First off: SAY HOW LONG YOU'VE PLAYED AND SPOILER TAG EVERYTHING TO DO WITH STORY. KTHXBYE.

So how's everyone liking it so far? I'm about three hours in, get the objective thing to
find the shock jockey to get the gondola to get to the First Lady.
I'm enjoying pretty much everything so far. The introduction to Columbia maybe wasn't as spooky as Rapture, but fuck me if it wasn't cool. Even the first 20-30 minutes just walking around looking at shit was really interesting, and that's hard to pull off.

I'm liking Booker and Elizabeth too. They're got some decent chemistry, and having Liz lockpick stuff and randomly throw you cash and shit is so cool. Plus, her face, it's like she's a disney movie character or something. SO MANY EMOTIOINS.

Plasmids Sorry, "Vigors" seem more useful in Infinite too. On Hard mode combat is... I dunno, I wouldn't say "challenging", but hectic would be a good word. A lot more hectic than the first two anyway. Weapons look and feel good in general, loving the shotgun, but still not a fan of the two weapon system.

The
Songbird
looks like it'll be a fairly interesting recurring villain/enemy/whatever, so it'll be nice to see how that progresses.

The whole religious messiah theme that's going on is pretty nice too.
Compston(sp?)
doesn't have quite the same charm as Ryan does, and I really hate his voice, but so far he's been a nice antagonist.

So, what do you all think? REMEMBER TO SPOILER TAG [*spoiler] SPOILERS GO HERE [*/spoiler] without the *'s. NO EXCUSES.

I'd love to be playing Bioshock Infinite right now but it only unlocks in 2 hours on Steam.

Really? Here in the UK it unlocked around 11 on the 25th. Weird.

I would love to know if anyone is in the same boat as me: despite desperately trying, I could never bring myself to like Bioshock. Everything I heard tell of it doing right (narrative, atmosphere, interesting and varied gameplay) I just couldn't see in it. Infinite looks a bit different and awesome, but all the reviews amount to "it's just as good as Bioshock." So does anyone who DIDN'T like the original have any impressions to share?

So far I have enjoyed it quite a lot.

I think I am about 6 hours in, picked it up this morning and haven't stopped playing it.

I love the vigors, as well as the new gear system.

The 2 weapon system is quite different to the first Bioshock, but I think it fits with this setting.

Also played 3 hours, got a bit further than OP
Finished the hall of heroes and dropped the game for a bit.

I really really like it, in fact I think it's more my thing than the first game was. Elizabeth is also the BEST non-playable game sidekick ever made, she doesn't get in the way, she helps in more than one meaningful way and she's an interesting character, it's truly awesome!

The giant bird thing
is terrifyingly amazing by the way.

The weapons are very nice and the vigors work pretty well so far, the one thing I didn't really like was the fact melee was reduced to a button instead of a real weapon.

I get the impression that with this Steam download speed I might be playing it some time next year, should have waited for the GOTY edition...

Picking this bad boy up today, with the extra shiny things :D

I'm sure it'll be one of my favourite experiences of all time and I'll be spending some time vehemently defending it against people who say it's emblematic of everything that's wrong with gaming etc etcv

My delivery of the premium edition is on its way but in typical DHL fashion all they tell me is that it´ll be here sometime between 9am and 5pm and I just got back from a nightshift. I´m soo tired. That game better be worth it...

On another note: Does the game have a toggle walk/run button option on PC?

I don't think so. Your character just starts walking and places his gun down sometimes. Otherwise you will walk normally and sprint. (However walking when you have the option to sprint means the walking is faster than the times where it forces you to walk.)

About Six hours in, and it's fucking incredible. Unfortunately I have no idea when I'll be able to play it again, so bloody busy... :(

I am not far at all, and maybe it's because I almost never play FPS, but I am finding the level layout to be really confusing. (Really almost should be never, the closest thing to an FPS I have played before this was Mirrors Edge and a little bit of Fallout 3))

Hmm, that´s a shame. The left analogue stick really is the only thing I miss when playing on PC. Thanks for the info.

I started the second it was opened on Steam.

I have now just finished the entire game after playing for nine hours in one sitting.

It was bloody awesome I have to say and I really enjoyed the ending although I am still left a little confused but I shall say no more, another playthrough or two should clear it up perfectly for me.

I am tired, I need to lie down..

Yeah me too. I didn't like the first one that much either. Before I buy this one I have to know if it's any good, for people like me and Rocket Taco...
