Brad looked over, seeing... a giant spider woman standing in front of him.

'these spirits are getting weirder and weirder...' Brad thought.

"My pleasure." Gleam said, eyeballing Brad and Izanagi, as well as Ken.

'Brad, keep on your guard, i dont trust this thing...' Izanagi thought to his partner.

'Right.' Brad thought back.

"So, your Kage's blade's spirit, well, this is Izanagi." Brad pointed to his friend, the giant of a man Knoded, paying full attenchen to the woman.

"So, want to join in on our training Kage? I sware me and Izanagi will go easy on ya."

Gleams grin only became more apparent when Brad asked her if Kage and herself wanted to train with them.

"I-" Kage started, but he was cut off by his spirit. She leaned over and lowered her head over his shoulder, grabbing his shoulders in a motherly way.

"I'm so sorry, Brad, but Kage can't come and train with you. See, he has no zanbakuto, and without that I'm afraid there's not much he can do..."

Kage blushed under the insinuation that he couldn't fight. He shrugged away from her, feeling humiliated and angry, looking at Brad and back to her, and then back at Brad.

"That's not fair, of course I don't have my sword, I used it to bring you here, and I can too fight. You know my kido is just as good as theirs." Kage retailiated against her. She snickered at him, folding her arms just under her breasts.

"Oh yes, I know, and your kido is very good, but they're using their bankai, hon, and your kido just can't fight that." She said, sneering at him under her breath. Kage's humiliation was quickly boiling over into rage. He knew exactly what she meant. It had been just a while ago when Ken had called him out, and all the power he could muster was poured into one attack that failed. However though...this time he wasn't exhausted. That pill that Tessai had given him...maybe...

"No, I can do this." he said, looking over at Brad. Instantly, Kage let loose his spiritual energy, the air becoming thick with reishi as his spiritual pressure spread out over the area. No sword, no tools, he balled his hands into fists.

"Come on, I can take whatever you've got." Kage said, his tone defiant and challenging.

Brad was forced to step back from the wave of spirit pressure that Kage released, he dident expect such a powerful blast from such a new spirit reaper.

"This is going to be intresting." Brad said, releasing Izanagi without the phrase.

He spun Izanagi in the air for a second and then impailed the blade into the ground.

"Your not using your weapon, I wont use mine." Brad smiled, droping into a fist to fist fighitng stance.

"Im ready when you are Kage."

Kage relaxed his guard when Brad impaled his weapon into the ground.

"Your not using your weapon, I wont use mine." Brad smiled, droping into a fist to fist fighitng stance.

That brought up an interesting point, but...

"Brad, I don't know about you, but I'm in squad 2. Soifon made sure that I was training in Hakuda as soon as I entered her squad. I can't become a seated member until I become sufficiently proficient. I don't think it's quite fair." Kage explained to him.

He gave Brad some time to think it over before adopting a stance of his own. Keeping his body facing forward he spread his stance a bit. Reaching both hands forward he kept them flat, and then turned to the side. HIs hands remained flat, palms down with the fingers lifted up at an angle. One arm forward, one arm back, his stance was largely balanced with a solid defense.

"Alright then...I'll start!" Kage shouted. HIs spiritual pressure suddenly double for a brief moment before it lessened to half of its original. Gleam watched him keeping her arms folded. She was more than content to sit back and watch, to see what he could do without her.

"Careful, Kage-chan. He's still using bankai with or without a weapon." she told him, but he couldn't hear her. As soon as he said he would start, he used his shunpo and disappeared.

He's strong, stronger than me. I can only augment my own power with speed, maximize force for the highest effeciency. This is the time to strike!

Kage flashed from beside Gleam to right in front of Brad. In a single step he shifted his stance from the defensive to offenseive. Rather than swing for him, he used his shunpo as the strike, extending his arm mid-step so that when his step finished, his fist would connect with Brads chest. But he wasn't done there.

"SHO!!!"

At the instant his fist should have connected, he focused his reishi around his wrist. Executing Hado #1, he augmented the blow with a kido push behind it, adding to the already high force from the step. There was no time to second guess his strike, but unlike with Ken, this time his stance did not leave him completely vulnerable with both feet in a horse stance, ready to move.

Brad slid back a good 15 feet from Kage's attack, feeling a twinge of pain.

'Captian Soifon was right to pick him for squad 2...' He thought.

Izanagi held on to his spear while sticking near Brad's, just in case he needed to throw it to him if Gleam desided to get involved.

"My turn." Brad said, running twords Kage, charging a pocket of spirit energy in his hand.

" Hadô #4! Byakurai!" He shouted, sending a small blast of lighting at Kage.

