Movies as an industry rely on common popular themes that are used over and over again in movies untilthey themselves become the subject of ridicule and jokes. There are millions of cliches in the movie industry, and my personal favourite is a particular cliche in a horror film, let me set up the scene for you:
Most of the supporting cast is dead killed by (oh let's just say for the sake of example) a serial killer who uses a hand scythe to gut his victims. The last survivor is the heroine who narrowly escapes thescythe of doom multiple times before managing to escape the killer and then get into a car. She stalls for a few seconds before finally managing to get into the car and drive away. She drives away laughing and celebrating her victory.
And then
The serial killer suddenly leaps up from the backseat and slices her open letting her innards spill over the dashboard like spaghetti.
So that's my pick for biggest cliche, what's yours?
