As Risa traveled through the Living World, she began to feel like she was being followed, so she stopped to examine her surroundings. But it didn't seem like anyone had actually noticed her, so she sighed in relief.
Phew... it was just my imagination again... But no sooner had she let her guard down then something knocked her to the ground. When she got up with sword bared, however, she couldn't see anyone.
"What...?" This put her at a serious disadvantage, as the mystery-whatever could attack her without her even seeing it move, and all her sword swipes and kidos met with empty air.
"Alright," she growled, "This is seriously starting to tick me off!" Holding her Zanpakuto high in both hands, she shouted, "Alright then, no more miss nice guy! Suzutakanari! SOUND OUT!"
The weapon in her hands began to glow brightly before seeming to split. When Risa lowered her weapon, it had become a pair of bladed tonfas, that she held in front of her protectively, waiting for the creature to strike. Now...let's see if I can do this correctly this time...
Attached to the tonfas were tiny bells that rang out, acting like sonar waves to alert her to what was obviously a Hollow's presence. "Found you! Byakurai!"
A bolt of lighting shot from her finger into the spot where the Hollow most likely was, and after a moment, it appeared in front of her.
The Hollow was reptilian in appearance with oversized forearms and a spiky mask. Its' long tail lashed back and forth as a yellowish tongue poked out from its mouth.
"Well, well, well...I see you have discovered me." It said in a reptilian-sounding voice. "I'll have to make sure you don't find anyone else!" Its' tongue lashed out at her, forcing her to dodge out of the way. But she also had its' tail to contend with, as wellas the giant arms that allowed it to spring out of the way of her attacks.
"Hold stil!" Risa shouted, and swung the tonfas at the monster, who blocked with its' giant claws.
"You should be more careful, little girl." Tauted the Hollow, and before Risa could even blink, the Hollow's tongue wrapped around her, costricting her arms to her sides and prevented any movement.
"Looks like I caught myself a Soul Reaper! Yesss... eating your soul will be so sweet!"
Risa could feel her bones being crushed, as her vision began to fade... This is it. I'm dead...
Are you willing to give up so easily? An unfamiliar voice hissed through her mind, and Risa's eyes shot open.
"What? Who are you?"
"Eh? Who are you talking to, girly?" the Hollow hissed.
You know my name, The voice continued, But you still haven't used much of my power. Speak my name, and I will help you...
Risa closed her eyes and took in as much breath as she could with her constricted lungs, and whispered, "Suzutakanari..." Suddenly, a light bluish glow seemed to surround her...
"What is this?!" Demanded the Hollow, failing to notice that its victim had managed to work her arms free.
Risa's eyes snapped open, blazing with fury. "Let...me...GO!" She screamed, and blasted the Hollow with a wave of sonic energy that disoriented it enough to make it loosen it's grip enough for her to attack with enough force to cut through its tongue. The Hollow tried to vanish into thin air and scurry away, but Risa quickly realized what it was trying to do.
"Oh no you don't!" She shouted, and ran forward. As the Hollow spun around towards her, Risa grabbed what remained of of its severed tongue and shouted, "Tuzuri Raiden!". This had the effect of electrifying the Hollow, immobilizing it so she could deliver the final blow.
As the Hollow's body vanished, she heard the voice saying, Well done, you have much potential, but let's see if you can act upon it...
Risa slumped to the ground. "Whew... fighting Hollows really isn't as easy as everyone says it is...!"
Worn out from all the fighting, Risa limped her way through the city, often risking being seen by someone with high spiritual pressure, or worse, anothe Hollow. But thankfully, she managed to make it to the shop's address without being seen.
"Finally!" She gasped out, then took a moment to compose herself. No sense in showing up all dishieveled. After making herself look more presentable, Risa took a deep breath and stepped into the open.
There were two children sweeping out front, so she decided to make her presence known.
"Hello," she said politely, "Is Urahara-san around?"
