I hope the bosses are fun and not just given 1000000000000000000 health.
Bioware generally isn't all that good at boss fights unfortunately. Lair of the Shadowbroker bosses were pretty decent, but I can't remember any bosses from either DA title that was really fun to fight.
I'd disagree, I thought the fight with the Arishok was really fun. The fight with the rock monster in the Deep Roads was good. Orsino was a pain in the ass but still a valid boss fight if you ask me, and of course Everyone Vs Meredith was really cool (I liked how all the NPCs, including your entire party (even the ones not in the squad you're controlling), were there for the fight.

DA:0 had the High Dragon and the Arch Demon along with the Brood Mother and the king of golems (or Branka) and a slew of other unique and interesting bosses.

Really I'd say that both DA games have lots of challenging and fun boss fights, more so than the ME universe which considers most bosses as "This is just an upgraded version of the mercs/pirates/whatever you've already been fighting in this place...see? We even gave him/her a name!"
I fought the Arishok as a melee Rogue... that was NOT fun at all :(
:p Depends on your spec...and whether you thought to keep summoning your dog every time the Arishok took it out. Have the dog tank him then sneak around back and get your backstab on! :p Better than fighting him as a mage which is an in-depth course on kiting.
I don't think I had the dog... though it has been a really long time since I last played DA2.
:p Unlike in DA:O where the dog was actually it's own character that took up a squad slot, in DA2 he was a summoned character that you actually had to active from the radial menu. He was a pretty good distraction for that Arishok fight, but that's probably the most effective use I got out of him.

Well, I'm with Fappy on this one, I didn't have the dog either and after a little digging(okay, a quick Google search), it turns out Dog is only available if you have The Black Emporium, which neither of us seem to have.

Anyway, it sounds quite useful to have that dog, since I, like Fappy, fought the Arishok as a melee rogue. Was quite hard, even with potions/running away/tactical use of cooldowns. I wonder how it'll be like with a warrior tank, which is probably what I'll be playing as the next time around.

I didn't get too far as a warrior, just didn't like the class. Mages are badass because they're mages. I love the attack speed and moves of the rogue, but the warrior is just too slow and cumbersome for my tastes.

:p As for not having they dog, yeah, forgot that he came with The Black Emporium. But as I said, practically that was the most useful he was, in the battle against the Arishok. Buuuuuuuuuut it kinda proves the original point: DA2 DID have good boss fights! The Arishok was quite challenging with or without the dog. Just because he's hard doesn't mean he's a bad boss fight. :p

looks like some1 didn't watch the video carfully enough to see the dig at your behavior.

"These arn't promises" Thanks I knew that. I know that not every feature gets into the game as they are thought up. Reality tends to get into the mix of this thing called development. Get over yaself and your own sense of self importance. Go throw a fir over every game that doesn't get released when the reality of finans trips over so have to redline a feature. You would never make it in this industry. Not a single second.
Actually, I saw the dig with the "these aren't promises" but that just shows how what ignorant jackasses Bioware are. The promises fans are saying about Mass Effect 3 were made AFTER the game was developed but before its release. It was in QA testing, you see? Everyone knows Dragon Age 3 is in alpha at most and anything said right now is speculation. Your attacking a strawman, as is Bioware, we fans criticizing them are over here. Someone hasn't paid attention to the criticism carefully enough.

But yeah BOOO BIOWARE!
Going around acknowledging feedback and critique. BOOO!
How dare they like it! I hate them and they should hate them as well! Booo! Only speak when they do something wrong! Good things are to be expected!
Actually, I have vocally supported Bioware for a quite few years now. Ever since Baldur's Gate 2. I would say the gaming community as a whole has pretty much too. Bioware is a big name among us, so its a bit retarded to say we only speak up when they do something bad. Their forum is full of good things said about them until this happened.
As far as this video specifically and DA3 are concerned, are you telling me that they didn't have any idea about this stuff when making DA2? Do you really believe that? OR do you believe EA wanted it out as fast as possible because they just spent a buttload of money for the developer and this is the closest thing the devs had to being finished. (In alpha stage) You might try reading between the lines sometime, and see how it works out for you. The reason people are saying this announcement is lame is because it is. It is Bioware acting like they are 10 years old and broke a vase. "I don't know what happened. Oh, I am not suppose to break stuff, OK. I didn't know"

Oh yeah didn't you know? Every youtube comment is made by Zeel.

I liked DA 2 so meh. Sounds good, have to say that I might of preferred the tevinter imperium over Orlais but whatever.

I am so hoping we get a Tevinter mage as a party member. Seriously, I would actually like to have long conversations with these people, I want to see how their society actually functions, as they seem to be painted as this generic evil empire and I hope there is more to them.

I would hope they keep some of the visual changes from DA 2 like the look of the elves and Qunari.

Honestly I hope they learned the lesson that the Da games are not FIFA, they are not one a year things, they need time.

I watched the 40 minute DA panel. They pretty much confirmed that DA3 will have a voiced protagonist. That's a deal breaker for me.
I'm more concerned that there will be the dialog-wheel in it. But if they do, make it Deux EX:HR style. You know, where i know what i say

Captcha: take care
i will

"Decisions that matter."
Oh God...

Well, all my skepticism aside, it sounds good. So far.

How to win 90% of the bossesbattles in DA2
Assume direct control of the ONE dude it have aggro on, and run around like a retard, while the rest of the party kills it.

After the PR fiasco with ME3, I. Don't. Believe. A single. Word.

Not until the game is actually out, and I see how it plays.

Im glad to see theyre trying to reach some kind of middleground between the greatness of DA:O and the the less then stellar DA2 (No I dont think DA2 was the train wreck people claim it was).

I think the difference between sillohettes and armor style is a healthy middleground and helps to support both their vision and the players choices. I esepcally like the idea of being able to change color, though changing the material (I.e. changing a suit from a plate mail look to chain mail) excites me less so. Still I think more customization can only improve the game

Thats pretty much all I can comment on since they didnt go into much detail for these ideas

They're clapping for things that existed in RPGs sometimes up to 20 years ago... Fallout 1 and 2, BG1 and 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, FOR F*CKS SAKE, HOW IS THIS APPLAUSE WORTHY?! F*CK YOU BIOWARE.
Congrats BioWare, you are reinventing the wheel.
BioWare isn't claiming innovation and the crowd is not cheering for it (at least not as far as this video goes). They're showing how the stuff the community told them was unhappy about with DA2 is something they've noticed and are changing and the people are (rightly) cheering for it.

Basically, they're saying "we're not gonna give you another DA2", which I find applause worthy (though that DOES seem one of the most easily impressionable crowds, but then again, it's a convention and half the people are cosplayers), especially considering Origins. It's nice to hear we'll go to Orlais as well, could make for an interesting setting.

I'm fine with the player-character having a vocal ability, as long as they remove the FUCKING CONVERSATON-WHEEL. Seriously, going from sometimes 8 different lines in a conversation to be taken, some of (in all self-respecting RPGs) are hilariously written, down to generic "Funny"/"Seriouse"/"Threatening"-choices? I wanted to face-fuck Hawke in DA2 with a dumptruck everytime he spoke.
If the combat (simplified and too easy) comes back from DA2, then it's a dealbreaker for me. I can LIVE with the "can only gear main-character" bullshit, but not the almost Diablo-like combat.
