've gotten more suspicious when every update since 2009 seemed to be about dumbing down the game, but my fingers kept itching to play.

When Bashiok told us flat out that we're actually their beta testers, because they couldn't beat Inferno even with the best generated gear possible, most of my faith in the company blew out the door. Every time a class finds a way Blizzard quickly stealth nerfs them to obliteration.

Hope Grim Dawn comes out soon.

It's impossible or me to get disappointed at a game. Do you know what it's like being lucky to get at least ONE game every year? Spent by money my grandparents has committed so much effort working for.

I have no standards, because I haven't played enough games to shape something that could resemble a standard. My copy of Spore is collecting dust, but mainly because my internal hard drive is rather small.

Explain to me how improving the gameplay does not make a better game, please.

Though its been mentioned and will continue to be mentioned I must throw my hat in for ME3. Not just the ending but the whole experience :(

There was a lot of good... but it wasn't as good as it should have been.