'I dident infuse my own lighting attack in there, so if it hits, it shouldent hurt that much...' he thought, not wishing to hurt Kage.

'and if he somehow evades this, ill have to combo with the next one...' He thought once more.

Kage held his stance as Brad slid backwards. He was suprised that his attack landed at all, but maybe Brad wasn't as fast as Ken. Then again, maybe Brad wasn't taking this seriously. THis was not the time to underestimate his opponent. He held his position with his arm stretched forward from the strike, watching Brad and ready to react.

" Hadô #4! Byakurai!" He shouted, sending a small blast of lighting at Kage.

The blue lightning blast rocketed towards Kage at incredible speed. Block...

His other arm shot forward, holding both palms out as if he was going to catching the lightning blast. One hand high, the other low, he quickly switched positions in two half moons creating a circle.

"Bakudo 39! Arc Shield!!!" Kage yelled out. Yellow lines lit up where his hands had traveled, creating a ring between them. It expanded out in both directions creating a disc of light just in time to stop the blast. Lightning struck it and arced out in all directions, contacting anything it could to make a circuit. Gleam swept her arm through the air, conjuring her forked staff from nothingness just in time to catch a stray bolt arcing towards her. The lightning was drawn to the staff, the other end of which she drove into the ground while her other arm remained folded over her bare stomach.

Kage held off the blast, his heart pounding now as he slid backwards in the dirt. The lightning didn't have much force, but it was enough. Fortunately, it was short lived as Hado 4 was. Kage could do better though.

Shifting his position, one leg forward and the other back, he released the shield bakudo. The golden reishi scattered in a million points of light as he spread his fingers.

"Lightning blast, huh." he said as small arcs of blue current ran up between his spread fingers, "Here's one from a pro!"

He clapped his hands together and then spread them. a single bolt of blue lightning arcing between his palms. The tips of all his fingers began to glow with a blue light.

"Hado #5: Byakurai Kanmaku! Pale Lightning Storm!" Kage yelled out. The arc of electricity between his hands finally broke as every point of light on his fingers and thumbs burst forward. Kage slid back again, digging his feet into the dirt as 10 copies of Brads attack returned upon him. While he knew that Brad was lightning attuned, he didn't have his spear. Without that, he couldn't channel the current. And without redirecting the current, he could fry just like anyone else.

Brad smerked.

"I knew he was a Kido wizard and all, but this is very impressive." Brad said as he started to flash step past the lighting, feeling the emence heat off of the bolts.

"Shakkahô!" Brad yelled, using both of his hands as catalists to fire twin red orbs at Kage.

Two red orbs streaked through the air at Kage.

Hado #31, no incantation, threat level high. Evasion.

The lightning from his fingers ended as he canceled the hado and dropped down to the ground. Down on all fours in the crab stance he held as low as he could letting both cero-like blasts pass over him. But as long as he was out of the path of danger, he wasn't stopping. Both hands pressed against the ground he gathered his reishi.

"Sekienton! Kyokko!" he called out as an explosion of red smoke burst out from under his hands. Both red blasts left holes in the smoke, but when it parted Kage was no longer there.

"Hmm, clever, but I don't think that's going to work..." Gleam said with a snicker. Leaving her staff in the ground she folded her arms together once more. She could still sense Kage even though his spiritual pressure was almost gone, only because of the bond they shared.

Elsewhere though, Kage crouched cloaked in invisability.

Inventory...bakudo 1-27+58 77. Hado 1-11. No effective hado, marginally effective bakudo. Technique...spiders dance...Calculating odds...60% success rate. Price of failure: Vulnerability. Odds of mutual destruction: 20%. I'm going for it, I just need the right opertunity...

"Well, I guess I'm training by myself." Ken sighed as his training partner started fighting Kage. Ken noticed the tall Spiderwoman standing on the sidelines. As tall as ken was in his bankai form, he still only came up to her shoulder. Ken fanned his wings and flapped them once, sending himself rocketing high over Kage and Brad's battlefield. Ken stretched his wings out for maximum surface area and glided down to where Gleam was.

"Hello, I'm assuming you are Kage's Zanpakuto spirit. I'm Ken Langston, 7th seat of squad 11." Ken greeted the drider.

Aoshi let out a strangled gasp as he rocketed across the room before slamming into the wall under Ken visibly cracking the wall before collapsing in a heap on the ground. Dragging himself up, he did a quick visual inspection of himself beofre choking out, "You don't hold back do you?" Hearing a mirthful chuckle, he glanced up and saw his zanpakuto stroll out of the darkness in front of him, scythe resting comfortably on it's shoulder. "Now what would be the point of fighting you if I held back Hmm? Though I got to say it's been awhile since I've had such fun in battle."

Calmly lifting one of his hands, Maindo Setsudan Naitomea gestured vaguely before a arm formed of the shadows behind Aoshi swatting him back toward his zanpakuto like a ragdoll only for his zanpakuto to catch him by his neck and lift him up one handed. "Your not exactly putting up a fight gaki. I expected more from you." Rearing his head back, Aoshi headbutted the spectre before jumping back a look of determination dead set on his face. If I lose myself to this, I fail them. I can't let that happen no matter what. His eyes went wide with shock as the shadows coalesced around his hand forming a pitch black Okatana which he grasped only to hear more laughter from his zanpakuto.

"Good Good, I was wondering how long it would take for you to pass the first trial. You feared failing your team by being weak and once you let that go, you were able to manifest a part of me to defend yourself. Now for the true test, you must defeat me." Holding up it's hand again, his zanpakuto muttered, "Black Gravity," forming a solid ball of shadow which instantly drew everything towards it the most important of which being Aoshi. Finding himself rocketing forward, he screamed out,"Holy shit," before stabbing his sword into the ground to steady himself. "How can you do that. We control darkness, not gravity." Naitomea merely chuckled once more before responding, "Ah that is true but in this darkness I control everything. That is the power of our bankai. Get ready gaki because this fight just got more fun."

As Risa traveled through the Living World, she began to feel like she was being followed, so she stopped to examine her surroundings. But it didn't seem like anyone had actually noticed her, so she sighed in relief.

Phew... it was just my imagination again... But no sooner had she let her guard down then something knocked her to the ground. When she got up with sword bared, however, she couldn't see anyone.

"What...?" This put her at a serious disadvantage, as the mystery-whatever could attack her without her even seeing it move, and all her sword swipes and kidos met with empty air.

"Alright," she growled, "This is seriously starting to tick me off!" Holding her Zanpakuto high in both hands, she shouted, "Alright then, no more miss nice guy! Suzutakanari! SOUND OUT!"

The weapon in her hands began to glow brightly before seeming to split. When Risa lowered her weapon, it had become a pair of bladed tonfas, that she held in front of her protectively, waiting for the creature to strike. Now...let's see if I can do this correctly this time...

Attached to the tonfas were tiny bells that rang out, acting like sonar waves to alert her to what was obviously a Hollow's presence. "Found you! Byakurai!"

A bolt of lighting shot from her finger into the spot where the Hollow most likely was, and after a moment, it appeared in front of her.

The Hollow was reptilian in appearance with oversized forearms and a spiky mask. Its' long tail lashed back and forth as a yellowish tongue poked out from its mouth.

"Well, well, well...I see you have discovered me." It said in a reptilian-sounding voice. "I'll have to make sure you don't find anyone else!" Its' tongue lashed out at her, forcing her to dodge out of the way. But she also had its' tail to contend with, as wellas the giant arms that allowed it to spring out of the way of her attacks.

"Hold stil!" Risa shouted, and swung the tonfas at the monster, who blocked with its' giant claws.

"You should be more careful, little girl." Tauted the Hollow, and before Risa could even blink, the Hollow's tongue wrapped around her, costricting her arms to her sides and prevented any movement.

"Looks like I caught myself a Soul Reaper! Yesss... eating your soul will be so sweet!"

Risa could feel her bones being crushed, as her vision began to fade... This is it. I'm dead...

Are you willing to give up so easily? An unfamiliar voice hissed through her mind, and Risa's eyes shot open.

"What? Who are you?"

"Eh? Who are you talking to, girly?" the Hollow hissed.

You know my name, The voice continued, But you still haven't used much of my power. Speak my name, and I will help you...

Risa closed her eyes and took in as much breath as she could with her constricted lungs, and whispered, "Suzutakanari..." Suddenly, a light bluish glow seemed to surround her...

"What is this?!" Demanded the Hollow, failing to notice that its victim had managed to work her arms free.

Risa's eyes snapped open, blazing with fury. "Let...me...GO!" She screamed, and blasted the Hollow with a wave of sonic energy that disoriented it enough to make it loosen it's grip enough for her to attack with enough force to cut through its tongue. The Hollow tried to vanish into thin air and scurry away, but Risa quickly realized what it was trying to do.

"Oh no you don't!" She shouted, and ran forward. As the Hollow spun around towards her, Risa grabbed what remained of of its severed tongue and shouted, "Tuzuri Raiden!". This had the effect of electrifying the Hollow, immobilizing it so she could deliver the final blow.

As the Hollow's body vanished, she heard the voice saying, Well done, you have much potential, but let's see if you can act upon it...

Risa slumped to the ground. "Whew... fighting Hollows really isn't as easy as everyone says it is...!"

Worn out from all the fighting, Risa limped her way through the city, often risking being seen by someone with high spiritual pressure, or worse, anothe Hollow. But thankfully, she managed to make it to the shop's address without being seen.

"Finally!" She gasped out, then took a moment to compose herself. No sense in showing up all dishieveled. After making herself look more presentable, Risa took a deep breath and stepped into the open.

There were two children sweeping out front, so she decided to make her presence known.

"Hello," she said politely, "Is Urahara-san around?"

Gleam looked down at the shinigami that had approached her. Keeping her arms folded she settled down a bit spreading her legs out to the sides to lower her head down to his level.

"Hello, I'm assuming you are Kage's Zanpakuto spirit. I'm Ken Langston, 7th seat of squad 11." Ken greeted the drider.

"Ahhh, yes, I know you." she said, lifting one hand up while the elbow rested in the other hand. Her fingers fanned in an egalitarian manor as she smiling at him, "You were the one that was fighting Kage, twice even. You're very strong, aren't you? I like that in a shinigami." she said as she leaned over a bit. Her lips soften as her face grew closer to his, lowering her hand and grazing her fingers over his cheek. She let him answer her, though honestly, she wasn't listening.

Leaning in a little bit more though she brought her face mere inches from his gazing deeply into his eyes while she craddled his cheek in her palm. Rubbing over his cheekbones with her thumb, she spoke softly, sweetly, seductively to him.

"Ken-san..." she said to him, moving her face a little bit closer until her chin rested on the end of his enlongated nose, "I'm only going to tell you this once."

Suddenly her whole demeanor changed. While she looked the same, her voice shifted. Any semblence of emotion disappeared, replaced only by cold, unfeeling, and utterly serious murderous intent.

"If you ever hurt Kage again, I will kill you." she threatened. Her hand still rested on his cheek, though with the tips of her pointed fingers grazing over his scaled hide, "I will kill you slowly and in painful ways you shinigami haven't even imagined or contemplated names for. And before you die, I'll make sure you hang on long enough to watch me turn your pet dragon inside out. Don't touch him again."

She remained there with her hand on him for a moment, her pure white eyes locked with his as she gave her words a chance to sink in. Reading him though his gaze when she was sure he got the point she stood up once more, her fingers trailing along his cheek before leaving his face. Once she stood upright again ahd pulled her legs in, rising to her proper height while she folded her arms under her breasts, smiling down at him.

"It's so nice to have made your aquaintance, Ken Langston of Squad 11." she said, her voice reverting to that same polite and sweet tone, though her eyes remained the same.

Ururu looked up at the young woman.

"Hes down stares, here, follow me." SHe said with the same, blank expression she always has as she opened up the hidden path.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"A smokescreen..." Brad said outloud, closing his eyes as the smoke enveloped aroudn the area.

'my sight will not help me, i have to sense him...' He thought, which would be hearder then normal, everyone training for Bankai and all.

He could sense some energy within the smoke, but he wasent sure.

"Sôkatsui!" He yelled, firing a blue flames out ofh is hand at what he thought was Ken.

From where Kage crouched he could see Brad through the twisted light inside his kyokko. He'd used the smoke bomb kido to mask his disappearance, but rather than shunpo he'd simply run off under the assumption that Brad would expect him to use shunpo. It was a gamble, but it paid off this time.

"Sokatsui!" Brad yelled as he fired off a blast of energy. Without a target Kage could only guess he was trying to do as much damage as possible to the surrounding area, playing the odds that Kage might be in his line of fire. It insulted him a bit as he watched from Brads side, that he thought he would still be in front of him. A vantage point and a geographic advantage, even Brad should understand these concepts.

This is my chance though, while he's distracted, Kage thought to himself as his body tensed, But I don't have a finish. Without a killing blow this is useless. However...

Kage picked himself up. He had a plan. Now was the time for execution. He dispelled the kyokko from around himself, revealing his presence has his spiritual pressure burst forth. He adopted a fighting stance with his body sideways, head turned towards Brad. His back leg was bent, the other straight with his feet wide apart, and his arms out to either side.

"Eight points of contention, Spiders Dance!" Kage shouted out before he disappeared. He used his shunpo to close the distance on Brad to point blank range. This hadn't worked on Ken, but maybe...Mid-step he clapped his hands together. When his first step ended, he called out as he spread his hands apart.

"Bakudo #4: Hainawa!" he called as a golden rope of spiritual energy burst forth from both palms, connected in the middle and shooting in both directions. One end struck the ground with enough force to crack it as it anchored into the rock under them. The other, like a viper, shot out at Brads arm, whipping back and forth set to grab him at any moment.

He didn't wait to see if it hit though. Confident that either Brad would be caught, or Kage would be stopped, he used shunpo, stepping to Brads other side in his stance once more.

"Hainawa!" he called out, clapping his hands together and throwing another rope. He stepped again.

"Hainawa! Hainawa!" Kage shouted out. He flash stepped to different points around Brads body, lingering only long enough to cast the bakudo and then moving again in an attempt to stay one step ahead of his strike.

"Hainawa! Hainawa! Hainawa! Hainawa!" He shouted, throwing the final four ropes. Each one bound to the ground in a perfect circle around Brad with his last step leaving him kneeling before Brad, ready for the last shot.

Brad was wraped up tight, he really dident expect this, maybe it wasent a good idea to not use Izanagi, even if he was still going a tad easy on him, but not by much.

"One way out..." Brad thought, welling up a massive amount of pressure.

"GHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Brad yelled, making the air around him explode, destroying the Hainawa, but leaving him weakened.

"I...I think i over... over did it." Brad chuckeled though heavy breath.

Kage skidded backwards along the ground as Brad shattered all eight bakudos at onces. He shielded his face with his arm, blocking anything that might have hit him. HOwever, he held his stance and kept his balance. He could still do this, but this time it was do or die.

"One shot left!" He yelled as he dug his feet into the ground and pushed himself forward. Both arms stretched in front of him as he lunged at Brad. He just needed to get a single finger on him. Flying through the air, his jump boosted by the reishi around him, he called out his final strike.

"Hado #11: Tsuzuri Raiden!" he yelled in midair, flying towards Brad in one last, desperate attack as golden arcs of electricity crackled over his hands.

Ken was genuinely regretting ever meeting this shinigami, not only was he easy to piss off, his zanpakuto was completely insane. Ken jumped back from the drider and growled. "Both of those times Kage attacked me. I was defending myself the entire time!"

Ken didn't now what this woman's problem was, but she certainly wasn't friendly....

Meanwhile, up above, Risa and Urahara sat at a low table, drinking tea. After a moment, Urahara lowered his cup and examined her.

"So, you'e from Squad 9, am I correct?"

Risa, who had been leaning over her cup, straightened. "Y-yes, that's correct. I was sent here to keep an eye on the group that was already sent here."

Urahara smiled at her. "Well, they're currently in the middle of a 3-day training session, but... if you want in, I guess I could fit you in somewhere."

Kage flew through the air, unable to stop himself as Brad fell over. Clearly this fight was over, but Kage couldn't stop himself now. With Brad no longer there to touch, he hit the ground hard having had no landing planned nor any next move after this. With a grunt he hit the ground and slid up next to Brad. Both hands landed on the ground with an explosion of electricity arcing over the soil and rocks in all directions before fizzling out. For the moment, Kage just laid there. Brad was down, the danger was neutralized. This fight was over.

Off to the side, Gleam was content to watch. Ken had clearly gotten the message as he suddenly backed off away from her. Though he argued that it had been Kage's fault the whole time, she didn't really care. And she proved it as she walked away from him, ignoring anything else he had to say.

Next to Brad, Kage finally let the fatigue of the fight get to him. Breathing hard against the ground he tried to catch his breath. Using the Spiders Dance always took a lot out of him, but this whole sparring match had been kido back and forth. For now, he was exhausted. There was, however, that familiar ticking behind him, and he knew exactly what that was. She was coming his way.

No...I can't let her get me like this..., he thought to himself. HIs fingers curled as he got ready to move. If she was coming to kill him, he'd only get one shot at this. Closer the ticking came, more spiritual energy he had to gather. Using the same hado he had tried to use on Brad, the electricity started to crackle over his finger tips. Closer now...closer...almost there...

Kage threw himself over with one hand and thrust the other one up at Gleam. The electricity sparked as he tried to lay a hand on her, but she was quicker. Snatching his arm by the wrist she yanked hard, shaking him and his focus. The hado was lost, fizzling out as she pulled him up off the ground. She held him up by his arm before she wrapped the other one around his waist, holding him against her belly. Letting go of his arm she let her hand come down and stroke over his cheek.

"Ah, Kage-chan. You did well." she told him, her fangs showing as she grinned. She carried him away from there, though she didn't offer Brad so much as a glance to see if he was alright, and set Kage back down on his feet away from them. For all he was afraid of his spirit, Kage was also powerless to do anything about her at the moment.
